I didn't feel much depth, but I only played the game once, so maybe I missed out on something.

I mean you can look deeper into the relationships with the ME2 characters just as much as you can with those in Inquisition. And ME2 had the problem of cut offs. At the end of the romance arcs, there was nothing left to talk about or do.

I want that fixed in all future Bioware titles, Andromeda included.

Garrus' was pretty deep, imho.

He was deep into that sparring partner he told me about, A HURR HURR HURR

Garrus' was pretty deep, imho.  I can't speak for the male LIs.  I can't handle the Sheploo gorilla stomp animation, so I haven't tried the ladies yet.

I guess so when he did actually speak to you. He ignored me for like a third of the game!

You're gonna make me blush.  Thank you.   That's a heck of a compliment.

Although...I'm more of a Paragade. :P

I guess it didn't seem like that much when I played ME2 a couple of months ago.  I'll keep a mental note of your post though and keep an eye out next time I play.

Aww.

Here, have a special High Five, from a basset hound as an apology.

I own a basset.  That isn't a pic of my dog Zoidberg, but it works.

If you don't romance Garrus he talks to you a grand total of like two times and the rest is just calibrations.

My last session was all about Kaidan.  So maybe I just didn't notice?  All of the companions dialogue has variations of "go away" if they run out of things to say.  I had more conversations with Garrus as a friend than I did with Jacob or Jack.

Like most BioWare companions he needs the threat of impending death to get over his inhibitions.

That dog doesn't have a clue what they're is doing. You need to look at the other person's elbow when you give them a high five.

How do we know he isn't looking at his master's owner just out of frame?  Knowing the basset, the master is there and probably has a treat handy to keep the dog's attention long enough to take the picture.  :P

They are better at hugging though.  ;)

I don't think that opinion is shared by enough people to make that impact on the devs(bloated options, pointless gating, romances suffered). On the other hand DA2's playersexuality thing was a huge issue that still gets brought up to this day.

But we'll see.

I wouldn't agree with the notion that gating was uncontroversial. Before it was announced there were definite numbers in both camps from my recollection of the threads on the BSN.

There's been cut content found for all the ME2 LI's being bisexual at some point with the exception of Jacob. But that's Jacob and people probably weren't looking very hard. So between that and ME1, it looks like Bioware was flirting with DA2's universal bisexual LIs for a while.

I'm not that upset because Kaidan would still be my first choice for my male Shepard, but FemShep/Miranda would have been amazing.

Wow really? That would have been amazing omg. I would really like to know what the reason for removing so many same sex relationships was. And yes! FemShep and Miranda would be perfect. FemShep and Ashley too. Oh well :/

Oh the gating got a reaction, but it was a reaction from the people that wanted to have all options open at all times. That reaction was expected. The playersexuality response wasn't.

If you're a gay mShep or straight fShep, romance wasn't all too fair. The games really seemed to cater to straight mShep and lesbian fShep. (

ME2 was hard on FemShep lesbian...I was lonely without my ME1 import.

I'm hoping we all get divided up 2-4 options.  As far as I can tell no matter what you give straight male gamers (in RP anyway) some a$$hat will ruin it for everyone whining about how BioWare hates straight man...(this is for you Cassandra skull weirdo guy).

Well, they'll be all vehement and paint all straight male gamers as jerks.  I actually do not think the majority of Straight Male Gamers (SMG) fit in the category; however, percentage wise they are the largest audience.

What I find ironic is the SMG are the least likely to play a romance (they are also the mostly likely to complain about the romance option, but they do have the highest numbers so that is also proportionate). Yet, the pleas of *shaking fist* UNFAIR BioWare almost always come the loudest from the few obnoxious from this group.

I just hope there's enough to go around for everyone, and BioWare does something fun and new like DA:I having a BDSM romance (didn't want to play it but LOVE that it was an option), and introduced a transgender NPC.

Thedas is much more fun than Earth...let's hope the BioWare universes remain as cool.  In countries where gay sex can get you dead, I certainly love what BioWare does for it's audience.  For the SMG, I hope you get whatever chicks you want...but please, if there is one chick that is only gay no whining, we exist in rl too.  I don't get mad when I can't romance the straight fem toons.

I said similar experience that resonates with straight people in particular.  I didnt say his story would make sense if he was straight.  I am trying to say if straight people had a romance subplot that was beautifully done like Dorian's subplot that struck a chord with people in similar circumstances then I have a feeling that gay/bi people would not leave it alone and be pissed off that didn't get to experience it. I have a feeling that Bioware would be forced to change their orientation (since its not explicitly stated what the character's orientation like Anders/Kaidan) so they can experience the romantic subplot.

Cassandra's romance in DA: I is generally considered to be one of the strongest.  I have not seen many people who have done it complain about it.  I have yet to see a lesbian or bisexual gal say, "Oh, her romance is good?  Then I demand that she is now bisexual so that I can experience that with a female Inquisitor!"  Sure there were some gals bummed when she was first announced as straight, but that was more about being denied the strong warrior woman yet again combined with already knowing and liking the character.  It was way before anyone knew how good her romance was going to be.  Most gals who wanted to romance her sucked it up and rolled a male character or decided to let it go.

The problem with DA:I's was that it was so one sided

Its pretty much the Inquisitor just flirting and assaulting the LI's until they give up and "accept"
(obviously exaggerating here but thats how it felt to me)

DA:I easily had the worst romances in my opinion, both previous DA's and ME Trilogy were better in that regard

The romances were more cheesy too

As a straight guy myself, I have no place directly in the LGBT community. Because of this I used to be under the impression that it was somewhat of a united front.

WRONG.

Spoiler

So yeah. Lets have Bioware rep everyone the right way.

Yeah, I have to admit that I'm not too crazy about bisexuals either. I mean, it's rather silly to say that all bisexuals are greedy just because they like both sexes because it's like saying all straight men want to be with every single woman they meet, which is just absurd. However, with bisexuals, I feel that it's pretty much impossible for them to be sexually fulfilled with just one sex. The way they have sex with males and females, and the feelings they get from each, are different experiences and I feel as though a bisexuals are more likely to get the feeling of having an itch they can't scratch with just one sexual partner. Of course, I can see bisexuals that lean more towards one sex having less feelings like this, but the ones that are right in the middle of the spectrum seem more likely to want to have different sexual experiences.

Anyways, since romance is going to be a thing in this Mass Effect, one thing I really want them to do is to make the romance last for the entire game. I want romances to be able to start fairly early and be able to last all the way to ending and through DLCs, kinda like how it was in ME3. In DAI, you could complete the majority of romances the minute you get to Skyhold and apart from one dance in the Winter Palace, it was never brought up again until the ending. It left romances feeling empty, especially after DAII where romances were brought up a couple of times throughout each act.

I also have to say that I'd like to see sex occur earlier in the relationship (or not at all) so that we can see more sensual and emotional parts of the romance instead of everything just leading up to sex. The way Dorian and Iron Bull approached the Inquisitor for sex was a bit skeevy, for example, but I have to say that I really liked that you could turn Dorian down and still continue the relationship.

I'd very surprised if they hadn't expected a reaction to the da2 approach. They simply considered it the most pragmatic solution to providing same choices to everyone without sacrificing choice or content.

Same goes for the LGBT they can play play straight content, so what's your point ? You can't please or represent everyone, if you think you can you re a fool.

And I prefer Bioware to make some solid content for the majority rather than wasting time and ressources for a minority.

Why are homophobic straight people so upset and against diversity in video games........? Like seriously, why is this making you so upset? How is giving LGBT people a fair and equal game and letting them have the same amount of love interests in a video game wasting time and resources?
-
LOL. So many blatantly homophobic comments in this thread and then when those people are called out for their homophobia all they can say is "I HATE SJWS!!11" lmfao.

There was a youtube clip up (can't find it now), of the VO actresses that played FemShep and Miranda have a voiced scripted sex scene that was cut.  Does anyone remember this but me or know where the link is so peeps don't think I'm crazy?

See, but thats wrong. Someone who's bisexual is a human like everyone else;they can absolutely be sexually fulfilled with just one sex. And even if they weren't, thats what the internet is for. Videos for days. Romantic desires and sexual desires don't have to be the same, and just because someone is attracted to more than one sex doesn't make them any more likely to look for more than one partner at a time.

Its stuff like this that Bioware can make moves on portraying. And they have.

Let me ask you a question before a bunch of people jump in and get angry (because they might).  If a straight guy is attracted to both white women and black women, is more unfulfilled if he marries a white woman?  Will he always be craving to scratch the 'black girl' itch?  If a gay guy is attracted to both blonds and brunettes, but ends up marrying a redhead, should the partner be concerned that he's going to troll Grindr for blonds and brunettes because he's unfulfilled with his redheadeness?

It's the same with bisexuality.  Being attracted to something doesn't mean that you aren't going to be fulfilled with your current partner.  Or, at least, no more so than any other monogamous person.
