Romance options now also determined by ability to talk to girls IRL. Preorders canceled by the millions.Romance options should be limited for those that cannot perform on the field of battle in MP.
After all, love is a battlefield.
And I know this hits some of you weirdos right in the feels.

Not really ripping on you, that's just a me3mp ism. Just saying it sounds like you didn't really play much of it and got discouraged getting downed in matches. It's actually much more challenging than the sp game combat wise, but once you get some skills and head knowledge it can be a ton of fun. The me3mp forum is for all their reputation full of people willing to help out newcomers while they learn their way through that part of the game. Don't tell them I said that though, haha.

There will be multi-player but it will not have an impact on the single player campaign.

I really hope not, that would be a dealbreaker for me. No interest in Mp, so if i was only allowed to reach certain single player features by playing it i'd take my money elsewhere. Something in parrallel i'd have less issue with, my only real concern is that the trend of ignoring decent side/secondary story content with choices might be linked to the emergence of MP.

Yep. The "leaked poll" suggests that if you want better gear, you need to raid certain caves, accessible via MP Horde mode.
Frank, I give Bio the Bird on this one.

I'm not a huge fan of that. I think that the way the handled it in ME3 was great (minus micro-transactions) where it could contribute to the campaign, but if you didn't want anything to do with it, you still could get nearly the same experience.

I never play single player. I hope Biovar isn't devoting development resources to SP, because that would take away from the MP experience.
I'm not telling them not to make it. I'm just asking why they would sell a game with that sort of restriction on how it can be played.
If a player only wants to play the MP, that's fine. If a player only wants to play the SP, that's fine too. The problem arises when a player who wants to play only one is forced to play both in order to get the full measure of the content in the mode he does prefer.
And I don't play the SP in real time, so the way I play has nothing at all to do with the MP gameplay. I pause-to-aim every shot (because I don't think player skill should impact character skill). As such, I've never played an ME game in real time with action shooter combat. MP would be completely alien to me.
And I don't like having to deal with other players. At all. So I don't. I play SP only. I'm not going to touch the MP, and I would be really annoyed if BioWare designed the game such that my SP experience was diminished as a result.
Imagine if you had to play SP in order to unlock MP classes. That would irritate you, wouldn't it?

At my peak I could handle Drell VG on gold. got roped into a game recently and just couldn't get into it. Burnt out still I guess.
Probably should have played Asari infi and just cloaked and dark channelled all the things.

Everyone should have to play it. If you don't want to git gud, then biower will drag your scrubby arse to edong glory.
I hope they include preorder exclusive weapons/characters and free XP or promotions with purchases of Mountain Dew and Doritos. I need to look better than the scrubs that I actually am better than IRL.

MP will be on Andromeda, that's for sure. And I'm glad that it's there for the people that like it.
But please, keep it separate. I've played ME3 MP when it was "mandatory" to get better endings, and I really didn't enjoy the experience, whether I solo'ed it or not. I don't want to be challenged in MP, or play with other people I just want to experience the mass effect story.

I actually never played a multiplayer game on my PS3 until I was coerced into it by ME3. I was kind of intimidated by MP, but I figured I would just play enough to get my galatic readiness up. I got hooked on it... especially after some players took me under their wing to show me how to play.
(Thanks Xain88 for explaining why I shouldn't use drill rounds with an acolyte.
)
I still play and have made some great friends. (If I find you interesting enough, I might even invite you to my apartment.
)
I look forward to the MP experience with "Andromeda". I really don't care if B/W forces MP on the single-player experience - as long as I can still play with an assortment of Ardat-Yakshi characters. ![]()

I don't think this would actually be a problem. Bio SP is traditionally pretty damn easy. If anything, avoiding overpowered gear would be a reason for me to ignore MP.

And turn Mass Effect into Destiny?

So like, screw multiplayer and whatnot. If people like it, that's fine, but I'm indifferent to it, and don't want it to be in any way shape or form a requirement to get anything in the singleplayer campaign.

MP isn't really my bag. I hope it's kept as separate as possible from the single player campaign. I play ME for the story and the character interactions. Running around shooting things in a purely combat-focused environment doesn't do anything for me.

And for some it kinda stays that way. I got into multiplayer a bit in the past, and promoted a couple of times, but it just wasn't enough to keep me really invested.

I completely agree. Will be looking forward to some clarification on the issue. If MP is simply an alternate path to gaining something, that can also be achieved in SP then no problems.

I don't mind needing to play MP, because I want to play MP, but I wish they wouldn't make it something you need to continuously do like ME3.
If it gets to the point where no one seems to be playing public matches online anymore, I don't want to have to try to solo missions or just accept the worse ending if I replay SP.

This is the other problem too. Someone buying it on sale 4 or 5 years after the games initial release is potentially screwed over if MP as the only way to achieve something in SP.

Guess what? Battlefront is going to be the same way as Destiny. My husband cancelled his pre-order when he found that out.
So if folks want a Sci-Fi shooter that's MP only, they should go play Battlefront. Otherwise, I'm perfectly fine with MP being in ME and DA games. However, if they pull any crap like they did with the War Assets in ME3 prior to the patch, I'm keeping my wallet closed.
I only play SP, and if any ME or DA game was MP-only, I'd be happy for those that wanted that style. I wouldn't give them grief or a hard time. I just wouldn't buy that particular BW game. <shrug>

The Extended Cut DLC did make that a non-issue in the end, those those who are inclined for whatever reason could also access the Galaxy At War app in their browser. If you have most or all of the DLC's, it doesn't really matter at all.

Yeah, any BioWare game that ends up MP-only would be the first BioWare game released in a long time that I'd refuse to buy. Before its stillbirth, I wasn't interested in Shadow Realms even before finding out that it was slated to be a PC-only title.
