It doesn't bother me.
If I want to go back and play through the trilogy again, it's still an option, and all three games still look decent enough to stand up. Maybe in a few years it would make more sense.
I already own the trilogy on PC.
I had a feeling this was coming when they announced backward compatibility on the Xbox. Still, I'm bummed to hear it confirmed.
Doesn't bother me either. The games still look nice on the PC, and consoles. And frankly i don't like the whole remaster thing the gaming industry got going on. I know they usually outsource it to small developers, but still it is a money sink and time sink. Shame for people that wanted it though.
Your thread title is a little extreme, I think; the article doesn't really say there won't be a remaster, only indicates there aren't plans for it at the moment. That could change.
I'm fine with it, though. Never really wanted a remaster. I mean, I'd buy one if they released it (and it wasn't riddled with bugs), but I'm just as fine with playing the "old" games ![]()
Might have been nice to have, but I'm cool with it.
I've been trying to get my favorite playthroughs of Bioware games, some Telltale games and the Witcher series up on YouTube. I've been putting off recording Mass Effect to see if there would be a remaster. Guess I can get started now.
Kinda disappointed, I wanted to see ME1 in HD glory sooner rather then later. But I'm in favor of new projects getting the focus on first and foremost, so in the end it's cool.
Well, my first thought is that I shouldn't have sold my 360.
Hardly surprising considering the backwards compatibility.
Oh well.
Maybe after the next game is released
Not too shocking as E3 was as good of a time as any to announce anything. I was kind of expecting something, but when Microsoft announced backwards compatibility for the Xbox One... my belief faded.
Maybe when the PS5, next Xbox and next Nintendo come out we'll see something (which would be fine).
Well, my first thought is that I shouldn't have sold my 360.
This is bullshit!!! The best trilogy of all time is not getting a remaster while other shitty games are. They could let another studio do this.
I would have liked one, but backwards compatibility makes everything okay. My 360 just took a dump on me, so it works out.
Backwards compatibility doesn't help those that do not have an Xbox.......like myself.
Meh.
It would of been pretty cool to play all three games on my Xbox One, but I'm not disappointed. I have the trilogy on PC and I'm happy with that. (

To be fair we dident really need any
just play the pc version it would have been the same i guess.

True enough. I only wanted to see it in the offchance they'd put in cut content and enhance some things they wanted to do, if they had time. A director's cut, if you will. Not just a remaster.
And no, I don't mean rewriting the endings. ![]()
I'm not bothered either. I think a lot of people have this idea that a remaster would have meant patching up all the flaws with the games, which isn't even what a remaster would've been for. The endings were not going to change, and 2's main plot was still going to be a glorified sidequest. Sorry to the people who wanted it, really, but imo the nonexistence of a remaster is no big loss. Easy for me to say being a PC player, I guess, but yeah. Never saw the point in a remaster, at least not at this stage.
