In terms of hairstyles I would love to see dreadlocks, cornrows or generally black looking hairstyles available. I currently have a black or mixed race woman in mind for my first playthrough and it would help a great deal if there were a few natural looking hairstyles available for her.

Here are a few hairstyles that might work well in the game:

I think people expecting good hair will be disappointed.
Look at Geralt's hair, its good because Geralt have a fix appearence and few options.
The Korean mmo have good hair because they dont need to animate the head likeBioware need.

For good hair it either should be a protagonist with a fix appearence or a mute one, and I doubt Bioware will do either of those.

Given the amount of Armour choices you have in DAI and the fact they've employed it for that I think it's possible although I do agree it's unlikely but Bioware might suprise us. I hope they do but I'm not counting on it as I'm sure it'll be a great game either way it's up to them. None of us know what they've got in stoer it's entirely their call. Al lwe can do is offer su8ggestions and see if they're implemented in the games

How do you feel about tattoo options? I'd like for there to be some extra small face tattoos with lighter color variations. I'm not sure about body tattoos, because while I'd like that option, I'm pretty confident that they would show on the PC much more rarely than they did on characters like Jack and Vega.

I would like body tatoo faces, even if it wouldn't show too much.

I would not exactly kill, but I would be THRILLED with a Black Emporium like feature -- maybe our protagonist's bathroom mirror, so they can change makeup and hair as the game goes on.

And if I accidentally give them Broken Bioware Cheekbones of DOOM, I'd like to be able to change that without playing the prologue again.

I prefer the sleeker armor designs as well. While it may not factor into your preferences, I'd argue the sleeker designs are actually more realistic than the bulkier, heavier looking ones. Mobility is as important for soldiers or Marines as protection, so once you start getting into designs that appear to trade mobility for protection you're also getting into designs that no real world military organization would ever be likely to adopt.

One of the things  I loved about Mass Effect's aesthetics when it came to armor, is that the Alliance marines didn't look like Warhammer space marines.

Realistic, you need to take a look at current BDU's and you tell me exactly the sleek part of those. In fact the knowledge they have gained from the insurgency has trended towards heavier not lighter options.

bigger bulkier armor should give u buffs to ur strength and armor/shields, and the smaller more fitting armor should give u more speed and faster cooldowns and actions like leaping over cover. That would be cool to me.

I like the idea, but my concern would be unintended consequences that make one build significantly more exploitable and useful than the others.

It was like that in ME1: light armor had higher sheilds and heavy armor had more straight up damage resistance. I think they should bring that back. Along with a separate cool down for biotic and tech abilities (a universal cool down makes no sense).

Finally caught up on the likes in this thread (mostly). It's embarrassing to go back and read how many good posts and ideas that I didn't quite take in my first time reading.

I hope they release some new promotional images in the next few months, but I have no idea what the time frame usually is for that kind of thing.

There is a limit to how much weight you can put on a person. And once you get into walking tank territory, its starts to get a bit much. At that point it starts to look like the extra weight and bulk would have too large an impact on mobility, which is just as much an issue as protection.

N7 armor > N7 defender armor, IMO

If I had a buck for every time I suffered through ME2's unskippable opening, I could probably go out to lunch for a week.

I hated the N7 defender, the N7 Destroyer was like the best blended of bulky

Shouldnt bulker armor slow you down as well ?

That would be nice , squichy armor but fast . heavy armor but slow...

It breaks immersion but I think the full CC should be available at the beginning and the end of the tutorial stage so you can mess around with your characters looks and abilities as much as you want. Then in the main game have a Mirror of Transformation or something.

It would be really helpful...Probably hard to implement realistically, but really helpful.

As far as their comments goes, freaking nothing will happen until next year :(

But Fallout 4 is near... and so is X-Com 2... there is...

With tattoos, for me it depends on the background.

If the character is military there probably should be some tattoo options. Military people are kind of like bikers when it comes to tattoos. The ones who don't have any are a small minority. Face tattoos should probably be out though, with the options just limited to the body. With a military background some of the options should also have military vibe...the N7 symbol, unit or ship logos, ect.

If the character is a mercenary or a pirate though, some facial tattoos might make more sense.

As much as i like tattoos (actually i am full of them in real life) i don't need them here.

On the body you hardly see them, for you are covered by cloth and armor most of the time (or you do weired things like Zaeed who got one arm unarmoured so you could see his tattoo  ... or Vega who is the only one with a t-shirt for the same reason).

On the face or head it looks kind off deplaced often, albeit i like it (actually i am getting a tattoo on my skull today), i don't know if this is worth the work.

I didn't used the tattoo-options of any character editors in the games i play, because i found them mostly unfitting (the human noble in DA:O ... uhm... no...).

But i won't bother if they add them, ofc...

But it would be a blatant WASTE of resources they could invest in my Mass Effect MMO ... just saying...

I wouldn't mind seeing a diverse set of armor for starters. I personally liked ME1's bodysuit armor, so I'd like to see something like that with different weight degrees (light- more form fitting/less protective/heavy- bulkier/more protective but clunkier).

Wouldn't mind alien tech armor inspired by different races. Drell armor could be very tight and stealthy/ninja looking (all black, possibly a hood or mask) while another might look very insectoid (helmet looks bug like, armor made of chitinous material). Thuggish characters might take a page from Jack's alternate or Zaeeds and etc...

And yes to elegant armor for both genders. Wouldn't mind a cowboy styled space duster or something along the lines of Jacob/Miranda style suit. It would be optional but there for those who like it.

Hair...as long as its not DAI's 20+ varieties of undercuts and buzzcuts across the span of both genders *recent attempt at DAI, shudders at the only long hair being some Skrillex cut while the others... yeah*. Take a page from Star Wars KOTOR, they had a variety of hair options for different ethnicities and genders (cornrows, braids, buns, ponytails) that weren't bad looking at all. Key is variety. Even if there were fewer but better rendered and diverse I'd take it.

Example:

Male:
01. Buzz cut
02. Short afro
03. Cornrows
04. Short hair
05. Spiky hair
06. Undercut
07. Medium hair
08. Ponytail
09. Mohawk
10. Bald
11. Extreme style 01
12. Extreme style 02
13. Extreme style 03
14. Long hair
15. Dreadlocks

Female:
01. Buzz cut
02. Short afro
03. Short cornrows
04. Cornrow bun (Saints Rows from SR4)
05. Pixie cut
06. Bun
07. Ponytail
08. Bob
09. Shoulder length long hair
10. Bald
11. Extreme style 01
12. Extreme style 02
13. Extreme style 03
14. Long hair (Miranda from ME style)
15. Dreadlocks

Thin lines, chin straps, goatees and shape ups for the gents are also a major, major plus. ME's facial hair felt tacked on and plasticy. Facial hair should look like hair not paint.

I just want better armor patterns. Only 3 was seriously lame. I would love to put a giant Blue Suns logo (just as an example, I hate the Blue Suns and enjoy murdering their personnel) on the front of my armor. Don't give us sliders or color selections on ANYTHING. Give us the entire color wheel that has every color on the spectrum. Maybe allow each section of armor to have its own decal of some sort.

I also wouldn't mind pattern styles. You can have nice, clean, and professional armor patterns like a good little N7, or you could have the merc style where their logos are just slapped and dripping down because they were in a hurry to murder people and they didn't give a damn about their decal because its going to be covered in blood soon.

I seriously hope they don't go back to ME1 armor where they all have stats, but I'm pretty sure they're going to just with seperate pieces. Having each armor piece give a buff instead allowed me to use armor to increase a stat, but it didn't force me to use armor that was practical for my build over armor that looked cool. The stat increases were big enough to matter a little bit, but small enough where it was no big deal if you thought the armor was ugly. You could never get me to wear that Sentry helmet for example. Shepard looked like a serious loser in that.

Another feature that I'm shocked has never been implemented into an RPG is stat carryover between equipment. If I think a low level armor looks absolutely badars, and then find one leagues better later on that if fugly as sin, I should be able to pay a credit fine and then destroy my higher level armor to give my lower level armor the same stats. Makes no sense lore-wise, but that's a case of gameplay-lore segregation I'm willing to work with. I have yet to play a game that does the loot system anywhere near passable due to a lack of this feature. DAI loot is useless thanks to level requirements that by the time you reach that level the equipment will be obsolete. Witcher 3 is even worse since most loot you find is junk, and stuff you craft has its own level requirement and there's only a handful of armors worth a salt. Skyrim has its limited sets of armor with its crafting system.

EDIT: I take that back. I'm playing Fallout 3 right now in time for FO4, and finding loot in that game is INCREDIBLY satisfying because in that game every resource you find will serve you, and every ammo and weapon cash is downright rewarding. If it's a gun you don't need then you can sell it for caps you desperately need as well... for the beginning portions anyway since I'm now swimming in caps and guns, but it feels rewarding to finally be standing on my own two feet without a worry in that game. Maybe ME:A with its focus on exploration, and the fact we're in a galaxy of untold advancements in technology where ours could be obsolete, could give me the same feeling.

When it comes to hair, don't overlook the facial variety. Beards in BW games are either glorified stubble or bushy enough for small creatures to live in. There never seems to be a nice, realistic, midpoint.
