Definitely Krogan. Would be great if they'd get rid of Quarians and Asari though

Turians, Krogan, Drell, Asari, Quarians, Salarians should be in the next game. A Batarian squadmate would also be interesting as well. Volus, Vorcha, Elcor, Hanar are all not really that interesting to me. I wouldn't mind them being included but I don't really care it they're not included.

IMO Asari, Turians, Krogan, Salarians and possibly Quarians and then i'm ok with pretty much everything else, never cared about other races tbh.

I would be very surprised if they didn't include every race somehow. Aside from Protheans.

Remnant = Prothean

Also Extreme Dash Distance to rule this out once and for all:

What is faster? Drell or Ferrari?

They better include the krogans at least, or i'm going to be disappointed. Hopefully the salarians will be there as well.

EDIT: Well, since there was a krogan in the trailer and in the concept arts, i'm sure they will be there, thank god.

The Asari would be SO screwed in this new galaxy.

Viable populations are going to be at an all time low... what race is going to breed with them?

really? just more of the same races? where is everyone's creativity? Its a new galaxy...there should be all new races with previous races playing a minor role in the game, in my opinion.

Drell, Vorcha, Batarian, Elcor, and Hanar

For me Turians (my favorite race), Krogans, and Salarians are mandatory races to be in the game.  I would be unhappy without turians in Mass Effect. We already know Krogan and Humans are in Andromeda and Asari are one of the most iconic aliens in the game, the alien that people identify with Mass Effect. No way they're going to leave them out. To some extent Turians and salarians are iconic races as well, though not at a parity with Asari (who had a lot of screen time in fact we know more about them than the other council ETs).

I also find the hanar and elcor very amusing and the batarians interesting, though their inclusion is unlikely. Really the only race in ME I didn't like (please resist the urge to pelt me with spoiled or acutely pointed objects) were the asari.

For new races I hope we have a catlike race. We have avian raptors, salamander/frog people, jellyfish, elephantlike creatures, dextro humans, whatever heck the yahg is an analogue to, spider/crustacean bug things, more birds (raloi), Fish/frog people, blue space women, samurai bug people, cockroach people, and hideously deformed four-eyed humans. So why not catlike people?

Think of the variety of colors and patterns! Cats are beautiful animals. Also a plant race would be amazeballs as well.

                                                                                                    <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

Think what an alien love interest would look like. I doubt fish, frog, reptillian, elephantine, plant like, insectoid or silica based does the trick.

Cat like with a tail? That armour should look interesting!

I would like to see  the drell and elcor come back. I am liking the idea that there is a possible female krogan as a squad member in the trailer (that is speculation from a lot of pausing on the trailer, it is not confirmed)  as I think that would flesh out the krogan race a lot more. An elcor team mate would be cool, as the codex says they can carry turrets on their backs and so would be heavy hitting walking tanks. I do want to see more sentient non humanoid races, evolution has given a lot more varying forms than just the two legs and two arms scenario.

@AresKeith:  Culturally there would probably be a huge backlash from that... Bioware will likely not be so "controversial" to make the concept unpopular, but still.

This is only personal preference, not anything beyond that (like actual predictions, view of storyline, etc):

Absolutely:

-Humans

-Asari

-Turians

-Salarians

-Hanar

-Volus

-Elcor

-Drell

-Batarians

-Geth

-Leviathans

-Reapers

Sure, why not:

-Collectors

-Krogan (guess this is confirmed)

-Quarians

-Raloi

-Virtual Aliens

-Yahg

-Prothians

-Rachni

Eh, fine?:

-Keepers

-Vorcha

Hell no:

-None. I like all the alien races to some extent.

So basically, uh, I like aliens! The more the better. Just 1/2 of them I REALLY want to see, and 1/2 of them I want to see but I won't be utterly broken up about not seeing them.

And yes, I said I want to see Reapers and Geth and Batarians - what of it? :)

My feeling so far is that Council (save for Human) races will take more of a backseat while still being important, while Hanar, Volus, Elcor will get more love than ever by the devs, with maybe new tech to accommodate their weird shapes more. It may be that the trend ME3 was setting in its story and SP+MP gameplay was that the 'Milky Way' could end up united as more of its own faction (even with its smaller distinctiveness continuing), and this can mean seeing just as many Asari doing stuff as Elcor, instead of stuff like when Shepard went to Illium full of Asari and Elcor just as backdrop.

Along with the original ones, I'd prefer races that are a bit less humanoid/human, at least gives reptile races a snout, claws, tail and avian races a beak and feathers. I'd also like other insectoid races besides the Rachni, something like the Verpine from Star Wars or the Thri'Kreen from D&D.

Well I believe that all races are mandatory in the next game. It's Mass Effect, after all. It'll be harsh to see a new ME w/out the races we all know and love. And I really hope they all get involved in the plot somehow.

This because those races are what defines the series. It's not Mass Effect without them. Especially without Mass Relays, which I assume will be the case.

Also, I love your profile pic. It's one of my favorite Dilbert strips ever.

Good point. No mass relays, no mass effect.

And for the topic, everyone else except batarians.
