Now that I'm sober I shall continue..as far as games I couldn't put down or take a break from....

1:  Max Payne 2 (PS2)  16 straight hours, I didn't leave the couch

2:  Ninja Gaiden Black  ( XBOX )  still one of the greatest games I have ever played.

3: Phantasmagoria  ( PC )   If you remember this one then you just know what I mean.

4: Sewer Shark  ( Sega CD )  I hated to love this game.

5: Super Mario World  (SNES )   ( Yeah, I said it ) also, I was 12..so there's that.

honorable mentions: Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (PS1)   ..get weeded out and play that game..Double Dragon 2 ( NES )  Batman (NES )

Alien: Isolation is awesome-sauce.   Kid Niki ( NES / Arcade game)  Wonder Boy (Sega Master System )

So Shining Force 3 is now available in English thanks to fans translations?

If Sega had any brains left they would pay the people that did it (assuming it was a competent job) and release it on Steam and Gog, just like it happened with the YS series.

I used to love it (1 and 2) on the genesis, but gave up on 3 when sega entered self-destructive mode.

Yes. And yes to Sega having no brains.

It's adequate. There some minor issues that prevent it from being top-tier work. Text run-ons, minor hangups like text disappearing if too much is displayed on-screen at once, and a lot of abbreviations used. It's good enough for a fan translation of a relatively obscure system, without a ton of documentation, it's not a professional level translation though.

Which isn't to demean the people that worked on it (it was being worked on for at least 8 years). They did an astounding job, and put in a ton of effort. Kudos to them, but Persona 2: IS, or Der Langrisser it isn't.

Yes. And yes to Sega having no brains.

Sometimes they publish good things these days (Valkyria Chronicles, Bayonetta). Not sure if they gave up on Virtua Fighter.. the last one wasn't bad.

I'd say so- I've logged over 1600 hours on my main MP account alone, and that's not counting the countless SP playthroughs. I suspect I've played ME3 more than not only any other single title, but any other franchise or series- for instance, I've owned and played every single Madden football game from 2000 to 2014, and I wouldn't be surprised if I've still logged less hours on Madden than I have on ME3MP alone. And I guess if I had to list other all-time favorites, it'd have to include-

Oblivion (liked it way more than Skyrim)

Madden pre-2013

(original) Diablo

Half-Life/Counterstrike

GTA 3

Starcraft

Final Fantasy 7

Tecmo Super Bowl

Over 30 years of gaming, there's no way to pick a favorite. Too much diversity and greatness through the years.

I will say this though, no game/series has ever gotten me as immersed in the story and characters as Mass Effect. The only one that comes close is Final Fantasy (7,8, & 10)

Best games I've ever played? Let's say these games have taken up the most of my time...

Roughly in chronological order...

Super Mario III

X-Wing/X-Wing Vs Tie Fighter

Civilization 2

Legend of Zelda, Ocarina of Time

Goldeneye/Perfect Dark

Baldur's Gate

Heroes of Might and Magic III Hotseat w/3 friends Single player campaigns in the HOMM series are just rubbish. Loved making maps for this game to play with my friends.

Master of Orion 2 Again lots of Hotseat

Aliens Vs Predator Lots of Multiplayer fun

Gauntlet: Legends

Baldur's Gate 2: SoA Nostalgically the best game ever created imho. Never played Planescape: Torment though, which sounded great as well.

Icewind Dale 2

Homeworld 2 Never played Homeworld 1, didn't know it existed at the time.

Mass Effect 1

World of Warcraft Say what you will. It's got something.

Heroes of Might and Magic V

Mass Effect 2

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 1+2. I liked the single-player campaign of iirc Dark Crusade the best.

Puzzle Quest 2 Long story.

Borderlands/Borderlands 2

Mass Effect 3

Of Orcs and Men

TESV: Skyrim

Torchlight II

Diablo 3

All I can think of now.

You sure you didn't play the latest patch? Don't download pre-patched games (usually outdated). Apply the patch yourself from the main site. Quality of translation is quite high with lots of work and many, many years and revisions put into it. With extra polishing and testing still continuing (I helped too).

Get patch from here; http://sf3trans.shin...rcecentral.com/

Unless it was just me...

I swear Reggie Miller was the Bo Jackson of NBA Live.  Pacers were a nightmare to play against in the 90s.

Outside shooters were the TGI Harriers/AIU Reegars of that game.  Even a guy like Thunder Dan Majerle was OP.

Indiana Pacers in NBA Live... featuring Fred "the Mayor" Hoiberg!

I just checked the readme at RHDN. If it hasn't been updated, and there's new revisions, then let me know, I'll update it myself.

Awesome that you helped. I've been around the "Scene" for 15 years or so by this point. I'm always really happy to see more obscure systems (outside of the extremely well documented NES/SNES) being worked on, not to mention seeing CD-based games being worked on.

Edit: The RHDN section hasn't been updated in a year at this point. I also want to say again, my intention wasn't to demean anyone, it's hard to go into too much stuff like this on sites not dedicated to it, both because I don't want to derail threads, and because it's usually considered poor form.
