Or sexy mantis ladies.

Okay I know BioWare has a reputation to keep and all, but I think offering a romance with sexually carnivorous aliens might be pushing it a bit far.

I'm also glad to see others out there appreciate Mr. Alenko.  I didn't care much for Anders' broody angst or Dorian's tart sass.  There's nothing wrong with those archetypes, and I'm sure lots of people appreciated them for just those reasons.  Being middle-aged (and kind of boring myself), I think I appreciate solid, dependable and no drama.  (So Kaidan, or maybe just an Irish setter)

One thing I really didn't like about ME1 was how just talking to crew members and pursuing all of their personal commentary was seen as flirting.  I decided to pursue Liara (Kaidan being off the table at the time), and all of the sudden Ashley is freaking out and demanding that I make a choice.  I thought the way it evolved in ME3 with having to deliberately choose flirtation and the "locking" in decision point was an excellent way to go.

The problem is that she was the third in a triad. So it's not clear why - based on her own back story - she isn't a bi LI.

Her background doesn't mean she is bisexual.  She hooked up with a couple.  That doesn't write her sexuality in stone. I do get why people would want to romance her regardless of playing a femshep.  I just don't get the claim that she should be bisexual or gay based on her looks, behavior, or past actions.  It's like saying Cass should be a lesbian because she has short hair and can fight.

@Tishen-13, What can I say, I love Kaidan. :)

I totally agree with you about the relationships. No more prostituting the LIs.  Just let the relationship develop without a "You scratch my back and I'll give you the P/D."  Actually I wouldn't mind it if the personal mission was done only if you form a relationship with the LI.  So it's a matter of you aiding the person you love/care for rather than a bargain for their affection.

And yes please allow some companions to flirt first. Even if I can't romance them

@Yqqdrasil, I liked Dorian and his sass but he still just doesn't top Kaidan, especially when you have to decipher his(Dorian) meaning to nearly everything he says.  It makes me appreciate Kaidan's straight forwardness more. Anders was just a hot mess. I romanced Fenris in DA2 and I love the guy but the broody anger can be a bit too much, but when he did show his softer side.

You're right about ME1, me wanting to know about a companion's life does not mean I want a relationship. I do want the ME1 style of not having to buy their love but I don't want a companion planning the wedding just because I asked them about their day or life. lol!

Sexually carnivorous aliens? Sounds right up Bioware's alley. They would. They HAVE.

Come now, don't be so PC!

After all, it wouldn't be their first.

Though unless I missed one hell of a cutscene she doesn't actually bite anyone's head off during sex.

just because someone is involved in a threesome that doesn't mean they're attracted to their same sex. I thought, when I heard her story, that she wasn't involved for attraction or love. She seemed to be using the sex as a tool to stay aboard the ship.

She didn't just have a threesome, she was part of that triad, and it sounded like it was a pretty happy time for her apart from how that couple died. While I can understand being in a threesome isn't indicative of attraction to a gender, being in a triad, i.e., a longer-term relationship, to me is indicative of more.

'I like human romances so don't make any romances that I'm not interested because I'm selfish and self-centred'

Oh, there is no need to attack my character. :) We all can have our desires and opinions, and my comment never said I wanted to deny all alien romances (except krogan) from other players. If you desire a krogan lover for your PC then you have my best wishes and sympathy, should he crush your PC under his enormous weight or in a blood engorged lust/rage.  :P

Turians and drell can cause harm to a human mate. I wish BioWare had not made it that way, but if hooking up with another species results in possible anaphylactic shock, abrasions, rashes, and hallucinations; I am not alright with that personally. You, however, are more than entitled to enjoy such a relationship. Since I enjoy the idea that a romance can be physical/sexual without harm to my character, and as I do not see that as a particularly healthy situation for a human to engage a krogan, turian, or drell sexually, I am not for it for my character. I also am a straight woman and enjoy straight relationships, thus an asari does not interest me. I also would not want to injure or sicken a male quarian with the bacteria that naturally inhabits my skin's surface and nether regions.

So... yes, I would like a human male as a romance ideally! Anything else would be strictly platonic for me  :D

...But boy oh boy was that N7 guy in the teaser trailer hot

I'd have to watch that scene again, however I don't recall it having the romantic spin you're giving it.

Furthermore, we don't know how they ran their threesome. It's entirely possible that the women only focused on the man and never had sexual contact with oneanother.

I remember that conversation.  It sounded, I don't know, matter-of-fact.  It sounded almost like a business arrangement instead of anything romantic.  I also agree that ladies simply might have had an understanding, and didn't engage with each other.  Plus, I think Jack was painfully lonely, and those were some of the first people resembling friends in her life.  It's more like to me that she was apart of that triad out of comfort and security rather than anything romantic.

Here's an idea.

How about no romances this time? Coming from the Witcher 3 which only had very small bit of romance, I noticed that I didn't really miss it. Maybe just focus next game more on the bonds that the squadmates have with each other without resorting to romance.

That way they don't have to worry about who gets what and wether its distributed fairly.

Heres an idea. How about we stop putting the Witcher 3 on a freaking pedestal and let the other game developers from other game companies do what they want?

Yes to the hot N7 trailer guy!

Can't see his face but I'm picturing a sexy renegade under that armor.

As for Jack, the only romantic relationship( that we know of) she was involved in was with a guy who died trying to save her.

I'm reminded of the bloke who spammed Rule 34 art, notably GIFs, all over the forum as their last hurrah before getting perma-banned. That ... was an evening.

I always feel weird when discussing romance using "me", "my", and "I"; instead of continuously stating that I am discussing romances for "my character", not myself personally.  :P

About the Jack thing, it has been a bit since I played ME2 admittedly but I do recall Jack stating that she did go through both boyfriends and girlfriends and when the game has Jack auto assume that Female Shepards are trying to get with her (which sucks really would have liked a friendship path with her) she does say something along the lines of she doesn't play for that team anymore.

Not trying to say she should have been bi, or straight or anything or saying what the relationships for her were like just pointing out that in the game she did mention more than just that couple she slept around with is all.

I figure the writers should do whatever they think is right for their characters.  Jack not being available to a Fem Shep was the writer's call.  She very well could still be bisexual, but not interested in a lady Shepard.  That happens in life.  Bisexual/lesbian women aren't always automatically attracted to each other.  I can deal with that and I respect the author's decision.

What bothers me was that they had a lot of her inner emotions and friendship locked behind a Magical Penis Wall that could only be breached by a Sheploo*.  That has ground my gears since the first time I played the series.   <_<

*Yes, I meant for it to come out like that.

Yeah, I wasn't interested in Jack as an LI either way, because she just seemed like a really damaged person that just needed a push in the right direction, but I was hoping that Shepard could be more of a friend and mentor, and then it hits that stupid wall.

I felt the exact same way.  I felt like the friendship was cut off right as it really started going.  I know it's within character, but being told, **** Off; and knowing that I had to roll a male character; and shag her to progress with the friendship...felt like a little bit of lemon juice in a paper cut.  It wasn't huge or earth-shattering, but it did sting a lot.
