I was really hoping for a post-Destroy "Firefly" kind of game...

...with a veteran of the Reaper War roaming the rebuilding galaxy with a rag-tag ship and crew.  Maybe being a good guy, helping restore colonies, cleaning out pirates, taking on smugglers of reaper remnants.  Or, playing in the shadows, looting destroyed/deserted colonies, shaking down desperate refugees, challenging Aria for control of Omega...

This is...meh, so far.  WAY too early to judge, but after ME3, Bioware doesn't get much benefit of the doubt with me anymore.

And i want a Post Synth game where we explore the transhumanisim that would come about.

Can't always get what you want.

I wanted them to go with refuse and take it 50000 years into the future.
this is a good compromise though.

Or a mercenaries stiyle game during the reaper war but away from it. its there and we are here sort of thing.

Edit: goddam mobile.

I want a game where you build a house for Tali on the homeworld, but I accept that she and Shepard are dead and buried in the time that this game is set  :(

It's way too early to know what's going on really.

I wanted to be the first turian male stripper on the Citadel, gyrating for credits, and moonlighting as a vigilante taking down red sand dealers, weapons smugglers and slavers in the wards.

I'm actually quite excited from what little we've seen. 4~ years of dev time if the current release goal stands. I hope it is a more "personal" story. I don't really want to jump right back into the "end of the known world" mode right after Mass Effect 3.

I would love for a Firefly type setting with minor but morally grey choices (Telltale Games like). If it is an exploration/open world game I hope they improve greatly from DA:I. DA:I was a step in the right direction, but BioWare has a lot of edges to smooth out.

Anyways with Fallout 4 looking amazing and The  Witcher 3 the RPG bar is set pretty high for 2016 to top 2015.

"Something new" doesn't have to mean "toss the entire previously established galactic setting into the bin."

ME3 already did that one. And ME2 did it before it to a large degree. And ME1 did in the "let the council die" endings. In fact, it's pretty much a staple of the series to discard a substantial amount of the past lore.

You're right, it doesn't.

That's why we shouldn't assume it does. All we know is that the player character is in Andromeda. Things we don't know yet include, but are not limited to: why they are there, how long they have been there at the time we meet them, who else is with them, who else came independently, how much contact they'll have with folks back home, and whether it is possible to return.
