Too late. There a dev quote pretty much confirming romances (specifically alien romances) being included.
To be honest, I think the romances are worth it. I know it can be an issue on BSN, but I'd hate to see them remove them altogether. If they did a new IP, then I'd be cool with them not having them (although I'd be disappointed, to be honest). I'd rather not see them remove them from already existing IPs.

Hmm. I must begrudgingly admit you have tempted me to shift my position. If necessary, I'm pretty sure I would be willing to... "be" this romance option for the BioWare fan base.

For one, the more romances you have, the less budget and animation work can go into plot. I for one agree with OP. Either remove romances or lower it so there's only 2 or 3 at tops.

Tbh i'm sick of them beeing there just because. Do them well or don't do them at all. They should play a part in the story not just some obligatory fanservice/****** inspiration.

I like romances, too, but I think this time if they don't have one I like, unlike with DAI, I'm not gonna freak out and spiral into a depression; the ME world is just too amazing for me to be that broken up over a romance option. Yeah I enjoyed finally getting Kaidan for my BroShep but I think I still would've loved the series even if I hadn't. ME awesomeness stands on its own apart from romances.
That saying, still hoping and praying for cute quarian b/f

Their older games didn't have romances, like Baldur's Gate 1.
