But I would recommend playing JoH. It's got a good story, even if not the story many people are hoping for. It really was quite enjoyable.

 I shouldn't write on forums when I'm sleepy... sorry for that rant.

But yeah, I will buy JoH eventually, it just seemed a bit expensive to me

An interesting idea, I'm always interested in expanding lore.   But skeptical as to it's veracity.

I mean, what do the Qunari have to do with the mark?

Nothing?

Well they might want to cut your hand if they learn you can open fade rift and stuff.

The Qunari invasion was brewing for more than 10 years . Stenishock  tells you at the end of Origin , he'll probably have to fight the warden in the future.

The Qunari invasion isn't shocking , just well it begins in a DLC?Really?

And in DAI you can form an alliance with them .

I guess they get fed up with magical crap.

Now there's some Great Evilz (/yawn) causing trouble in the fade , the one who "started it all" ...Who is that?

Solas? if started it all refers to DAI....Cory ?(Please don't come back just be dead , Please.)

A new Evilz? and "started it all" is just a reference to the plot of this DLC?

The pitch of the DLC is a bit of a mess to be honest , and the scope bigger than your average DLC so I'm a bit anxious at this point.

Do they have to do anything with the mark? It's a new thing, arriving to threat Thedas after the Breach is closed.

I would absolutely buy the hell out of this. Though I'd be sad to see either Solas or our Sten as a major antagonist. I'd also hope for at least one more dlc prior to it, two just isn't enough :( These surveys (the DAI one, the ME one) do have a habit of bearing some truth, but I'll do myself a favour and remain sceptical anyway.

I think it's best for everyone to remain skeptical and just wait and see what they'd eventually announce.

I dunno.  It's just the description given that's all messed up

The mark starts glowing.

You go on an adventure to find "the one who started it all"

You face an army of Qunari.

Why is that last part tossed in with the rest?

Does this Expansion make any sense if you are an ally of the Qun and Bull's Chargers are dead? i doubt they would make an Expansion that makes almost zero sense if you have the Qun as allies.

Why would they send out a survey now? Any DLC to come would have started production some time ago, especially if it's coming out in the next few months.

Typically, these surveys are more to determine the best way to market these products.

Even Bull called alliance with Inquisition temporary - something that arose out of necessity, only to stop Corypheus. Plus, I'd like to point out that he looks genuinely worried about even that.

That's one of reasons people are skeptical this is real - or that final product will be like it, at the very least. Still, the Qunari invasion happening alongside other events is not a bonkers concept by itself. It might not be connected at all - or connected only in a sense that Qunari see an opportunity to strike, while Inquisition deals with another crisis (or Inquisitors go somewhere to find out what the hell is going on with their mark and return only to witness the invasion).

Which is why some speculate this might be a survey about DLC that may happen sometime in a distant future, not the one that they seem to be working on now. Only time will tell.

Am I missing something here?  That survey stated "final battle."   Are we already at the point with DA:I that they are considering only doing 1 more major DLC?  I truly hope that isn't the case.  Each Mass Effect game had several story-based DLCs.

Honestly? I think they've somewhat painted themselves into the corner with that post-epilogue scene - it's safe to assume people now are mostly interested with what the hell's with that and await some explanation, so they kinda have to give us something. I'm just not sure people would be satisfied with anything "story-heavy" if it doesn't involve anything/much about the dreaded Dread Wolf, let's be real here :P

Any "JoH"-like DLC may come later, even if we would be required to play it before this "final fate" one.

I'm on board.  I think the Darkspawn/Deep Roads one will be next, then finish with Dread Wolf.  The Qunari thing is likely a separate issue entirely.  It's been building forever, and there's no reason the story of chasing down the one who started it all can't be with the background of a Qunari invasion.

If Sten shows up as Arishok, I'm definitely buying it. :D Would love to see how he looks after over 10 years. And why does everyone keep saying "two dlcs"? Did Bio say we would only have two story dlcs for Dai?

I'm wondering about this too. I hope Bio doesn't retcon our choices and makes us enemies with the Qun. If that's the case, why even give us the option of an alliance? It's not like it did anything in the main game, so why make the choice obsolete when you'd really need it, as in the dlc? Also, what about Iron Bull? His role with the Inquisition is done. If the Qun attacked the Inquisition, would he turn on us?

Also, reading everyone else's comments, it sounds like dlc surverys have been done before, but I've never heard of them. Is this something that only Bioware does, or other companies too? What other dlcs did Bioware make surveys for?

The two dlc I'm expecting are Weisshaupt and Solas. I have doubts about the Qun unless it's a conflict with the new divine.

That sounds like a lot of content to cover for just one regular sized DLC. But if this is true, and it is really an actual expansion, then yeah, that's exactly the sort of content I would like to see. Especially more fade and exposition about the mark, and of course confronting Solas.

The survey was confirmed (even if you doubt the OP, syllogi took the survey herself and is absolutely a trustworthy source).

People are heavily injecting their own interpretations into the description.

Why thank you!

Yeah, personally, I chose not to screencap the survey when I took it because I wasn't sure if that was allowed, but I can provide a pic of the email that was sent from EA asking me to take the survey.  It would be a really weird, boring lie, especially since I don't know the OP and have nothing to gain from backing them up.

The thing that struck me the most was that the description of Jaws of Hakkon was very clear...they didn't mention it by name, but as someone who hasn't played it yet, it was still very clear.  The future DLC description, however, is probably way more vague, and one of the things they asked in the survey was to highlight phrases in the description that would make you want to buy the product.

I'm not a marketing person, but my guess is that they wanted to compare the way players react to Jaws of Hakkon to the possible description of the future DLC.

So... that might suggest that they're close to releasing something soon enough, if the focus of the survey is effective marketing of the product.... Huh.

Still, I wonder how much of this description is actually something that will appear in this (supposed) DLC - they may not just be vague with it; the whole Qunari Invasion thing (or other details, who knows?) might just be a ruse to cover actual content. They'll just stick to wording of key phrases people liked the most and change the rest to what's actually in the game - I mean, if this is what happens, of which I'm not sure.

Recent tweets indicate something is done or being finished. As for what in the description might be true? I for one hope the mark thing is, because I want a story that focuses on the Inquisitor and I wouldn't mind learning more about the Anchor.

My hunch is still that this is for final DLC (either at the end of this year, or early next year) and that we'll be getting something different very soon now.

I'm just not sure why they would be asking about an already released DLC alongside what would be the last DLC (when there would be one or two additional DLC released between them).

They've never done that with these marketing surveys in the past.

The description only says "something bad happens, and you have to stop the person responsible". That's it. And we know you'll fight qunari, travel to at least two different destinations somewhere on the continent, and learn more about spirits and the Fade.

All of that sounds perfectly reasonable.

I know that the tweets indicate that SOMETHING is happening, but - if this is legit and mostly about how they should market this thing - it is the first thing that suggests that we're fairly close to release date.

And I think most people would prefer to learn about the mark, the Fade and one Fade-junkie :P

Still, I wonder if the Qunari is a ruse or maybe might not be something that will carry over to DA4, just like Cory carried over from Legacy, and Anders from Awakening.

Possible... or it might be that they're compiling description for 2 DLCs in this survey - the one that will come soon and the future one.

These surveys have always been sent out far in advance of release in the past (the DA3 and ME4 surveys leaked over a year before the games would release).

We are fairly close to something, but I don't think it will have anything to do with the contents of this survey.
