MP is all drama. Anyone else thinks that Bioware should focus on the SP first?

Not really. People who hold irrational opinions deserve to have them challenged publicly. It's good for them.

Uhhhh....this entire thread's premise is trollbait in case you haven't noticed. Yet you only judge the MP posters who recognized this, and have turned it on its head to the point where it is now full of butthurt SP only extremists spewing literal nonsense? Lol@ hiding accusations. It's not my fault that people who shitpost uninformed opinions on an internet forum don't like being called out. You going to ask to 1v1 me IRL next or something?

The CoD comparisons cement it. The series have literally nothing in common with one another conceptually apart from using a gun to shoot things being part of the gameplay and that both have a SP and MP component, vague qualifiers which encompass probably about 75% of the titles released on video game market at this point. False equivalence at its finest. If you want to use such arguments you probably shouldn't make them from complete ignorance of the subjects in question. You could just as easily compare it to Gran Turismo because you drive the Mako and Hammerhead.

If you don't want to be poked and laughed at, you should stop being hilarious [wo]manchildren with kindergarten level critical thinking skills making absurdist arguments as "goback2CoD" aka "you like what I don't, and CoD is something I don't like as well, so you should go away". If you want to insult or troll the tastes of others, you shouldn't cry when they insult and troll right back.

So....let me get this straight....

It's totally cool for you to come "poke" SP players, but you whine when they "poke" you back?  Cool.  I'll remember that "trolling" is only funny when it's directed at someone else.

And I never mentioned "COD players."

I don't think he was refering to you. And I also don't see him whine when he's poked back, to be honest. That was just a response to what you said, that that behoaviour is immature.

But hey, you're a black belt. I'll hold my arguments :D

Some people are anti-social. Multiplayer is fun.  I want equal priority given to both modes.  Some prefer MP, others SP.  I will probably dive into MP first, even though my first love will be the SP.

Honestly, it's hard to tell in this particular form of communication.

In any case, I think this MP v. SP crap is a direct result of the game being over a year away and people needing to invent stuff to argue about in the meantime.

And let me make it abundantly clear: I'm totally cool with MP.  Even if they have to divide the budget, the onus is on the writers to deliver an awesome SP experience using the resources that they're given.

Eh, I think everyone's first thought in their first MP match was to reach for the power bar. Only to realize it doesn't stop time and gets you killed :D

That is to say, we've all been there. When you try and try and try again, you get the hang of it, to the point that using the power bar when you go back to SP feels totally unnatural.

But that is, if you enjoy the MP. If you haven't tried it though, I suggest to do it, at least for some hours. It might grow on you. I know it did for virtually anyone posting in the MP section.

I practically never use the "tactical pause" in SP anymore - in fact, I often just forget it's even there. And I like it that way, never pausing makes the game feel more immersive to me.

But yeah, I've never been much into multiplayer games, and the threshold for jumping into the MP during the demo was huge. But I'm kinda glad I did it. ;)

(Oh, and it seems I'm out of likes. First time for me!)

It's the result of poorly chosen priorities and bad design decisions. TW3 is massive, yet there's a noticeable lack of boring quests.

                                                                             <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

That is true. However,  given how I was burned in DAI, I won't let marketing pseudo excitement phrases affect me.

How did you get 200 systems from 200 people working on the project?

                                                                                 <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

Eh... ever heard of Google? or the concept of research?

source: http://n4g.com/news/...e-possibilities

Originally it was supposed to be 100 planets, but an "Update entry" mentions 200.

Some quotes :

About the number of the planets that we are going to explore in the game, Shinobi602 said this, later fixing the “100 planets” part with “200 planets”

"About the planets: I was told they have a certain toolchain or some program (forgive me, tech isn’t my strong suit) that’s crafted for them in Frostbite 3 that’s allowing them to generate terrain/create planets through a random generator. They go in afterwards and tweak and detail each planet to make them unique and their own thing. With that, the target was around 100 planets so I’m unsure where that stands now."

Shinobi602 is an industry insider.  You may Google him for additional information on how accurate he is.

I hope it is a satifactory answer.

Damn homie. I'd pity you if you ever got into competitive fighting games. I can see it now: "Buffering and SS cancelling is for nubs!"

I'm learning. Apparently my only course of action is to be so rabid for information sourced from some random Internet dude that I follow his every word like he's some ****** messiah.

Not gonna lie, it ain't happening here.

of course single player is the most importen thing about mass effect games

but i do love going into mulitplayer after i have completed a main game

to get the feeling of been in that world still

and multiplayer is just fun overall

and you can spend more time in a game if it has both

so im sure they are hard at work at both.

Dammit you guys!! Can we please stop being rational and nice and go along all together and instead keep having fun poking at the hot heads around here? It's fun, I swear! You just have to take things lightly ;)

... No? :D

... Okay, then. I'll behave.

Kind of :P

I go this morning thinking I've made peace with at least some of the SP community and I come back tonight to see more QQing in the other thread and another new thread of QQ from some of the others. Oh well, back to work...

I'm still not sure if you're a chick or dude, but I'll take a chance and say I love you.

I'm gonna build a small shrine in honour of your greatness, although you're still not as great as Captain Bonecold. You're coherent and actually smart. The greatest trolls of all are the ones that have no idea they're trolling... or what they're doing... or probably even what's going on...

Then why do you spend so much time socializing here in the forums?

I don't. I like talking about particular things like gameplay. That's not really "socialising" to me.

I was heavily into PvP for WoW and I had a lot of friends of mine deep into PvP for Quake, Starcraft and other games.  I know it's not meant to be hostile, but I'm not always that great at games like this.  Not even for the "scrub" level.  The MP community isn't always kind.  For me personally, I never play MP, aside from some friendly matches of SC2 or Civ with my husband.  I might try DAMP, because I'm more into that series and I have some forumites I've known for over a year that have offered to play some matches with me.

As an older female gamer I was pretty afraid to play ME3MP as I had previously only played co-op games with my husband (e.g., Diablo, Sacred, Age of Empires, Neverwinter Nights). I was so afraid of being bad at it and being a pariah that I started my first match as a bronze solo to avoid bothering others with my complete lack of skill. I died on wave 1 without killing anything. After a few more matches like this, I thought "eh, I'll try it with others" and I've never looked back. In over 2000 hours of MP play I've been insulted maybe twice, never been kicked and I've met some really great and supportive people who helped me get better at this game than I could have dreamed. I'm not elite by any means, but I never would have guessed when I first failed at Bronze that someday I'd be good enough to solo Gold. That was due to help and coaching from the MP players I've met.

Feel free to add me on Origin (OID: Shinobu211) and I'll gladly play a few matches with you to give you a feel for the game. I'm going to be on vacation for the next 3 weeks but after that I'll probably be on just about daily.

Also, DAMP is pretty boring IMO, though I only played it for 30 hours or so.

I might, and thanks for the offer.   :)   My video card just arrived today and this is going to be a busy weekend around here.  I'm not sure when I'll get a chance to play ME for awhile.  I've promised my husband that I'm going to try out KSP and Wolfenstein first, after I finish my current DA:I game.  Please, send me a PM with your info, that way I don't lose it.
