you obviously haven't read any of the the romance subforum dramas.
No, because I value my life. Such places are more toxic than a nuclear testing site.

Also, I think they're trying to say something about the technology that we're gonna be facing. Ghostriders In The Sky? Sounds to me like they're (the aliens) gonna be up in our faces (or have cloaking tech) before we even know it.
Also, note how the music before this is kind'a set off in the background right until the title of the song. Then BioWare ramps it up to 11. They want you to really hear the title. Then, you'll notice that we jump immediately into the action. Also of note, you'll notice which direction the characters are running. Parallel to the structure, to face oncoming horde of something. What this tells me is that they (the krogan, the unidentified female, and the human (I'm guessing) male) are going to defend the structure from attack.
I
ME music is supposed to be electro & synth.
Well, it's not like this is going to be the in-game music. Pretty sure that will be the same mash-up of SF musical cliches it's always been.
Y'all must be bored to be complainin' 'bout this.
Its a TRAILER people. *facepalm*
And it was probably used to make us think it wasnt Mass Effect until we actually saw #space and the N7 symbole. Guess what? It worked. All the reactions I've seen where the same. Its a TRAILER people. *facepalm*

The trailer is great and the music is nice too.
No many people don't like this music in Mass Effect context
It's. A. Trailer.
Y'know, those things that don't necessarily have to contain music featured in-game.
If it'll bother you that much, just turn down the music volume when you play through a section featuring that style of music - IF the game even contains such music. I'm a bit more interested in how the game itself will play out.
Hush, don't waste your breath.
Anyone who can't even make the obvious mental distinction that trailer music =/= game soundtrack is in all likelyhood physically incapable of understanding your point.

I don't know if ionizing radiation counts as toxicity.
The Cash music made it feel like a Bebop-esque kinda of sci-fi adventure which would be preferable over playing average John Sailor Marine #58000000000 saving the universe from Shub-Niggurath.
To summarize; The Man in black makes everything better.
was the music that bad? I mean this was our elevator music

Yeah. I'm not a fan of Coyboy Bebop, space westerns, space bounty hunting, all that stuff - but I can see myself enjoying a Mass Effect that makes clear that its gist (as opposed to ME1-ME3's 'war against extinction brought on by godlike machines') is significantly lighter. That doesn't mean that it won't have many dark areas and corners to its story, but I'm definitely not against something rather more 'fun' for once. And using the space/scifi western feeling is a way to communicate that. I only hope that is isn't all that MEA has.

I choose to see it as an opportunity to finally play that Smuggler/Scoundrel sort of Han-Solo-esque character I never got experience in the KOTOR games(specifically the first one).
I feel it's a missed opportunity, and would be welcoming and a preferrable change, over playing another space marine like in your common sci-fi shooter of today.

I would like that for you (and other players) ![]()
Though personally, I'll enjoy more if I can take an RP path that is closer to a Liara-without-being-friggin-Liara. That is, that I can be scientifically and technologically progressively oriented, searching out for info. For Shepard, any of that stuff was relatively incidental and most often oriented around either making sure allies could be clear headed enough to fight, or getting the outright (literally or figuratively) weapons to use against the Reapers.
But yes, have all the scoundrel RP options you want!
I love a bit of Johnny Cash myself and the song made my brain hop to Cowboy Bebop, I have no idea if the game's going to have that vibe, but that's where I went. Yeah it was a bit huh? for a moment but at least it stood out against the various cool graphics with more traditional gaming music type trailers ![]()

At least you can counteract the toxicity of nuclear testing sites with Rad-X. There's no such equivalent to the romance subforum.
someone posted that Bioware might pull a "guardians of the galaxy" on Mass Effect.... would that be to bad, it can't be worse than what they have done with it and I actually enjoyed Guardians of the galaxy and their banther more than anything ME2 and 3 produced
add Johnny cash to the mix and they might have a golden hit !
Human beings who can't appreciate Johnny Cash didn't deserve to be born.

Yeah! Let's Dance!
I like this trailer:
lol.
Yeah the music was likely chosen to set the tone of exploring the great unknown. It worked for it's intended purpose.
You're joking right? Not everyone here is American.....country-music isn't for everyone.
Maybe not - yes, taste is a thing, I know that (I for example hate German Folk Music and most Metal Music (normal metal is bearable, but death-metal etc.? - nope!)), still, country ain't so bad (and bashing the music? - well, turn it off an make yourself a background playlist of your own, if you hate what a game gives you -.-)
greetings LAX
this thread makes me hope that they are dropping the generic SciFi music all together. just to annoy people. I mean lets be honest if it were really space the only place we should be hearing music is in towns and on ships. Also I refuse to believe that in the future there is only electronic music.
