It's not necessary or vital and I don't think it should be allowed with every character, how is there a chance we'll be getting polygamous romances? The original comments on Mass Effect's romance, letting you be a Captain Kirk-like playboy with exotic alien women (or men, if that's your thing) was great, but I don't think there's even been an actual polygamous-style romance in any Bioware game in recent memory. Maybe mentioned with Isabella and a hardened Origins Leliana, but never outright done. Could be tasteful, could just be a humorous, well, Captain Kirk playboy sorta thing.
But if it can't be done then that's fine. I'm not an "inclusion" or "diversity" fanatic, though I think it'd be neat to see some polygamy involving the man or woman whom might soon become our favorite space hero. Polygamy or multiple partners isn't nearly as important as good romance options for both genders and sexual persuasions, though. That should of course come first.
