Personally I hope ME:A takes a page from DAI with companion outfits/customization

I was thinking the same thing. I absolutely adored the way that the costume was tailored to the characters. I think assigning outfits to our squad members made enough sense in the first ME series, because we were usually the leader of an ostensibly military group. But it's more fun if I get to see them do their own thing with an outfit.

I only wish there was a way for us to exert some more of that creative control over our own PC's wardrobe, even outside of color options.

But I do have a rough idea of how difficult that would be for the Devs to implement.

Only way I can see it is if Bioware went deep into crafting

Yeah, I don't necessarily think they should. I know resources for designing a game aren't quite as simple as "put some effort over here, lose some effort over there," but it does seem like focusing that much effort into personalization would be too much.

Clearly, what I need for my wish to come true are just magic personalization spells mods, but I'm on Xbox One these days, so.  :(

Chin up Artifice. At E3 Todd Howard of Bethesda revealed that Fallout 4 on the Xbox One would be able to have PC mods installed. Means console gaming is getting one step closer to having regular modding like PCs do.

Dream.
