Miranda also survives being shot at that point regardless of her loyalty.

What I find weird is that Zaeed isn't a correct choice for the fire team leader. He's got proven leader experience and even though it ended in betrayal, so did Garrus' leadership and he gets to count as a valid choice.

Yep.  I've seen it.  I just prefer to have Jacob up front.  Despite the tone in the auto-dialogue, I never minded the character.  Flirting aside, it didn't take me 3 plays of ME2 just to like him.

I've read it's because that Zaeed prefers to get things done on his own.  That he doesn't like anyone relying on him and that he wasn't really the same after Vito kicked his butt to the curb.  Plus, it doesn't help that no one really likes Zaeed in-verse.  Miranda might not be as well liked, but she was proven capable and didn't need to be punched to stay focused on the mission.  He doesn't even get a spot on the Memorial Wall if he dies in ME2.

My selection is usually this:

Vents: Legion, since he is both the best hacker and can best withstand the heat(though Tali does have a funny line in ME3 if she was in the vents).

Second Squad Leader: Garrus, because he was able to keep a squad of 12 alive against all of Omega until he was betrayed from within.

Survivor Escort: Kasumi, because she knows more about evading detection than anyone else.

Biotic Bubble: Samara, because Asari Matriarchs are the strongest biotics in the galaxy.

Poor Zaeed. Nobody loves him.

I actually use Garrus all the time for that one.

Man, I love Zaeed. And Kasumi.

One of the depressing things about ME2 is that two of my favorite characters ended up being the two least integrated ones (for obvious reasons, but still).

Can you really compete with not-Varric, though?

Agreed. I didn't care so much about female LI's we got in ME. Kasumi would have been perfect.

Ditto. Garrus as 2nd team leader, Legion in the vents, Samara as biotic specialist, Mordin as escort and two squishy mates as company for myself. Usually Jack (Shockwave vs. Husks and Abonimations is awesome) and Tali or Kasumi.

I still wish I could have romanced Kasumi.

Ditto. She's fun.

She was funny, she was reasonable, she even was a romantic. She would have been absolutely perfect.

The shroud explodes just seconds after Mordin finished tinkering with the controls to counteract the sabotage. Even if he ran to the elevator, it would have simply gone down with the rest of the tower.

Mordin dying was just another reason to kill off a character. If he was able to detect the temperature malfunction on the ground using the console in front of him, why couldn't he use that same console to fix the malfunction?

Wow. Miranda is almost unkillable in the suicide mission. You're in an exclusive club.

She's easy to kill. I've killed her both being loyal and non-loyal. I even did a playthrough where she was the only one killed

I think they meant Thane could have shot Kai Leng when Kai Leng had his attention on Shepard.

That whole scene was a joke

1) If Kai Leng is an assassin like they say he is, why didn't he kill the councilor right away before Shepard jumped out the window?

2) Thane standing with gun pointed at Kai Leng's head and not firing. What happened? Was he distracted?

3) After Leng is knocked to the ground, Shepard and squad stand around with their hands/paws/claws/tentacles whatever up their fifth point of contact doing a whole lot of nothing

4) Thane wants to play chicken with Leng. What a dumba**. He deserved being stabbed. Idiot

5) Commander dumba** asks Thane How bad is it?

The same can be applied to Kirrahe. The guy stands there in cloak mode doing a whole lot of nothing when he could've fired at Leng

Yep and it's only loyal characters that survive.

Nope. Both loyal and non-loyal can survive depending on what the player does.

I did a playthrough having 6 loyal characters killed on the suicide mission.

The worst loyalty-related death is easily Zaeed in ME3. If he dies in that room in the Presidium Commons, he dies to the sound of the Presidium theme. That's just not right.

he was a merc who survived a shotgun shot in the face, but can lose to random nameless merc because he doesnt like Shepard.

The best thing you can do with anything Kai Leng-related is to just pretend Kai Leng never existed and move on from there.

Hey, guys since we are getting a bit off track...

What kind of romance do you want?

I still want a lesbian Vetran type.

or maybe a tough/capable alien

Really I love them, but a few less sweet options would be nice. Between Merrill, Leliana, Liara, Sam Traynor, and Josephine maybe a tough/cool/hardcore lesbian/female bisexual option?

What I have a problem with is that if a loyalty mission isn't completed in ME2, 4 of the ME2 characters die no matter what in ME3. Miranda, Zaeed, Grunt and Kasumi. That's pathetic. I guess worrying about whatever is more important then keeping themselves alive.

I also liked Tali, though they could have done things better for her in ME3. Showing her face really should have been done in the romance scene and been fully modeled rather than an altered stock image.

I'm assuming that not-Shep's gender would still be up to the player in this hypothetical, but with an otherwise 100% female crew who are all down to clown regardless of lady bits or dongly parts.
