Is it odd that I kind of want a ruthless maybe semi psycho female LI open to a female player character? Then again I'd probably take a male LI like that too but for some reason I really want a female LI thats open to females to be like that, preferably one that won't murder you by doing the romance like Morinth.

Well the female version of Cortez, straight guys have had a big lack compared to the others on grieving LIs

We had Cassandra already, no need to get another.

Was she mourning a lover? But everyone gave something up other than gay men, so you get female Cortez or Dorian

Regalyan D'Marcall, the male mage from her movie.

@Artemis

Not in ME, though.  In ME, the m/m options have both been 'nice guys'.  I'd like them to swap and give us some space scoundrels and nice fantasy guys.  Swap it up a bit.

I'm sort of hoping for a male Miranda. In personality, not backstory (since Dorian just reused a good portion of the pre-Cerberus stuff in his own way). Cold, calculating, and capable would make for a nice change compared to what we've gotten for m/m LIs in either series.

haha Yes I know, but we all know those four characters were designed to be romanced by the player regardless of the player character's gender, and that's kind of why they aren't so cliche as some other characters in BW games. Plus the only character who makes it plain she's bi is Isabela, and of course she's very promiscuous (b/c promiscuous bi person is a trope the writers fall for again and again).

If DA2 characters were in DAI... Isabela would be bi, Fenris and Anders would be straight, and Bran would be the m/m option lol let's be honest

Anders would still be bisexual since Gaider (his original writer) said he was always intended as such, and his second writer gave him a canon previous same-sex relationship, which is unlike Merrill and Fenris as neither of them have any stated romantic/sexual history other than Fenris's potential fling with Isabela.

I can accept a female Dorian then.

It's not odd at all. It's literally what I've been asking for since I found out Jack wasn't at least bi.

And what straight man would get?

I don't think straight men get anything in this trade, since they aren't actually losing anything. Male Sera  is now straight, male Cullen is now gay, and female Jack is now bi. Everybody wins!

(Note: Mostly I win.)

But we already had Jack, doesnt need another one.
If you want something from us you must trade too.

Well good I feel much less weird then though I think I would want something different than Jack. Then again I wasn't big on her romance so there's a bit of bias in that.

Since I'm disinterested in playing through ME as a male Shepard, I've never played her romance either. I've just watched it on YouTube. While I don't particularly care for the banging her into the picture of mental health aspect of it, overall I thought it was pretty good.

Having said that, mostly I just want that scene where she punches you in the fact in ME3 and then kisses you passionately. I want a romance like THAT.

Regalyan was pretty much a non-issue in her romance arc. The last female LI whose arc prominently features them trying to move on from a past lover like Cortez would probably be Jaheira, and that's quite a while back.

Oh yes that would be much better agreed. Though I think my inner crazy would go 'hmmm needs more violence'. Though its bit hard for me to describe correctly what I mean.

We had Cassandra already, no need to get another.

She was sad about her first love with whom she didn't had any kind of interaction in years. And was nominated only once. A little different from the shock from the death of an actual lover/husband/wife/son/daughter/sister.

I've noticed most of the female LI after BG2 if they had a lover prior the protagonist, tend to be or a bad person, or someone they didn't love anymore/never had. Leliana was betraied by her lover who attemp to her life too, and Isabela was buyed by her abusive husband.

Even Jack, who is with Cass the only female character with a past positive lover in the DA-ME franchise, wasn't in love, but was mostly shocked the guy that died to save her was that much in love with her, because she didn't (maybe couldn't at the time with her emotive state) felt that way too.

Is always "played safe", somehow. Is nothing like Thane, Carth, Cortez, for whom the loss of their loved ones is definitely part of their story. Both Jack and Cassandra's ex stories are just a little flavour to give the romance a taste of sadness/justify why they are slightly reclutant about the realtionship with the protagonist at best.

I see a little double standard in this, or I have happened to find all the bad cases?

No, you are right on the money with that Felya.  Outside of Jaheria (the Typhoid Mary of Carth Syndrome), none of the other female LI's have had recent, emotionally traumatic losses of spouses/partners.  But it's reoccurring for male LI's.  I'm, frankly, a little over Carth Syndrome, personally, but if they have to include it, I hope that it's a lady again.

I'd honestly really like to see a Jaheira again. Still one of the best romances they have ever done, IMO.

Which kinda fits my points, since DAA Anders was a "flirt with anything that moves" kinda guy ... typical BioWare bi character.

You pretty much just fixed her with your penis. But the rest of the romance was fantastic, I thought.

its hard to write a bi character and most people go off there own experiences, not saying its universally true but the few people i know who are openly bi actually fit that stereotype, I have actually asked and all 3 say the same thing "feels good why do i care" go off what you know i guess

Yeah the final scene I believe it was she was crying while they kissed and while he was getting on top of her. Just gave me weird vibes and I couldn't do the romance again.
