Roleplay without romance...doesnt sound like a good roleplay game to me. And who said you have to do them?

Maybe there should be an option to not romance anyone and instead just stay home and masturbate......wait. It's still kind of a romance, just........just with yourself..........hand specifically.

Tali tried making a thread suggesting that with Nervestim Pro and she got banned for "trolling". I guess asking to bang a 1000lb battletoad or having 50% of your crew be LGBT is far more sensible than fappin'.

For reals? That's just silly. So romancing a krogan is more sensible than staying at home in your captains' quarters and 'taking care of yourself?'

Biover pls.

For once, I'd like to see a fan service based on quality and not on quantity, meaning: I'd want something similar to the 3 romance options of Mass Effect, and not to the many romance options of ME3 where the romances started in ME2 (Jack, Miranda, Kelly, Thane, Jacob =) had a very small part compared to the others.

They are worthless. Few dialogue lines, maybe a sidequest, and maybe a 15sec video in which you may see some ass. Only losers could focus on that aspect on the game, and bioware shouldn't support their patetic fetish, or whatever it is.

Go make your romances IRL, I had enough of you, and with me there are so many others.

I have an idea: make romances completely optional. So if you're a gamer who doesn't like romances you can simply avoid them and live happily ever after.

Heck, this sounds so crazy it might even work!  :o But I'm already seeing the downside, it would shut up both pro and con romance camps and people need to complain about something. So forget what I just said, carry on!  ^_^

I bring you grave news. Romances will be in every Bioware game from now until the end of time (or until they go out of business which greatly hinges on the success of their next few projects). Even their MMO had romances.

I highly suggest those of you who argue against romances to save your breathe (fingers?) and time, because there is about a 1% chance that Bioware will make an expansive rpg game without romances. I get that you don't like it, but it is always optional (although in KotOR it kinda felt mandatory, lol). Ranting and complaining accomplishes nothing (save I suppose gaining attention).

There are always elements in every game that you won't like (perfection is a far off idea that isn't likely to be seen anywhere in reality), whether it is MP, SP, Romances, silly QTE, exploration, silly Planet Scanning, MAKOs, combat mechanics... the list goes on forever because there will always be things in every game that you won't like. Even your favorite game of all time had room for improvement.

I would tell Bioware to break their chains. To stop being slaves to the romance obsessed cultists and SJWs.

But Bioware won't do it. They have been beaten into submission. They are Reek.

I don't think it makes sense to conflate people into romances and people you'd label SJWs. Remember all those "Cassandra is too much like a dude" and "When will we get proper straight dude options" are very much not the prototypical SJW posts.

I think they might fall into Recon's category designation of romance obsessed culltists.

Three romances? I plan on at least five play-through's. I will need more than three.

I'm against romances for two reasons:

1.) I'd like to see the promancers wither in emotional pain when there is no one to romance

2.) The devs should spend their time and resources to cater to my ideas of how to make a good game only

But that's just me, I'm probably alone with this way of reasoning :/

A good romance should test mind and body. If you can´t provide a challenge for yourself and the player, don´t do it at all.

Improve your romance and train harder.

Best written romance in Dragon Age: Inquisition was Solas. Why?

Because it was:

A. Very relevant to the plot.

B. Had the two characters face a real challenge in their growing relationship.

C. Pulled at your heartstrings.

D. Left you hopeful that somehow someway, love will prevail.

When was the last time we had a romance like this?

Bastila Shaan and Morrigan. Two of the most beloved romances in Bioware history.

The "flirt, flirt, flirt, flirt, initiate romance, love scene, romantic scene" formula has grown very stale. A romance should flourish between the PC and the Love Interest naturally, working together through everything that opposes them and depending on each other. Needing each other.

Makes sense. If there are no scars to show for it, why bother? I'll mark you down as 'pro-Krogan Romance.'

Ahh the inevitable resources put into something i don't value are bad, resources put into something i value are good nonsense.

I saw it more as an experiment, but yes, it would allow for them to do other things with those resources. Why cherry pick the one line?

I don't mind romances. But I kinda understand people who don't want them in games...

I say, either make it a relevant part of a game connected to the main plot (like Bastila+Revan, my most favorite love story of all time , Solas+Lavellan kinda also fits, though it is unfinished), or don't include them at all, don't waste resources and time, which could be spent on more important things.

I grow tired of people's romantic fantasies in my games. Write fanfiicfion and keep it out of sight.

Did you ever stop to think that there may be a reason for that? I imagine many developers don't want to have it become a "thing" in their games like it has with Bioware. I have seen people on this forum flat out say that they would not buy a new Bioware game, no matter how great everything else looked, if it did not include romances. No, this is a problem and I can't imagine Bioware is very happy about having to satisfy their fans' lust for digital characters either.

It'd be one thing if Bioware actually tried to make the romance mechanic feel natural, or at the very least try to improve it in some way, but they don't. The entire mechanic is so contrived and unbelievable. Characters will literally fall in love with you just because you picked the heart-shaped icon or gave them enough gifts. Do you not see how ridiculous and silly the whole thing is?

                                                                                                 <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

There is a limited word budget assigned to each character. Remove romances and those saved words can go to the developmet of a more indepth character/story or subplot(s).

They are worthless. Few dialogue lines, maybe a sidequest, and maybe a 15sec video in which you may see some ass. Only losers could focus on that aspect on the game, and bioware shouldn't support their patetic fetish, or whatever it is.

I assume because actually reading the whole post would have been too much work for them. Imagine if I had gated responding to the thread behind several heart-labelled dialogue choices!

Depends on your definition of fun.
