srsly Bioware, even Bethesda has managed to create decent looking hair that doesn't look like friggin' plastic, and they had Shrek-like orcs back in Oblivion.

And if you're not gonna listen, at least put the modding tools available online so that we can at least get an easier modding experience to fix our hair needs (even how freaky that last part might sound). All games on PC should have the massive modding community that TES games have.

I think we'er moving away from plastic helmet heads in games now if you look at the games coming out for the PS4/XB1. And the fact that the nwe game is going to be on Frostbite and the new systems only to me indicates it's likely they'll move up through the gears on this now. At least I hope they do as I think prorgess certainly in terms of the armours and such at least was made even if it hasn't happened in the hair yet. I do think that'll be the next step though.

It would be a nice feature for female protagonists to have options for 'on duty' and 'off duty' hairstyles. Obviously with a neat animation or two of her pulling her hair out of her face on the inevitable mission where she's caught off guard and has to fight without armor.

It seemed to me that the Queen of Naboo and Padme, in SW: Revenge of the Sith, had a different hair-style in every scene - quite inventive, though a bit over done (but well done), and all of them were very attractive to see on actress Keissha Castle-Hughes and Natalie. I like your idea of different hairstyles for the femme protagonist in different settings, as it adds to her feminine personality; not that a hairstyle is the only way to build a strong feminine combat protagonist. The hair-style improvement for Ashley from ME1/2 to ME3 was excellent. It adds another dimension to femme character customization. I'm pro-story over killing thousands of enemies. This would be a nice-touch element and is easy to implement. Certainly there will be the nay-sayers who think this is inserting Malibu Barbie options into ME. I support anything that adds another level of player customization for the protagonist. It moves the franchise towards a more player-centric series, and widens the interest for new players. The story has to be linear to reach the end, but the primary character doesn't have to be static when combat isn't called for. Off-duty wardrobe and hair-style options are a nice touch and add versatility, just as different combat suits and colors make for interest too. Speaking of which - wouldn't custom control of color highlights for combat suits be of interest too?

Kudos to Ellana of clan Lavellan (above, p.6) for your excellent suggestion that ME:A have the abillity to insert fan-designed hair-style mods. It would be a great advance in game capabilities, and further increase the fan interest in jumping the galaxtic pond into Andromeda. Not sure how this level of complexity can be added; I just hope it's not an impossible option to implement.

Yes I agree but those were in the game for ME 2 & 3 anyway I think as I think you could customise the cloour of your armour anyway as I made my last femshep a bright pink one which really suited the way she looked.

I enjoy footbal (soccer to North American fans) and I'm currently watching Fifa 2015 Women's World Cup.  These gals can run and without hip exaggeration.  So, yes, I hope female combat personnel have the proper animations.

I've seen girls run WAY better than those "World cup" ladies. But, why they scream so much while playing smh!

Great minds think alike. B) I'd also like it if they'd ditch the catsuits/spandex entirely, and the high heels, and the reg-breaking spandex dresses.

Stay. Away. From. Spandex. You. Murdererrrrr

They like to trumpet how they can take elements from other games because they're all using Frostbite, so I hope they keep the face generator from DAI, which was excellent, and spend their character customisation budget on making much better hair.

Well AMD has TressFX, no?

yeah the Tress FX and whatever the Nvidia e2quivalent is should be used. This is what i mean in try and give hair moer life instead of using helmet heads all the time as it is getting a bit boring with only seeing them now in games

All of Bethesda's games have horrible hair, even worse than anything BioWare has put out. You can't compare TES games to ME for several reasons because Bethesda made their engine with modding in mind (to fix bugs and polish the game where they failed) and Frostbite was not meant for modding as well as TES games being the most modded games in the entire history of modding.

Here are my concerns.

I hope they borrow the differentiated female/male walking styles from DA. I'm aware that a lot of people find the female DAI walk to be over exaggeratedly hip swingy. I'm fine with it myself, but I'd be happy with a toned down version. My main thing is I'd rather not have a female PC who swings her arms as widely and aggressively as Shepard did. FemShep didn't have the muscle mass that MShep did, so on her, it just looked weird to me.

I hope we have some sleek, relatively elegant armor options. I don't prioritize realism or grit when it comes to armor aesthetics, and I've seen some early armor design samples that make it seem like that's exactly what they'll be going for. I'm not jumping to conclusions, I promise, just hoping that I might get to put my PC in something I enjoy looking at.

That goes for casual, non armor options as well.

Finally, hair. Yes, hair. I know I might regret being the first one (as far as I know) to bring this up.

Bioware, I don't think hair has ever been a particular proficiency of yours. I've only occasionally played one of your games where I had an option that I was actually happy with, and I usually end up envying the hairstyles of other female characters, like Diana Allers and Josephine, or the default FemShep in ME3 (I always customize the character's appearance, it's part of the fun for me).

I am really hope for a wider variety of hair options than Bioware has generally, historically provided.

Your thoughts on the aesthetics of the coming installment?

For armor, I just want a lot of customization. To really make our character look personal.

Agreed! Both design and color customization would be exceptional. I'm particularly hoping for the option to go with either matte or metallic shades. My sentinel might favor sleek, metallic white armor while my infiltrator might prefer matte black, while my vanguard might want really bulky and really shiny deep red.

And more decorative design options, as well as intrinsic variations, like shoulder guard style.

Aye, I've always loved the blue colours. I was dissapointd how "teal" the blue was in Mass Effect 3, especialy now that you return to Alliance.

So I'd love to see PROPER blue.

I said this in another thread, but I'd really love to be able to armor up my squad like in ME1, but on the ship and in non-combat areas (like towns or space stations or areas where combat isn't expected) then I want casual outfits for everyone. Preferably all of the squad would have three or four different outfits that fit their personality, and I would have a large number of options that range from professional to comfortable to sexy to slutty. I'm perfectly fine with having to buy new outfits for my character in game, and I'd actually really enjoy being able to buy outfits for my squad mates. Maybe there'd be a situation where I'd have to get to a certain point in the friendship/romance arc with that person to get to know them enough to know what they would like in terms of casual clothing.

Given how they've done DAI and I think it's one of the main things DAI has done well. It would be a shame if Boware didn't carry this over to Andromeda

I guess it depends on how many off duty scenes there are in the game though. Although I have to admit some of the Armours in Inquisition are nicer than that beige Skyhold outfit. |Kind of suprising they didn't stick with armours like in the early part of the game when you were in Haven. I'm not complaimning because in generalsince I bought the game last year and up until now Inquisition has become one of my favourite games to play. Although I have recently bought the Witcher sreies on Steam. I haven't had a chance to play them yet but I'm looking forward to going through those soon.

Okay, how about sharing you ideal armor appearance for the PC, and then your ideal casual clothing appearance?

For me, my ideal armor--at least right now--would be very metallic white, and sleek. That might change with my mood and play through, but my first play through will probably be as a Sentinel and that's the kind of armor I envision for her. I know how some people feel about light colored armor in combat, and the lack of  realism and practicality it entails, but this is one of the things I don't particularly apply that to myself. Liara wore white "armor" into combat, and I'm cool with my character doing that as well.

For casual apparel, I would like it if female characters had the leather jacket and pants option as well. I also really liked that DLC dress from ME2, but I never felt like wearing it outside of the party scene. If it had been available in 3, I might have worn it while visiting the citadel club to chat with Aria.

More importantly, I'd like the color wheel to apply to our casual apparel as well as armor. Black is great, if that's what they can manage, but it would be even better to be able to change it up now and then.

yeah the dress was quite nice in ME2/3 for off duty the N7 hoodie was quite a good idea asewll I put my character in that for a lot of the Citadel DLC scenes. As for armour. I think it would depend on the type of class I was much like DAI really.

I would imagine Biotics ewaring stuff that is similar to what the mages wear. and by that i mean stuff like what we saw Liara wear in that she kind of had a jacket/coat style armour because Biotic charactres have effectively double shields anyway. By this I mean the standard kinetic barrier that all  soldiers have and their biotics which they can form into a barrier that allows them to hold out for a spell so they don't really need heavy armour for extra protecftion So that I would imagine would cover adepts maybe engineers and any other class that uses light armour.

Heavy armour for me would be stuff like ew've seen Shepard wear already like the N7 armour and of copurse the armours that had helmets like the Cerberus and inferno Armours that were like all in one. Vanguard's and soldiers would obviously get these

For mdeium maybe something similar to what Miranda was wearing or the armour Ashley wore in ME3 Medium armour would probably cover sentinels/infiltrators type classes.

This kind of sounds right to me but I think it may depend on the game.

How about unique facial textures for our character and, locking them from random NPCs instead of vise versa. Or even from characters that get all of two seconds of a close up, like a certain Dr.Eva.

The promo art armour ticks a lot of my boxes so something like that but tintable and maybe a range of accessories would be ideal for my pc.

I'm hoping we're not going to be military military this time around. Thanks to modding I had my Shepard in a range of outfits but uniforms suited her best, which is why I loved the hoodie- I could use Texmod to give the jacket different looks but underneath true to her character my girl was wearing the standard Alliance outfit.

But in MEA I'd like to have a bit more freedom with the casual clothes while still being in character, plus something with a hood. I coveted Kasumi and Leliana's outfits big time and let's be honest good hair from BW is highly unlikely so a hood or hoods would be a great way to hide the horror.

Okay, how about sharing you ideal armor appearance for the PC, and then your ideal casual clothing appearance?

Something similar to the Hahne-Kedar, or Ariake armor, except paired with the N7 gauntlets. Thats assuming of course that the next protagonist is an N7. I also love the modded version of the Ajax armor:

2lbytd.jpg

...and I'm still disappointed Bioware decided to release that armor as DLC, except in the completely nonsensical Cerberus color scheme! Ugh...

Something similar to any of those three, and also in black or customizable, would be great.

As far as casual clothing, I thought the leather jacket & pants combo for Bro Shep was great. I wouldn't be disappointed with something similar.

On the other hand I also wouldn't mind the concept artists having a little fun with that, and doing something similar to what Deus Ex did. Characters in Deus Ex wear stuff that is kind of modern, but kind of not. In that sense Deus Ex is a little more original in that they tried to account for the fact that fashion trends change, and people in the future should be dressing somewhat differently.

Deus Ex concept art:

Spoiler

...not that ME:A should be a carbon copy of Deus Ex, either. If they mix things up a bit, they should also go for something original.

I'm hoping the Blood Dragon armor makes a comeback, I use it even on soldiers on insanity. Aside from that any other armors that look really different from your usual ones. That's what I loved about the option such as the BD armor of the Collector one. I also think that a good idea can be if they were sort of special expensive armor you have to get in one special shop, maybe being a choice of spending credits on a really good weapon or this really cool armor because you just won't get enough credits to buy everything. Maybe even put things like a Miranda inspired outfit there too for those who would want it.

I'm also hoping for more variation of sealed helmets, by that I mean those that cover the whole face, as far as I remember there was only 3 of them if you count the recon hood.

That we have at least the same amount of costumization on colours, materials, light that we had on ME3.

More hair options would be cool, though I imagine anyhting larger than sholder length will be ruled out becuase it has to fit in your helmet. I don't even want a huge number, just variety, not 14 baldish option or all short ones having a part shaved.

Omniblade costumization. Effects, blade (maybe this one changing animation).

Better character creation, let me look at my PC from any angle, and if it must be in a room let it be a really well iluminated one, like white fluorescents or something like that.

Oh and talking about hair and CC, if we have the option to have any hair colour, as in choosing that our char dyes it blue or green, have some npcs have that too, so it doesn't look really out of place. I'm not asking for those hair colour options, I don't mind if they are there or not, just that if they are there, that they make that so you don't stick out like a sore thumb.

I liked the hoodie in ME3, although I personally would prefer it to be slightly less oversized.

But I really like this casual appearance mod the most, and I'd be a happy girl if something similar will be added in the next game:

I was already quite happy with armor we had in ME1-3, especially 2 and the armor you could switch parts of and color. ME:A's promotional pics armors were pretty nice as well, especially helmet. I want sth rather realistical and armorry, good-looking and sleak of cource, but nothing too weird or sexed-up.

This kind of armors would be nice:

Spoiler

I'm not sure what I would want for casual option yet. I ended up using http://images2.wikia...asual_Cargo.png these mostly with my Shepards (same that Normandy crew use). I'm don't know yet what our role and status will be in Andromeda so, because of that I don't know what would fit to main character. Overall I think best options would be pants and shirt/jacket that look somewhat scifi. And options would be nice, maybe sth that could be customised like ME2's N7 armor.

I'd like even more some skin jackets for the female character. I like the male version in ME3, I was quite sad I didn't have a female version for my Shepard. :(
