So let's talk outfits. Specifically the way the game should handle alternative outfits because I've yet to see this done well. Introduced, as far as I can remember (feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) Mass Effect 2, we had 'Loyalty' outfits available for selection once you'd completed your companion's personal quest. In Mass Effect 3, they where just there, available either from start or DLC. The bit for me where you're going wrong is in the "available for selection".

My Wife doesn't decide what I'm wearing that day when I get up in the morning, I just put on whatever is appropriate for what I'm doing that day, if I'm in the office I'll put on a suit, going the gym, I'll wear a tracksuit or shorts (depending what time of year it is), or if I'm walking the dog, I'll throw on a pair of Jeans and if I'm chilling around the house I might put on a pair of slacks. Pretty much what we all do.

So why is it any different in the game? Why should the protagonist (me) decide what my crew (companion) is wearing at any given point? Make it feel more natural, more real. Have your companions wear what's appropriate for the situation. Going in to battle? They don their armour. On duty on-board your ship? They put on their uniform. Wondering around a city (hub), they put on whatever they wear when off duty - dress or jeans or whatever and have this completely automatic and independent from any player influence.

Armor complete with helmets when necessary and no highheels or boob windows is a good start. It's Mass Effect, not A$$ Effect of F@P Effect. This is a serious hard Scifi IP that totally doesn't have an entire race of blue alien female supermodels that isn't a joke, and it should be treated as such.

I really wouldn't mind having "Loyalty" mission outfits again, and I think companions having casual clothes on the ship during personal conversations/romance scenes would be nice.

Also having a armor tint option like in DA:I would be cool for squad mates.

It's not the outfit but the manner in which the game handles the character wearing that I mean. I think it would be a nice feature if it was specific to the circumstances of the moment rather than scroll through a bunch of clothes you until you find the one you want them to wear. Like I said, most of us aren't in the habit of being dressed by someone else, so why would your companions accept the same?

It's a gameplay/story segregation. It allows us to customize party as we wish (and in ME3 choosing the little bonus).

Anyway, I expect the system to work more or less as in ME3. What I hope (squad customization equal to PC customization) isn't gping to happen.

""Like I said, most of us aren't in the habit of being dressed by someone else, so why would your companions accept the same?"

Why? Because it's a game and they're not real people. I get what you're saying but if I want my companions to wear a certain armor skin because it looks cool, then I'll set it as that, not randomly wearing different kinds of armor "because the companion should choose what they wear" as if it's a real person. It would be cool if they had different outfits for different situations, rather than being in a bar with a companion on a side mission and they're wearing their armor. That said, as far as I can remember (I haven't played the games in like 4 months), they did have an outfit that they wore when they were on the ship...

We've never had control over the companions' casual attire, if applicable, so there's that. Whatever we determine our companions to wear in combat, they're probably just going to wear whatever they want to when they're not in armor, or wear a standard issue uniform.

Just gonna say this once. If they're gonna make those sexy suits that puts emphasis on "dat ass" or just armor that looks like designer's wear, then please also give us proper armors as alternative skins, like in ME3 (and not boob armors). I liked that all characters had a very iconic cloth-based set but then had some actual military gear too.

I do strongly believe that this game will have a loot-based armor system though. Just a hunch, since it's exploration and all.

If it has DA:I's crafting and tinting system but with Mass Effect armors I'm gonna jump for joy!

DA:I's crafting system is crap and the outfits simple re-skins of one another. There's about three or four different modles of armour in the game from memory and none of them are particularly armour looking. In fact, one was described, rather accurately, as Medieval Blade (Trench coat).  Don't really want to see that in the game. Plus there was nothing wrong with the cat suit that put emphasis on "dat ass" because Miranda was meant to be a Femme fatal. I don't see constant moaning about Nikita or any other femme fatals so why are you moaning about it being in a game?

Japanese school uniforms for everyone on the team. I've always wanted to see a krogan in a skirt.

I like Miranda's outfit (Though the camera focus on her ass were unnecessary). I didn't like being forced to have that outfit in combat, along other squadmates.

Her Cerberus Armor should've been part of the main game

You are playing a party-based roleplaying game in which you the player exert control over the party members, which includes choosing the gear they are equipped with.

I think that would be cool in someways, but if there is an outfit that I find particularly unappealing, I'd probably want to be given the chance to say, "Yeah...no."

On another note, I really do not want to see anymore of this lack of armour for companions and only having options for civvies when on missions.

In the case of ME3, the outfits have combat effects. Which effects are better depends on playstyle. Since the NPC AI isn't currently good enough for us to have a discussion of the merits with the NPCs, putting outfits under PC control is a reasonable second-best, just as it is for weapon selection and modding.

If it's just cosmetics, then yeah, let's not have the player involved with it.

I don't see the problem with boob windows if it fits with the character's personality and  its not an armor that is supposed to protect her... like a casual suit.

I understand. But, this requires artista to come up with suitable sartorial choices and then make them = time and money and resources for little value to BIO.

They should make helmets mandatory.

I'd love to see for how long the "realism" nonsense holds up until that exact same people starts asking for suicidal exposed heads.

I'd like each person on our team to have multiple outfits that we can alternate through. Maybe we'll stick to our favorites. I definitely don't want to have to pay for extras.

CDPR spoiled me with Yennefer's alternate and the free armors for Geralt.

I guess because it just seemed kind of silly that the low cut catsuit was also somehow a space suit.
