In my mind, in this video, the music is horrible, sucks. What is the relation with the Mass Effect universe ?
To remember mass effect music is just that :

MESSAGE POPULAIRE !
Human beings who can't appreciate Johnny Cash didn't deserve to be born.
Yes, cause two steps from hell in the ME3 trailers are so much more relevant to what actually ended up in the game.
Bottom line, its far too early to get upset about trailer music in contrast to actual game OST.
You're joking right? Not everyone here is American.....country-music isn't for everyone.
I'm not American, and i love Johnny Cash. I thought it was a bit out of place at first, but tbh i think it's a perfect fit.

I'm not American, and I'm not a fan of the country genre in general. Johnny Cash is still one of the greatest musicians of all time, because his works transcend nationality and genre.

Johnny Cash and Mass effect, MAAAASS EFFEEEEECT, space, ship, war, new civilization discovery, friendship, love.................... there is something wrong ? right ?
What, do you mean the bad techno? No thanks, besides the song seems to coincide with the theme of ME: Andromeda. I'm not really a country fan, but if NASA felt country music was important enough to be sent into space aboard Voyager then I would argue Bioware can use a Johnny Cash song for their trailer. In my mind, in this video, the music is horrible, sucks. My preferred genre is hip-hop and old school reggae like ATCQ and Buju Banton...
However! I can respect the greats and legends from other genres like Johnny Cash... I love the song they've chose and it fit will with the trailer. Also "Hurt" is one of my favorite covers done by Johnny Cash... So the man some respect, RIP Mr. Cash!

Nope.
I just hope this game doesn't give a Fallout vibe to it. Never really went into it.
Imho, they used Johnny Cash to misslead the audience. I asked myself what kind of game it could be, it made me think of the terran campaign in the first Starcraft. Once the N7 logo is shown, the music stops and then the typical sounds of ME can be heard.
Besides, contry music gives an atmosphere of far west, pionners, exploration and adventure. This was a damn good choice for an announcement trailer
I think exploring the new galaxy was suppose to have a "wild west" feel. Since you're going to be countless miles away from your home galaxy/civilization. The game will be a lawless land(galaxy) like the wild west was. It would be hard to find a better song for that theme tbh.
That N7 guy is definetly Earthborn because he likes 50's 60's country music. :-)
He is probably proud for that music.
If you like country music, go play at Red dead redemption or uncharted but not Mass Effect.
Vigil's Theme is also right there in the trailer so it's not like they're looking to completely disregard the previous soundtracks.

Not all of us who love Mass Effect are quite so narrow-minded in our music tastes. My own range from Punk, Hard Rock, Psychedelia, Classic Hip Hop to Jazz and Classical and yes even old Honky Tonk C&W music. We don't all just listen to techno ya know? Johnny Cash transcended the mere Country label as he also recorded in Folk, Blues, and his early sides for Sun Records included quite a few RocknRoll numbers. That's why musicians across all genres respected him.

Hush, don't waste your breath.
Anyone who can't even make the obvious mental distinction that trailer music =/= game soundtrack is in all likelyhood physically incapable of understanding your point.
Remember when they used Marylin Manson for DAO? Now that was stupid and inapropriate.
