COD is MP first, SP second. I play COD for the multiplayer.
ME is SP first, MP second, I play ME for the singleplayer.
idk why anyone would play ME for the MP alone.

COD has space magic powers that you can spam? I mean it must because obviously we've made some ****** tragic mistake in actually enjoying the MP aspect of ME.
In ME1, my standard combat tactic was to hide behind a corner while I directed the squadmates to kill things.I would definately prefer only SP as well if I needed bots to manage a bronze solo.....

Well if you're enjoying ME only for it's MP, then yeah idk man, maybe this franchise isn't for you as its obviously SP-centered.

Obviously quite a lot of people did. ![]()
I don´t play MP but I don´t mind its inclusion. It´s nice that there is a MP game in ME that some of its playerbase enjoy a lot.

If MP were playable solo with bot squadmates, I would give it a shot.
I don't understand this, if you quick search for a public game you'll land in a lobby with 3 people who probably don't know each other and aren't using mics .. you can just tell yourself they are bots. The # of public games with people using mics is quite miniscule, and even if there are, there is no expectation you would have to.
If you're worried about the scoreboard (which has a horribly flawed counting system) then don't look at it, after the match you can leave, never to see those players again.
I can't say I understand this motivation not to try a game mode you have paid $ for. Especially from a game series you love so much.

I would agree that ME and ME2 were excellent single player games, but ME3 single player was quite underwhelming, easily the weakest of the 3.
It did however have the best combat mechanics of the 3, and is playable with friends in an MP setting, that is why it is the best of the 3 games IMO. It certainly wasn't the SP version of it that made it as popular as it was

It's quite simple to understand really... We bought the game just for the SP, because we like to roleplay way more than the actual combat. Yes ME3's roleplaying was the weakest from the trilogy, but I still enjoyed it, quite a lot in fact (way more than ME2 to be quite frank, Project Lazarus really ruined my immersion on that one, way more than ME3 endings). So, at least for me, MP is a waste of time and quite boring. I played MP just a few times, but for me was so tedious that I simple closed it and started a new champaign on SP. In the end, what matters is the player's taste, so unless we agree to disagree, this SP vs MP war will never end.

That's fine, if you prefer and only want to play SP then more power to you.
You missed the point of my response though, Sylvius commented that he/she would play MP if they could use bots. My point was that randoms you meet pugging with no mics are the equivalent to bots anyways ..
Not quite Max, bots don't act completely irrational with no clue what to do as pugs can do,
But in a team with skilled players knowing what to do using no mics it comes Close to it.

In terms of AI, some bots may actually be superior.
Some.

I enjoy SP campaign but after IDK say even three playthroughs I'm tired of it besides sometimes I enjoy playing with friends instead of NPCs. I've played a lot of multiplayer games after getting started on ME3MP and this is by far still my favorite multiplayer experience.
^ For all you guys can complain about randoms (and yes, there are some bad ones out there), I find most MP lobbies full of players who are actually trying to be good teammates, do objectives, revives, etc.
Occasionally you get a poor lobby, but that isn't too common
idk why anyone would play ME for the MP alone.
So maybe actually try playing the MP and find out? I love the SP as well, but I can easily understand how someone could play the MP alone, there aren't many MP games that are as varied and replayable.
Story doesn't always make the cut. Just look what happened to the guys behind Bioshock Infinite, they released a great game but the gameplay wasn't amazing. I miss the space exploration from ME1, now it's just loading screens to get on ships, scanning minerals and running away from reapers. I hope they change the MP so unlocking stuff has nothing to do with luck.

The AI is worse than the average pug. At least on PC.
For one, I don't love it. ME2 was so disappointing that I didn't even try ME3.I don't understand this, if you quick search for a public game you'll land in a lobby with 3 people who probably don't know each other and aren't using mics .. you can just tell yourself they are bots. Second, bots are likely to behave more predictably.
Third, I can't guarantee that I'll never see those players again.
Fourth, those other players won't be available forever. Bots will.
Fifth, I'm not necessarily going to be pursuing the objectives. When playing, I do the things I want to do, not the things the game wants me to do. I'd probably really irritate the other players.
So you didn't like ME2 and never played ME3, but you spend time posting on a forum related to the Mass Effect series? Color me confused
In my experience, single player teammates (the bots) don't really accomplish much in action. If you are waiting for them to finish off the enemies for you, you better have something to entertain you in the meantime since it seems to take them a looong time to actually kill any enemies. Generally their only use is when you command them to use powers on specific enemies.
Your 3rd and 4th points are somewhat contradictory. First, who cares if you see them again; the MP player base is still quite large, this is not a problem you will encounter often.
The 5th point is valid, although I don't know what you'd be doing other than attempting to accomplish the objectives on those 3 waves ...
I like anonymity. If I can't somehow hide my identity, I want to avoid playing with the same person twice.Your 3rd and 4th points are somewhat contradictory. First, who cares if you see them again; the MP player base is still quite large, this is not a problem you will encounter often.
Only Drama it had were the elitists on forums saying how the game should be played.
Otherwise it was fine and no drama. Co-op was a pretty good feature of ME3.
BioWare hire this guy. Doesn't even play the game and can give expert feedback on how you fucked up your games just through forum osmosis.
The MP part of ME3 is among the best things ever made in the gaming industry, the SP part of ME3 was mediocre at best, unless of course you enjoy trivial combat (lol insanity), pointless fetch quests and hours of auto dialogue.

I'm guessing you played Mass Effect 1 & 2 right? Because i'm pretty sure you didn't just buy mass effect 3 on a "whim" and just liked the MP.
Because 1 & 2 were basically similar...
