Interesting that most people chose adept and to a lesser extent engineer vs a soldier. Especially considering most people play the standard run and gun soldier for mass effect (according to some stat released years ago). The least exotic, dullest, most uninspired class possible, the LEAST escapist fantasy type of class imaginable. The kind of archetype they can LITTERALLY capture and mimic in REAL LIFE which makes me lose a little faith in humanity that their interests and desires and fantasies are so mundane... (I know, I'm judging). But most of you chose to be demi gods (adepts) or cyborgs (engineers). Some faith in humanity and better taste restored.
Soldier is OK for unlocking a lot of weapons at least (in ME1). As for this poll, you asked what we (the players) identify as. I assume that means I have to bring myself into this. So I still pick soldier, even if it's plain. I'm athletic. And the only thing I know about confronting enemies is physical fights. I'm not a hacker, so I don't fight people by dox'ing them or something. So Engineer isn't playing up any actual thing I relate to.
And if this actually makes you lose faith in humanity, consider this: Right now, someone is stepping on a cat's skull, just for the fun of it. Or kidnapping children and raping them. Or shooting up innocent people for no reason (see recent news in South Carolina). There are better reasons to lose faith in humanity than what people do in Mass Effect ![]()
