From what we know about the game from the trailer is that there is a character from n7 that has squadmates. We also have been told that he is not our player controlled character. If we go by this concept image from the first part of http://forum.bioware...fect-andromeda/then the player controlled character ISN'T n7. So what if that means that we are actually going against n7?

It's definitely far-fetched, but I could believe it. And if n7 is our enemy then what if our player controlled character is native to Andromeda and he's trying to get rid of the n7 intruders.

I don't know. It's something to think about

Edit: disregard the part with the native protagonist, I was just rambling without thinking and now realize it doesn't make any sense.

Humans being native to any world in Andromeda might make my face itch a little bit.

I was thinking about that literally just a second ago and I was going to edit it out haha

I really hope not honestly. N7 represents family, honor, loyalty, friendship, and more to me. Having to fight them would be pretty rough.

I'd get like 68 aneurysms all at once. They already lowered the bar enough with ME3, if they lower it anymore James Cameron will have his work cut out for him.

Where do people get the idea that the N7 guy will be the antagonist? I really don't get it. Like, why?...

it's not like we have much else to go on, and if he's not an antagonist, then he's probably competition.

Oh gods. It's probably Kai Leng.

Just because we don't have much info. doesn't mean that he's probably an antagonist or competition.  Maybe he's an ally?  Maybe he's an NPC like Major Coats who you'll encounter at some point?

But, playing up the renegade angle, what if he commandeered that spacecraft?  Perhaps he infiltrated it and set a destination.  Why would he necessarily need to draw his weapon, yet?  Perhaps he's going back out of the room and is about to rejoin his fellow mercs, a woman or Asari and a Krogan, to finish taking over the craft before hijacking a Mako and landing on the planet.  I'd say this scenario is unlikely, but it would be amusing in a Firefly/Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag space pirate kind of way.

I think rival colonists or mercenaries would work (Turians, Krogan, Vorcha...etc).

With TIM gone, he is now the leader of the Andromedan Cerberus Expedition. He will continually goad you throughout the Andromeda Trilogy via mail and, on those special occasions,  holovids.

Basically all we know about him is that he is not the protagonist, so there are alot of therories about who he is/whether he's important. Since its pretty common for villians to be in trailers in one form or another that is one of said theories.

@op

I get the impression its been centuries since the events of the trilogy so N7 could have changed in all sort of ways.

A few of us in the "who is he thread", have thrown out the suggestion that he might be a rogue N7 commander, in the manner of Heart of Darkness and it's various remakes (Apocaplyse Now, Spec Ops: The Line etc.).

And this N7 commands humans (and krogans?) to attack some new aliens. I don't get why some people think we can be not on his side.

Could be. If it is set not within the era of the first expansion/expedition to Andromeda but rather some time later, after some colonies are established, we could have a nice Andromedan Independence War.

I find it to be very unlikely. N7 is a symbol of the franchise. Furthurmore, the armor is identitical to the player character's and he used the Mako, I find it really odd that this isn't it, but my guess is that will play something very similar.

Although if I had to guess I'd say this is the type of character we will be. I mean, we won't start as a N7 operative, but we'll get there.

I wouldn't mind that, I bear no love towards N7 and it would make intresting plot. Though I doubt so.
