                                                                                                    <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

I'm more interested in getting what I paid for.

That is a game with a good story, fun to play, interesting side quests and stories, live environments, real choices with real consequences that bite you in the butt down the road, proper feedback with negative political/military consequences and not just a line on the story board.

For example:

Scouts, agents or military teams get wiped out in the field and you must recruit/build them all over again. Perhaps have limited resources that once lost stay lost until you find others.

Have, NPCs that react/comment on your past actions, squad mates that also react with positive/negative comments to you and other mates, possibly an alien squad mate that refuses to be with another mate, make the a game with proper PC keyboard controls, able to name and save your game, ability to import your CC creation on another playthrough., no grinding quests or looking for shards, please.

Have exploration that means something and avoid DAI's vast areas with no content and boring quests.

Oh, gear upgrade mechanics that tell you your current and upgrade stats at a glance, avoid a clickfest in your inventory management, have treasure hunting that actually give you something and not another elf root or ripped pants.

Limit romance options to one straight, homosexual and lesbie, in order to increase the word budget on character development, humourous chit-chat, jokes and so on.

And, for God's sake, avoid static NPC town environments. with statue like NPCs recycling over and over their scripted lines.

Last, don't force me to play online to get better gear.

I wonder if Bio will have another contest to choose one or more fan(s) to  voice a NPC?

I want to be surprised, but maybe that's just me.

Every general orientation should get representation, no questions asked. That's the video game bit that has to be established, before paying attention to writing details. Yet to demand this & that many choices for each, to make up for potential personality incompatabilities, just seems to turn this even more into an ironically methodical, calculated act. That's the risk you have in romance, pure and simple. I liked none of the ladies' characters in DAI enough to be lovers (and no, both Cass and Josie are incredibly beautiful IMO), so my straight male Inquisitor stayed single.

If they release all romance options prior to release again (which in my opinion is nothing but a big fat spoiler way outside pre release hype material city, that considerably takes away from the discovery) I shall write a strongly worded, yet 140 characters limited, letter to the BioWare PR team.

P.S.: I know this is a little extreme & you can't do that anymore in the day & age of pre-release checklist scouting, but personally, I wouldn't even want to know who's a companion for that matter. In the old days of RPGs, my favourite moments in the entire games were mostly those, in which it became clear a cool NPC would permanently join you. Not demanding, just saying.

To this point, I'd like to see a more "forward" companion in a BioWare game. We're always the instigator. Wish they'd break that mold. After the backlash from Anders in DA2 (Help! He is shoving his sexuality down our throat!) I don't think they'll ever try again. Unfortunate, really.

I would love my hero to be pursued as well. Sadly, your presumptions may be correct. :(

To be realistic with the canon, they would send a number close to zero homossexuals in a COLONIZATION fleet.

Homosexual males still have sperm and homosexual woman still have ovules, so they can still produce children. Of course, they wont enjoy sex but sex is for making babies, not having fun... Right?

They bought this awful fanbase when they stared having romances. So they either pander to them or try to slowly weed them out by pandering to the Cod crowd.

Far as romances go, I'd prefer they go the route Dragon Age Inquisition took;multiple sexualities explored, characters having their own likes and dislikes in a romantic partner, that being taken into account. Mass 3 had Steve and Samantha;those were nice. More of that.

I don't think there has to be any fairness. I want the characters to be treated as people/aliens. I don't want them to be treated like a checkmark on a list. Even if that means I as a straight male gamer have less options than someone else, assuming the character I play will have the same romantic preferences I may have(which I doubt given the entirely different setting).

*looks over at husband*

*looks at her one kid*

*does some quick math* Nah.....sex is all about the fun. If I hadn't have wanted to raise a Vikings fan.....I probably wouldn't have had any kids. ;)

Hated the waifu-mary-sue Liara romance in ME.....

And how creepy femshep was at hitting on the squadies in ME2 (especially with Jacob...ergh)

Now the 3 game arc for the Garrus romance.....*sigh* THAT is a romance. (friends...fwb....lovers)

(and yes, I know Garrus was a 'fan-service' romance)

BW is trying to much to bring new fans, but the ones that play their entire game, buy all dlcs and spent most time playing mp are us

I don't touch Multiplayer in these games as they taint what Bioware is. I only ever did in ME3 because it was required for the..."Best" ending.

Are you really this thick? Do you really think their answer to mass reproduction of the species is to use enlisted straight women as sex slaves? If they wanted to accelerate reproduction it would all take place in vitro; no heterosexuals required.

If its again a trilogy, I hope there is no new LI in the next games.
To me, Liara romance arc was beautiful, my favorite romance arc of games, and part of it is because it spanned 3 games, I saw their love bloom, they fighting, they making up and discussing their future. I think only Witcher made something comparable with Triss, so I hope for bioware to sticking with them for the entire trilogy.

Would be really cool to have the same squad members throughout the whole trilogy, but only if it's a trilogy. Would people be able to handle having the same squad for every game? I know I would like that idea. We would really be able to grow with the crew/LI.

Agreed.

Brute for Turian/Krogan romance, make it happen BioWare.

I was thinking more of Elcor romance. We're distant cousins, or something. I think. I'm not really sure, I'm not an etymologist.

I prefer DA2 style. Small number, make them romancable for both genders, and focus romance content and good side story and some main story content resources on them.  I hope they don't pull a DAI.

Regardless of how the romances turn out, I hope that this forum doesn't get overrun with romance mania like the DA:I one was.

Yeah, It's not like they literally had to close an entire subforum a few months after the release of a Mass Effect game before.
