I actually liked the Johnny Cash version, but the musician in me really wanted to see/create a more Mass Effect-y version.  Pulled this together in about an hour on my laptop as a fun side project.  I used the main theme from the first game, and "Surkesh Battle" from the third, along with some VST instruments to deepen the sound and smooth things out.

Hope you enjoy!

Definitely has a more Mass Effect-y vibe going on with this music. Sounds nice.

Love Johnny Cash, hell live in the town where he lived most of his life, but yeah in the history of people nailing things, you did.
Well played.

I like your work, it blends really well with the trailer. I'm still kind of hoping they picked Cash for hints purposes though. :)

I liked the Johnny Cash version, added flair and character and got me excited for an epic sci-fi space western! Yee-haw!

The Mass Effect music you used is pretty much your typical bland and souless sci-fi fare, matches the futuristic plain everything is built with function over style in mind but lacks character.

I'm still wondering what the "Storm" is they'd be riding?  Hell is a bit strong a term I'd guess, but then dark matter has it's risks..

Good attempt, but I have to be honest. You made it too cheesy. There isn't a lot of context to the trailer with this generic dude running around and looking cool with his jet pack and omni blade. This dramatic music isn't really too fitting for that.

But nice attempt. I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but if I didn't know better I'd say you made the old ME1 music sound more crisp and modern, like there was some more edge to the synth.

It would've been cool if MEA could bring back the music vibe of ME1 but make the sounds of the synths more modern in sound, without simply resorting to dubstep noises all the time.

I dig it. The Johnny Cash version is better for an announcement trailer, but this is clearly well put together.

The music syncs very well... but, I felt like it was just something I'd heard before.

I prefer the Cash music as I'm more interested in new... than familiar (which, in the context of Mass Effect - Cash is new).

Can folk just comment about enjoying a different version,

without having to judge BioWare as sucking wholesale or wishing to fire people?

I'd ignore the posters but these days I find I can't read half the thread.

The generic hate is strong with this one.

I was prepared to say its unneccesary... but then I listened to it and if I had heard that in the trailer I'd have been crying with joy.

I think both are awesome and give off unique vibes. I still love the Johnny Cash song with it though, better gives off the vibe of the next game.

Good news, it seems haters have stopped trying. Maybe soon they'll stop altogether.

No, thank YOU!

Now we can hopefully appreciate OP's work without pointless negativity and company bashing souring the mood.

I think The Johnny Cash version told more of a story. Good job, but I prefer that one.
