When it comes to hair, it has to possible to make something that is both pratical and looks nice. After all my female protagnist is a soldier. Bioware hair has always been bad, more or less. Also bothered me in Mass Effect 3 that Ashley could have that hair and i could not. (sigh)

The armor design seen so far looks really nice. I really like the optional armor in Mass Effect and Mass Effect 3. It made you look more like a soldier, which i like, the N7 armor on a female never really did it. But i would be a total sucker for the space cowboy theme, so if they go there i am definately in. Would have to bring in some sort of space duster with inspiration from Fallout New Vegas.

Not really sure on walking animations. I am not a woman after all. But in DA:I there is way to much strutting, Dragon Age 2 has this problem aswell. Mass Effect always had ok running/walking animations as far as i could tell. But i would like better animations in general, and not use the same over and over. People playing DA:I has seen all the npc's do that "we just had a fight" animation about a 100 times now.

Eh I hope ME:A has female animations close to ME not DA. I want my PC to move like soldier and fighter. Personally I'm hoping gender-neutral animations for both sexes not sth exeggarated and akward.

Agreed. Neutrality is best and looks more realistic than the over-exaggerated animations Bioware's been going with lately.

Speaking of armor...

I'm hoping this time around all squadmates are fully covered and have optional helmets. Breath masks and exposed skin doesn't quite cut it!

Great minds think alike. B) I'd also like it if they'd ditch the catsuits/spandex entirely, and the high heels, and the reg-breaking spandex dresses.

I love sleek armor, just not when it stops qualifying as armor (see catsuits above). I like a balance between my aesthetics and practicality (easily found in a Souls game), and I think Shepard's armor in ME3 was a great balance of sleek/attractive and practical.

As for body types, if they don't include them, I'd like the women to, by default, have muscular bodies for once. A very skinny woman (same with an extremely skinny man, really, and if they did push themselves to make it, we'd see them with muscles from the effort) with no muscle whatsoever wouldn't make it into the military in the first place, and female Shepards as a result have always looked unrealistic to me (not to mention the lacy underwear, wtf?). If they did include body types, then apart from the normal average build we always get, I'd like to see a slim/lean body option for a man and the strong/muscular build for a woman that I already mentioned.

As for hair, as long as the long hair is always pulled back/kept up during a mission, I'd be okay with it being down when chilling in fatigues aboard the ship. I'd love great hairstyles to choose from, for a change, and a half-decent CC in general (ME's was beyond atrocious, eugh), so then I wouldn't mind making a custom PC instead of using the default for once in my life (for manShep, anyway, this was always the case; whereas I find default femShep hideous and kind of scary-looking, so I'd make a custom instead, poor lady...). Given Bioware's track record of abysmal hair, however, I will not hold my breath.

I'd be happiest with a plait of some kind.

I also really liked the bun option in DAI.

I think they should consider giving us more freedom with hair color if we aren't military. It's a big galaxy. There's got to be some humans who want to dye their hair pink or green. We just never saw any of them.

I rather like the direction armor's gone in. Not sure how to feel about the helmet but I'm hoping that the PC's face isn't quarian'd behind it.

As for animation, not sure if it should be neutral, but it could do with some more subtlety.

Never forget ME3's shepard run :P

Please no futuristic cowboy ascetic. No cowboys, no space pirates. The music in the trailer was enough. ME franchise has had enough problems with its design style (changes from ME1 to ME3), we don't need incorporating a silly gimmick.

But we need a cowboyish squadmate :(

What gets me? NPCs can have awesome hair, like the Blue Suns lieutenant on Omega in ME2, or the milf on Feros from ME1, or squadmates from across the trilogy.

But PLAYABLE femshep hairstyles?  Ugly as sin (ME3 doesn't count because you are a soulless husk if you aren't importing a Shepard).

On animation, I wish people would stand up straighter.  the ladies in mass effect had absolutely TERRIBLE posture, with haunched backs and pelvis forward.  They hunch ever so slightly, making everyone look slightly dumpy.

I hope they make armor similar to the CAT6

I'd like to see more "futury" aesthetics for ME armor, and keep the same system as ME3 for how you build your armor.

Not that I am averse to some western style influences since that angle is likely to come up.  That said, I don't think we need browncoats

Same. Brown is a color I'd just as soon over look altogether in a science fiction setting, with only a few exceptions.

I'd like a cowboy-like companion to wear black or tan.

Or maybe black and tan...

I would love a nice variety of hairstyles, and not just one of each type. I wouldn't want 'the ponytail option' or 'the pixie cut option'. Men's hair could do with some decent options too, and maybe something a little 'outside of the box'. For all his faults, Kai Leng had a more imaginative hairstyle.

A few plaits or braids wouldn't go amiss! Fishtail plait for something a little more intricate. Or a basic one (see Katniss from the HG).

Very short styles, like pixie cuts. They could be sharp like default femHawke in DA2 or be all scruffy bedhead.

Styles that aren't straight (e.g. wavy or curly hair) would also be wonderful. I don't know how easy that is with Frostbite, but a few people made mods for the previous ME trilogy that featured wavy hair.

Buns! Not just the standard 'pulled back tightly from face, high or low bun'. Maybe a side bun? Or one with a fringe? Double bun (like DAI's Calpernia)? Same with ponytails. You could have them with fringes/partings/none, high/low, loose/tight, wavy/straight, longer/shorter.

A style I don't know the name for (half-ponytail?) but I really like. It's practical and keeps hair off the face, while allowing some freedom.

Spoiler

And a variety of bobs would be greatly appreciated. Again, with slightly different lengths, straight/wavy, fringes etc.

For clothing, I'd really like some good casual outfits. Not just uniforms. I think this mod is some lovely casual wear. Or something like Nilin, or Faith or Zoe Castillo.

Bump.

I liked the way armor worked to suit the specific style of different companions in DAI. I wouldn't mind seeing that carried over to MEA, at least for the companions who aren't military.

I prefer the ME system of set armor appearances (with some slight variation among a few styles) though DA:I was a step in a nice direction

I'm cool with that, but I'd like there to be more than one alternate armor for most of the companions. I get a little bored without much variation.

Aesthetics are super important! The one thing I want is better hair. I loved DA:I character creator up until that point, especially on qunari :( I saw someone mention casual clothing be side mission rewards, (sorry can't give credit to who but saw it somewhere on this forum). And have some stuff purchasable through certain stores.

I didn't like that system. Just means that there will be armors some fans want for their characters but can never have.

I can understand that. I envied Dorian's and Vivienne's styles quite a bit, but I'm still pleased that I got to see Dorian's and Vivienne's styles in the first place. If they'd kept it all fair and even, I wouldn't have been able to enjoy them at all.

Because it means there are less options for the player. We just have to look at the "options" that the DAI armors for our Inquisitor were to see that.

You don't know that. The model already existed in the game. You could still have enjoyed it if it was a schematic.

I don't see this as an issue or a "lack of options" for the players. It's their style and it should belong to them

I don't think it's unreasonable to conclude, based on context, that they designed the serpent armor design and the flashy leather with sparkles number specifically for Dorian. Same with the plunging neckline for Vivienne.

The player shouldn't be denied options, which it is doing, just to please the cosplayers(and yes, that is the reason characters now have iconic looks).

It is also not unreasonable to conclude that they could have made the design a schematic and had it so anyone could use it.

It isn't trying to please anybody, I agree with the fact that companions should have an "iconic" look to them. It makes them stand out more than just wearing generic gear

And I think it is a bad policy to deny the player from having armor styles just so a character can look different while wearing the exact same armor.

And they flat out said that the iconic armors were in part for the cosplayers back in the DA2 days.

So? and you "in part" which means it wasn't the sole reason

And it's not like the companions could wear the armor the player has, so it's pretty even :P

Except the player gets all the cruddy options since priority goes to making the companion armors iconic. "Ooh, three versions of the exact same thing. Just what I wanted."  <_<
