I gotta say I barely remember what I wrote the previous few days, it felt really inspired though.

You mentioned you were through posting in this thread in many different ways.

There was some mild mockery over just how many times you were inspired to proclaim it.

[/helpfulness]

BSN is certainly not for the faint of heart. On the upside, the experience has made me a lot less likely to get phased by internet insanity. If that is actually an upside.

Psh. I cut my internet teeth with die-hard communists, French socialists, and a Canadian who survived autoerotic asphyxiation.

Ah, good times.

Coincidentally, where I live, I could walk out the front door and meet all three in the form of the same person.

Good thing you put in the second paragraph because the first seems to be exactly what you're complaining about!

How so, exactly?

Hmm. I must begrudgingly admit you have tempted me to shift my position. If necessary, I'm pretty sure I would be willing to... "be" this romance option for the BioWare fan base.

i'm ready

I think he just meant the clarification was important to distinguish your point as being a broad observation as opposed to a specific criticism of those suggesting romance receives too much attention.

Well no actually I do remember that was not quite accurate, I remember "this place is toast" and "I think I might write them to tell them this place is just a troll haven and they're better off without it," and even "I guess I'm done trying to make serious contributions," but never "I'm not ever pressing the post button in this thread ever again."

Even with closing down the forums part I was thinking it would just be the general forums and maybe a few of the feedback forums, the story, campaign, and characters ones seems all right.

However, the simple fact is that when it comes to the topic of Romance, or even sexuality generally, this place is 98.9% in the hands of the ME2/ME3/DA2 crowd, which has this very specific, very inaccurate view of what's best and yet they're in every single thread determined to essentially mind control everyone into their pre-programmed notions and are simultaneously utterly resistant to being improved in their perspectives.

It's even more problematic when you consider Bioware's version of sexuality was skewed and wonky from the beginning, at this rate, it will be positively unrecognizable and indistinguishable from the main. The extreme pandering in DA:I was positively Hollywood grade.

What annoys me the most is many supposed "fans" are just trendsters with a half-arsed view of all kinds of things and want to co-opt the stuff of people who have actually demonstrated or built interesting ideas in this regard for their own pet morality projects.

Forget game criticism too like levels and balancing, you mention anything other than a Bioware or AAA game and people look at you all skeptical and funny like it's some creepy unknown and can't possibly be of value. People should really embrace the joys of Plok and Jammit, as well as the notion that sexuality is not this deep impenetrable phantom with limitless boundaries and impossible understandings.

And yet despite all of that, having people who are just avid learners and fans of games would be all right, it seems to me gaming has just divided into two spheres, the one that craves the acknowledgement of this global society or something, and is willingness to sacrifice portions of the spirit of gaming to do it, and the side that believes the essence of gaming is a lion that need not concern itself with the opinions of the sheep.

The ultimate result isn't some great triumph, it just means people will keep looking and build new things, it's just energy drain in the end for everyone.

Haha! Well at least that was a bit funny... for reasons I don't really get.

Good thing you put in the second paragraph because the first seems to be exactly what you're complaining about!  Anyway, I think as far as people not saying  what would be better, I think many see that they don't like it but don't see the limitations of writing an optional romance as a small part of a much larger game.

That is most certainly true. I'm always checking myself to make sure I don't do this when I analyze characters.

That's because she is what she's complaining about...

Don't get the pitchforkArtifice! Truce! Pax Romana! (Or something)

Oh no not quite, if I see more intense criticality and condescension with miragery disguising it as consensus building, I might find myself commenting on that in one way or another, if I happen to be here, which, who can say. You and that Servo guy are in a league of your own.

What I mean is though all things considered, you don't seem like a bad person or something, I'm not really sure why we keep ending up in the same threads going back and forth about one thing or another seems somewhat odd, because at it's heart you basically just seem like a hardcore ME2/ME3 fangirl which is not the kind of person I really have many problems with, just sometimes enough to comment on their video game ideas perhaps.

Besides, all is fair in love and war, if someone is spellbound by another, whatever the means, then vae victus.

I think it had been suggested more than once that the issue may be your memory. Allow me to help - you have made no less than 7 comments in the last 10 pages clearly stating that you were done posting in this thread.

Does that help?

Because you were criticizing those who criticize romance as just wanting to criticize because it's cool and makes them feel smart. Without actually debating any specific points or building a case for why the romances are good, the same claim could be turned right back at you.

I remember suggesting one time in the DA:I feedback forum that I should keep count of how many times this happens.

That was... a long time ago.

Meh. I really don't like Quarians. If there is a moment where I have to make a choice for someone on my team to die, he would be my first pick.

If I had to choose for another team mate that had to die, I'd try to revive his dead corpse and kill him again. Renegade +25 ;)

Only female Quarians matter to me, but I guess you can't have one without the other. -_-
