I thought the general "look" from the trailer looks absolutely stunning.

Of all of biowares properties, I think the mass effect art style is the most compelling to look at.  It's always been kind of futuristic/realistic but with an added element of an aesthetic that is BETTER than reality.  Think the trailer for mad max (one of the greatest trailers of all time)

A desert is usually a pretty dreary and bland looking place, but the colors of that desert landscape were richer and more saturated, it was not trying to mimic reality as it was, it wanted to make something look BETTER and we were all better for it.

That is what the mass effect art style gets right, reality is overrated.  Those different vistas of worlds that were surveyed looked amazing.  The warp effects and the smooth exiting and aproach of the planet was sublime looking.  Do I sound over the top?  Good, because it looked great.

My only regret is that the trailer was not in 4k at 60fps.  But they still have time to do that next time.

Can't wait to see the different effects for classes like engineers and adepts within the new frostbite engine.  Even with the relatively dated engine previous mass effect games used, the abilities looked quite good, but now the gloves can come off.  And with dx12 they can probably afford to have more stuff on screen, and more lightsources and effects.

From what I can guess from the target style they're aiming for it feels like an upgraded ME2. ME2 was very colorful, whereas ME1's color palette always felt more subdued and grey, and ME3 tried to go even more realistic which ended up ruining some character models a bit. I'm also bitter because ME3 ruined my favorite hair style, but that's a petty complaint.
