The leak did kind of make it sound as if multiplayer might be mandatory.
I hope that isn't the case.
In what way? It specifically said you COULD assign missions to an AI squad you build up and equip or use your multiplayer characters to play them alone or with friends.

Mandatory MP for a SP game is stupid. I play ME3 MP quite often. I like the co-op. I hope ME4's MP is simliar (co-op, screw deathmatch/team-vs-team crap)
However they should NEVER make MP have an impact (minus MAYBE some cosmetic things) on single player.
So if ME4 has MP (which it undoubtly will) I hope it's just like ME3's, co-op.

Force me to play MP to get further into SP will lose me as a fan. I do not like playing MP and do not want to be forced into playing it. That'd be a shitty thing to do.
No wonder you don't get it.

ME3 MP was mandatory to reveal the true potential of the combat mechanics to players. If people'd only played SP, they probably would still hug hard cover, think insanity difficulty is really hard and they never would experience the fun of headbutting stuff.

Multiplayer in the game? Fine. I may even play it. I enjoyed ME3 multi-player. It made ME3 worth keeping around because hell, ME3 wasn't my favorite to replay, not with Starbrat at the end.
Mandatory multiplayer to get the best ending for the game? That's a deal breaker for me. If that's the case I will not be buying this title.
Keep the modes separate. Why? It breaks immersion in the single player campaign. Having the single player campaign depend upon multiplayer sucks.

Exactly. Single player should go.
Yes because I play BW games to be proMLG, and I play Acitivision games for deep immersive RPGs.

Deep and immersive...
An example of ME deep and immersive:
Shep: renegade blahblah
NPC: blahblah response
Shep: Cool. Let's go grab a beer.
So immersive. So deep.

Everyone should have to play it. If you don't want to git gud, then biower will drag your scrubby arse to edong glory.
I hope they include preorder exclusive weapons/characters and free XP or promotions with purchases of Mountain Dew and Doritos. I need to look better than the scrubs that I actually am better than IRL.

MP won't mandatory. Sounds like MP will just provide an alternate path to acquiring new gear as long as the time cost is about the same either way, not seeing the problem.

So maybe it would be better to just create MMORPG in ME universe for all of You.I don't want to be forced to take part in MP if Im buying single player game. If MP will be forced on me to get something in SP game, then BioWare can say good bye to my cash
No thank you. I love Mass Effect multiplayer and Dragon Age multiplayer, but in those games if you want to progress in the game you have to play the game. In most MMORPGs, in order to progress you need to grind. That suits some people (eg. it can be relaxing), but I never played Mass Effect 3 multiplayer (or singleplayer, for that matter) to grind, I played it for entertainment, and personally I doubt there are many people who played ME3 multiplayer for some form of perceived grind - they played it because it was fun.
Having said that, I completely agree that those people who don't want to play the MP experience shouldn't have to, or be inclined to, if they don't want to. However, the question must certainly be raised - what's the point of having a separate MP experience in the same game? Why not split them up and sell them both, SP for $50 and MP for $30, instead of both for $80 or whatever the price tag would be. I understand the reason they kept ME3 together was for a guaranteed MP playerbase, but is that really necessary any more, since ME3 MP was so successful? The simple fact is, if MP and SP are indeed completely independant of one another (like in Dragon Age Inquisition), then there really isn't much practical point in selling them together. Arguably, it's ripping off those people who only want to play one, since realistically they are definitely paying for both. Personally I'll be playing both, so I feel fine, it just feels very illogical to call them the same game if the MP and SP are completely separate from each other. Perhaps there is another way to link MP and SP without giving you direct consequences in the SP experience if you don't play MP - then there's a reason to sell the games under one title.
Personally, I quite like the idea of sustained co-op in single player, where your friends take over control of your normally AI-controlled team-mates (or, rather, import their own). Although this certainly wouldn't replace Horde mode.

Replay value. Been done with sp ages ago. Mp keeps on going like a Terminator.
But whatever, your loss.
There's no replay value to something you don't want to play in the first place. I got MP shooters out of my system a while ago with CS. Even if I were going to play MP, it would have to be competitive MP.

I'd give anything to have multiplayer removed from new Bioware games in favor of a better singleplayer experience.

I'll give MP a look, but if my last ME3MP game is any indication where I couldn't even muster the enthusiam to tap space bar to not bleed out then yeah... might not do so great.
Maybe they'll find some way to keep it fresh.
