ME didnt seem to have more male technicians than female. It's like ships. You always make them female. Just tradition. Ships built by men, crewed by men, you give them a female name. It fits better than a male one. Likewise, you have AIs built by men, programmed by men, serving other interests that are likely male-centric. You make them female.
So... Can Romance Be A Little More Fair This Time?

Yes, but this is a story written for the player today, in the real world, not an inhabitent of a fictional one.

I do miss Kaidan. I'd still take Kaidan as a romance over anyone.

But that's actually nonsense. Anthropomorphism things makes no sense. Why is toilet paper different from a ship?

It's not about making sense. It's romantic.
Anyway, don't tell me you don't yell at your electronics when they don't work like the rest of us.

Ah this reminds me I'm not super picky but I require (actually I would just really really like) an LI with an attractive voice. Oh maybe something deep like Wrex's voice I freaking love Wrex's voice ![]()
Also dry/dark sense of humor would be a huge plus

So it's not romantic to refer to them as a male?
It's men who generally build and work these things. So no, it's not very romantic.

Not in the story we're discussing. In the time ME takes place, there are just as many women building these things as men.
Why am I engaging with this? I don't know.

Yeah, but that movie was awful-some. My favorite part is when Cherry originally short-circuits in the kitchen due to the soapy water. As a kid, I didn't think much of it. As an adult, and knowing that bot was used for sex among other things...

Smile, nod, and back away slowly. Look up the movie Street and I are referring to. Then blink, have a good laugh and enjoy the night. ![]()

I think it's because he prefers to yell at the intimate objects as though they're female entities.
It just makes more sense to him.

If a man or a woman is more comfortable with men or finds them to be more pleasant, he or she will make male AIs/VIs, and vice versa. Additionally, I imagine the genderless ones are the most common as they'd be easiest to mass produce and sell. We see this with most mechs who don't have any specific features, that way they can be marketed to all aliens so as not to "alienate" many with a race-specific appearance.
Plus, we've had one male-voiced AI (but also lots more if we include the geth) and a few male VIs already. It's already normal to have male and female VIs and AIs in the Mass Effect universe.
Anyway, my point is whether the AI is a male or a female is dependent on the person or persons who made it. The only reason EDI was a female is because TIM is practically a womanizer and all that BS about women having gentler voices.
If I had an AI, I'd make him a male. Furthermore, since I think English accents are gentler than American ones--and personally more pleasant to my ears (though, I do still love American accents), I'd program him to speak with an English accent. I'm just waaay into men's voices. ![]()
I think an AI romance would be swell, but only if it was an asexual romance (maybe it would be the obligatory "bonus" romance option).

And all still refered to as 'she' in their respective Wikipedia articles. Anyway, that's an inevitable bottleneck when you name ships after leaders and such, given how skewed those positions are between the genders.
