Origins' system. I would be OK with dialogue wheel, but it decreases number of choices we can make (usually to 2-3. I remember few situations where there were 4 options, but that's it).
The list doesn't actually afford you more options. With the wheel, you might get 3 or possibly 4 up front, but the investigate option can easily hide up to 5 extra lines of dialogue if the writers put a lot into the conversation. Mind you, with a list, a slot will often be taken up by the option that simply ends the conversation, and one that is tantamount to an investigate option that opens yet another list. This was always crappy in Origins because it was an actual "spoken" line that got the same canned response from the companion before you could go further.
