Personally I think that Solas wasn't as close with a friend Inquisitor than he was with romanced inquisitor so that's why I don't see any reason why he would have told about the vallaslin to a friend inquisitor or offer to remove it. If he would have done that then it would have watered down his romance quite significantly. He fell in love with an elven inquisitor even if it was a bad idea and he tried to fight against it because he knew it was a bad idea but it happened and he couldn't help it. That is the reason why he became more close with a romanced inquisitor.

 

However I agree that it would have been a good idea to give that information to other elven inquisitors as well but I think there should have been some other way to do that than Solas telling about it. Maybe Corypheus at the end of the game was an attemp to accomplish that,

 

Anyway I don't mind that there are romance specific scenes/information.  I think they make the romances more special but it would also be nice that you could have some scenes dedicated to friendships as well.

 

They could have made it a less intimate scene and I can easily see Solas bringing it up to another elf. The romance scene with Solas could easily be like all the others where they talk or have a romantic scene, and who knows maybe just friend Solas should not go to the fade with him, and that can be special, but Solas was too special than everyone else and left a sour note especially since he was extra for straight women, if he were a bisexual option I think there would be less issue with it.

Solas has a particular identity in the DA:I pantheon we only find out about in the epilogue. PW confirmed that in the romance scene he wanted to come clean entirely, but then decided against it.

I know that. I was just confused because I thought that me and karushna5 were talking about whether Solas would have told about the vallaslin to friendly inquisitor and I don't think he would have done that. If he would have told that to friend inquisitor then that would have watered down his romance. Anyway the reason why he did tell her about the vallaslin was because he decided to not to tell who he was even though that was his orinal plan. So could that scene worked well without the vallaslin thing? I believe so. Should they have done that scene differently because not everybody can access that information? I would say no because that is very important revelation and even though only small amount of people will find that out it is still revealed to some. Besides people will find that out quite easily without romancing Solas and I believe that it is revealed to everybody at some point.

White Walkers don't really have that much known information in the books so it would involve a lot of conjecture on your part,however i would not mind reading your ideas.

Assuming that those of us who enjoy romance stories, and chatting about romance stories, are automatically relying on them as a form of wish fulfillment because we don't have functional real life relationships is silly. It's as silly as saying that a horror genre fan is inherently violent.

When Dragon Age 2 did it, people complained about how unrealistic that so many companions were Bi. 

 

To be completely frank, having more than one character out of the entire cast of companions not be straight is unrealistic, so the question is, how realistic do you want this to be?

I mean I agree, DA2 was just weird, with basically everyone being attracted to you meaning you had to friendzone people which made it seem like you weren't truly friends with anyone except people you couldn't romance.

I'm just pointing out, the realism argument runs into the issue of choice/fairness, because....well, demographics ain't fair.

I really do see your point. I can see some aspects they could have done better, and I agree with you that Jack's story would have made just as much sense if she were bisexual. I just see a little more sweetness in this story than I see flaws.  

 

Well sadly i think BW always goes straight first and then "if they have time" a character gets cut scenes and voice over for s/s romance as well.

Yeah I know; I was in that thread at the very beginning, before I took my long break from the BSN lol And really, Natalie Dormer? Maybe it's b/c I'm not into girls that I find this surprising. She seems very femme. For a female KISA I would want someone like Aveline, Cass, or Aria. Bad ass woman who sweeps me off my feet, sigh. I really would love to play that sort of f/f romance. But I'm a romantic lol big surprise. As for James Purefoy, I googled him and he's pretty good-looking. Any 30-something rugged type man would work for me, any hair color, race, or ... species lol
