Kaidan and Ashley are both pretty good. I always save Ash though, she's my Shep's best sis.

Kaidan and Ash were both bit boring, but then every human was. Except Kasumi. Too bad she wasn't LI.

I can understand why someone would say Miranda is boring (I disagree, but I can see why), but Jack...boring

Not liking a squad mate isn't being a hater . A hater..at least in my book is someone who go out of their way to get said squadmate killed . Now that..is Hate .
I personally can't stand either Ash or Kaidan , and I send both to Admiral hackette . Ya meet them back in the last Push though to say the farewell .

Not once in the 25+ times I've played ME3 have I ever sent either of them to Admiral Hackett. If Kaidan is the VS, he's getting romanced and if it's Ashley, then I must have kept her around for a good reason to have left Kaidan on Virmire.
I think I've only done 3 Ashley playthroughs, once for romance, once so I could romance Steve without Kaidan around to make me feel bad and once with a femshep who I "romanced" Vega with. I wanted to see if I could get between their party shenanigans.
I didn't realise you could meet them on Earth if you don't recruit them.
Also never killed either of them during the coup.

Oh you have to recruit them , but when they ask you if they can join you in the Normandy thats when you get the option to tell them both 'Its time they lead instead of follow , and under Hackette they be able to do just that ' ...
Same as Dr.Chakwa if you dont recruit her , she end up with hackette while Dr.Michel take her place .

Hearing Shepard say "you should lead, its not like I don't trust you" was cringeworth. I wanted a renegade dialogue where I said "I don't trust you B! I dont want you anywhere near me!".Oh you have to recruit them , but when they ask you if they can join you in the Normandy thats when you get the option to tell them both 'Its time they lead instead of follow , and under Hackette they be able to do just that ' ...

It could mean that. Are we placing bets on whether it actually does mean that?
It's not like we'd ever be able to prove it since romances are almost certainly going to be in.

I know that people say Kaidan is boring, but I don't care. I love that guy. He's my favorite m/m romance in any Bioware game.
Just curious - did you ever try Cortez?
I mean, the guy has 'we really need to make it up to the long-suffering, long-neglected m/m romance fans' written all over him. As the shuttle pilot, he was very involved in the missions - he also serviced the shuttles while also dealing with requisitions and helping James maintain the armory. On top of all that, he has a fairly involved character arc where Shepard can help him through his grieving process and give him a new lease on life. He's a great character, imho, and I am very happy they finally gave m/m romancers such an exemplary guy to adore.
All that said, I can certainly understand the attraction to Kaidan. He gave you an opportunity to build the relationship over 3 games, instead of just the one. (Which I totally get, btw. I've never tried Traynor, I just stick with Liara.)

Wait, how can you recruit them and send them to Hackett? I'm confused... If you send them to Hackett, do they still show up on Priority Earth? Does Dr. Chakwas?

I love Steve, especially his voice. He's played by Matthew Del N.egro (can't spell that word on here) who I have a massive crush on. The only downsides to his romance is the fact he's not a full squad member so no "in person" goodbye on Earth (and that scene when the Normandy picks your squad up....
) and no coming to your rescue during the Citadel DLC. Also both he and Traynor suffer from Character Creation face when they should have had unique face models, hair and textures. If they went to all the trouble for Diana Allers, they should've at least made the same effort with those two.

You have not pain the walls with their brains during the Coup is what I think the poster means.

I really loved Cortez as a character. I may have loved his romance as much as Kaidan's if he was given the same ammount of content. Liara's and VS's romances were the most explored ones if you ask me.

Steve is my life. I love him so much, even though I only romanced Kaidan (I only finished the game one time). But yeah, he's everything I could have wanted in a romance. He was gay and his sexuality played a role in his arc, but it wasn't the focus like say, Dorian's is. Plus he was a dark skinned minority guy (like me) so I was overwhelmed just by how much he was similar to me. It was such an amazing moment that I almost left my Kaidan path for him. Actually I was trying to play it so that there would be a ME style confrontation, and I would have to choose, but even then, Steve is just like "Nah, you got Kaidan" I was actually kind of upset. Haha. And honestly, I thought he was super attractive (those blue eyes tho....)
Anyway as far as bromance to me:
Kaidan>James=Wrex>Grunt>Jacob>>>>>>Garrus

I wish Vega was the gay one. I love Cortez but Vega was way more interesting of a character. Although I think people were pissed off about the squadmates already, it would've been awful to give them extra ammo of "VEGA REPLACED (Thane/Jack/Miranda/Wrex/Kasumi/Varric/Jenkins/Michelle Bachmann/Emily Wong) AS A SQUADMATE BECAUSE BIOWARE IS APPEASING TO THE PC SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIORS!!"

Personally, I think every squaddie should have had a mission they were required to be on. James was Mars, Liara was Thessia, Garrus was the Palaven moon, and EDI was Cronos. I think Kaidan should have been required at Grissom Academy and Ashley at whatever that Cerberus lab was with Jacob.

I just hope BWare reigns in the writers on MEA so we don't have another Mac Walters/Liara debacle seriously we get it you love Liara but you need to be considerate of the fans your not writing this just for your enjoyment so you can't decide to steam roll the other LIs in favor of your favored LI.
If the next Liara is my favorite romance again, I see no issues in favoring her again.

I've thought about doing an ME3 only play just to do the Traynor romance. I can't go through ME1&2 and not romance Liara, and I'm not inclined to switch partners, so that would be the only way I would ever experience the Traynor romance.
