Put another way, how, exactly, would adding bots wreck your experience?
It wouldn't effect me and thus I wouldn't care. However making a multiplayer aspect of the game essentially a single player game is unlikely to happen.

Not really, assuming the play with bots would be anything like SP play with squadmates.
MP is all real time; SP is pause-and-play, and allows you to control squadmate power usage. That was actually the biggest adjustment I needed to make when I tried MP. Bringing up the power wheel (which pauses the game) to select powers is something I'd been doing for hundreds of hours through all 3 games. In order to play MP, I needed to adjust to constant real-time, and using the shortcuts.
I hadn't thought about that angle, re pausing live time. You admitted yourself you haven't played much multiplayer, I can tell you you would get used to the real time usage of powers pretty quickly and it would become second nature, after all, each multiplayer kit only has up to 3 useable powers anyways
Unfortunately quality of story isn't good enough anymore. EA is all about diversified revenue streams and before you rage against that check history and you'll know I'm right. We can hope for a good story and a good MP experience because likely that's the only way this story continues.
I'm not a rager.
You may be right. I have no idea what goes on behind Bioware's doors these days. I hear that a lot of the original team are not around anymore and with a lot of new dev's, ME:A could essentially take a very different path (one of those could very well be a malicious revenue based path).
Hope is the only thing we can cling on to at this early stage.
Hope that Bioware can convince EA the meaning of integrity for this franchise and how special it is to some of us.
Hope that the writers can excel themselves and can create beautifully realised characters and have them evolve with us in a dramatic and emotionally driven story.
And hope the emotive and atmospheric soundtrack of the originals is somehow emulated within the new galaxy.
Time to find the magic again Bioware.

I think the adjustment from ME1 to ME2 would still be greater, honestly. I still hope that SP had some turn based and time dilation elements in it, that should stay for the more pure RPGer's. Though I've been vocal in my opinion that MP and SP should have connections, this game is best when it is an RPG/TPS hybrid in SP.Yes, I know. I've played enough MP to adjust. My point is that it *is* an adjustment from SP, at least for some people.
MP needs to take center stage IMO. Playing as different classes in an open world a la Elder Scrolls, was the one hope I had for SP, but that hope was essentially shot to $#!+ at E3.
Granted, the franchise is a SP RPG at heart, but ME3MP has changed the expectations for a lot players, including myself.
Maximal MP integration into SP is where its at. Make multiplayer missions available from the SP galaxy map and allow MP players to sit in special lobbies that are tied to single player missions. That would be novel, and probably very fun.
I wouldn't buy it then.
Whoah, since when has the topic title changed from a singleplayer bash thread to a multiplayer bash thread?
can't there be a happy medium for both people who like sp but like mp to?
I am an sp lover dislike mp I find it boring but for those that like mp should have the same amount of stuff as sp gets
So many " Screw SP I want MP first" posts....
ME was always about stories & characters
Bioware should leave the open world and the boring exploring out and focus on their strength to tell great stories.
I think a great singleplayer is the most important thing for the majority.
I loved ME3 MP. I was suprised, because it was fun, but I enjoyed the SP first, before I started the MP.
So Bioware, just focus on the SP first, make a basic MP and release the MP DLC's later, like you did in ME3. There is plenty of time for that.
I want a great and epic SP first!
Just my opinion!
I agree. MP suxs IMO and it ruins SP games.
IF I have to give up some SP content that is tied to the MP then I want some MP content tied to SP. I'm serious. That sounds only fair.
If MP were playable solo with bot squadmates, I would give it a shot.
Dear we call that Unreal Tournament ![]()
Absolutely. I think the reason the past two games (ME3/Inquisition) have been blurring the lines of single player MMOs (in terms of grinds and collection quests) is due to the focus on multiplayer.
Multiplayer should either be a separate IP or afterthought in my honest opinion.
I really don't see how ME3 feels like a "single player MMO".

It doesn't at all, and complaining about grinding in ME3 is silly since it is by far the least grindy game in the series.

What does that even mean? I've seen that line come up here a lot, and they all seem proud of themselves when they say it. I don't know a single MP player on here that hasn't played the SP so most MPer's like having them tied together. It's not the major burn you guys think it is.
I don't see how that's a criticism. Making an MMO single-player would improve them immensely.I really don't see how ME3 feels like a "single player MMO".

There are two topics. One was a light troll thread by MPer's. The SPer's started another one when they didn't get the joke.
Before ME3 everybody were like "SP is going to be great, MP will suuuck". Now its the opposite.

Not to mention if, say, weapon unlocks were tied to in-game progression, we'd be downright thankful.
Seriously, the only SP people have no idea how bad the grind is. 1000 hours to max my manifest here.

I enjoy playing so I don't consider it a grind. The playtime to get UR's is fairly high, but the main reason for that is that there are so many awesome weapons.

This is a thread for both. But SP should be implemented first. After playing it for one month Im going to play MP.

They will both be awesome.. minus some SP continuity issues .. but awesome I say.
