Also, this board has existed two days; this thread has existed one day; and I'm already tired of the "it's so unrealistic to have more than 10% of the LI's be anything but straight in my science fiction game, even though I'm totally fine with the completely unrealistic idea of having sex with an ALIEN" argument........
Hey, I don't know if you're referring to me, but if you are I'd like to elaborate on the point I made earlier. First off, I can understand, though I disagree with, the argument you're making that it doesn't need to be realistic
romance wise and all that. However the argument you're making, if you are responding to me that is, also appears to be missing my main point.
Let me make this abundantly clear, this is not
my sci-fi game, nor is it yours, it is Bioware's. I have only made statements regarding to what I believed to make sense in regard to sexual orientation. Because let's face it, if only 10% (again, this is an unfounded number!) is gay or bi, how big are the odds that 4/6 squadmates are gay or bi?
This has nothing to do with me bonding with an alien, which is not empirically (as there can be no stats for this), but story/lore driven. It has everything to do with reasonable and logical thinking. I honestly won't make a fuss if they do decide on a 2 straight, 2 bi, and 2 gay division of
romances, as stated before I can bond with characters without the need for sexual desire, but it just doesn't seem like a logical way for things to be.
I am a full supporter of equality, liberty, and so on and so forth, but jamming in the bi's and the gay's just so that no one will feel bummed out about not being able to
romance their favourite character is something I'm not a fan of.
That being said, my main hope is that Bioware will aim to improve upon its main strength, allowing me to bond with my squaddies and other npc's. In the end I don't care if my PC ends up without a relationship, as long as there are characters around he can call friends.
