I'm a big fan of customization in general at games. So I hope we can do loads of it in ME4. Stuff like armor customization, character bodybuild-customization, ofcourse the face and maybe even the interior of the ship and such.

What do you guys think of customizing your game? I was rather dissapointed at level of customization on the main character's armor in Dragon Age Inquisition, I'd dislike it a bit if it was as bare bones in ME4 as it was in there.

I really like to do the same.

So I'd like to have in depth character editor + squad mates editor.

Paragon / renegade status should be reflected somehow in face of main character

I think customization is going to be at an all time high in the game, based on what we've heard so far.  My main hope is that companions get actual helmets for hostile environments.  It ticked me off to no end that I ended up having to chose which characters to take on certain missions in ME2/3 based on who had full helmets vs. who got those stupid face masks.  I also would love it if they would include updated versions of all the armors from ME 1, 2, and 3 with high rez textures and high polygon models, because I loved some of those armors.

I agree, but I also think that Paragon/Renegade really needs a rework. How about this: it really is your reputation and people react to you different ways based on your rep. I think they TRIED to do this with the old system, but I'd like to see some stark reactions about it. Some people not willing to work with you, because you have been killing their race members around galaxy and such. :)

And squadmate editor wouldn't be bad at all!

I agree about helmets. You know what I'd like to see? Visors that open up when you go into converstaions, or helmets that collapse down into tighter set. :)
I'd also like to see those armor sets, BUT with custom colour options.

Sure.

character bodybuild-customization

No. This makes animation tremendously more complicated. It's a poor trade off.

maybe even the interior of the ship and such.

To an extent. Decorations and such. I don't want the player actually putting walls up and designing rooms.

Yeah. I don't mind having characters in non-armor but we we get to hazardous environments, I'd want their model to switch to generic armor. It wouldn't be hard to do.

#1 - nothing less then ME3 customization in terms of guns/mods and should be further expanded

#2 - armor stats/mods - non-existant in ME2, the options in ME3 were barebone and made next to no difference. ME1 wasn't satisfying enough in this departement either really. The entire system needs to be expanded

#3 - Mako stats/looks extensive customization. If you're bringing it back, make it feel like it's a natural extension of the "ground" gameplay. Lets us make slower gun-blazing Mako, or a faster platforming-focused version with weak firepower version depending on the playerstyle and how they want to deal with the enemies they encounter (fighting style or running away style). Looks-wise, we should be able to make the vehicle look like our armor

#4 - influence on the game's world depending on playerstyle and what the player invests in. You don't want PC/party members' skills (or lack of them) to lock people from best loot in lockers like in ME1 fine. But if someone's investing in best, most expensive guns, let them blow toughest doors and get better loot. If someone invests in best omni-tools, let them decrypt toughest locks to get better loot.

I would love it if the stats on the armor would make a dramatic difference to your playstyle, BUT making them all viable to end game, because I like that about Mass Effect 2 and 3. But then again, what if the armor that has the best stats... also looks REALLY dumb. I hate it when that happens (happens a quite abit on RPG's).

And I too hope Mako gets some customization. Like you can add to raw speed and power or get it's guns and armor better in expense of mobility.

Also about the skill trees and such. I'd actualy hope you would have to comit to certain style of gameplay rather than picking JUST what you like from it. Sort of specialize yourself towards certain way of dealing with threats.

Extensive mod customization/underlays/plating then. Complete separation of armor looks vs stats. Everyone would be happy.

I agree forcing the player to commit to 1 playstyle would be better. Otherwise by the middle of the game everyone will have stupidly overpowered Mako in every aspect and there will be zero challenge left when using it

A.  Ship customization -- allow us to change the primary/secondary colors of your, and decorate the captains cabin/crew quarters/social areas of the ship

B.  Companion customization -- allow us to the armor, armor type, and colors

C.  Deeper character customization -- more hairstyles, better scarring options, augment bodysize (small, default, tall)

Retrain Shepard and all companions

Modular weapons and armor

Customizable Mako and ship

This would be enough for me. Especially if the last two points include both visual and functional customization.

Edit: heavily upgraded character creator comes without question

I'd really like a DAI-style crafting system, but with Mass Effect guns and armor. And also with paint. If a multi-galactic society can't figure out how to paint gray metal black and red, I'm going to throw something.

That reminds me. I'd love it if your characters would decorate their own rooms BASED on what their state of mind is. How their characters have been evolved, it would directly relfect on the room and items in it. And this would ofcourse change by the choices player makes during the game that can affect them negatively or positively.

Would be a cool detail and it would add some "silent" insight to the characters and where they stand, what they value ect...

An option for keeping your helmet on at all times and maybe even a toggle option that allows you to wear your hardsuit on-board the Tempest.

Even in your ship? ...that would be funny. :D

But I get what you say and I agree. I'd love it if helmets would have somekinda "visor" that opens up when you converse with people (optional!).

Yeah, underlays would be great. I like that idea!

Fallout 4 is handling all aspects of customization beautifully, so I hope ME can follow suit. I think armor in ME2 and ME3 were great, but we could use pieces and especially need better armor patterns and color options. They need to drop sliders for everything that has to do with colors, total freedom with character customization is a must. If I want my character to have bubblegum pink hair I should be allowed to make it that color.

This would be welcome. Inquisition provided a happy medium between iconic outfits and armor improvement.

I like helmets for their intimidation factor (there's some great helmet designs in Mass Effect along with some not too great ones) and because sometimes my Shepard who looks normal handsome in ME2 comes back looking like a testosterone-fueled ogre in ME3.

But I wouldn't object to transparent helmets with visors.

Well according to the leak you will be able to set up settlements on habitable planets, but it all sound suspiciously like what they had planned for Keeps in Inquisition and we all know what happened to that.

Yes, I want to be able to paint obnoxious phalluses and swastikas on my gun, armor and tank/mako/ship like in COD and Battlefield.
