As much as i like tattoos (actually i am full of them in real life) i don't need them here.

On the body you hardly see them, for you are covered by cloth and armor most of the time (or you do weired things like Zaeed who got one arm unarmoured so you could see his tattoo  ... or Vega who is the only one with a t-shirt for the same reason).

On the face or head it looks kind off deplaced often, albeit i like it (actually i am getting a tattoo on my skull today), i don't know if this is worth the work.

I didn't used the tattoo-options of any character editors in the games i play, because i found them mostly unfitting (the human noble in DA:O ... uhm... no...).

But i won't bother if they add them, ofc...

But it would be a blatant WASTE of resources they could invest in my Mass Effect MMO ... just saying...

I agree with you about face tattoos, in that I have a hard time committing to giving my character them for a whole game. I've finally gotten past that with Dalish characters, but for the rest? It just distracts me.

By the way, your avatar Shepard is pretty intense. I would be scared to be in the same room with that Renegade. :P

He is cute, isn't he? Never used another one.

But we only bite strangers, our crewmembers are safe... as long as they obey.

And yes, the distraction from the face itself is, what i personally don't like about face-tattoos in general. In real life as well as in a game.

Of course it can be a good thing to distract people from the look of certain faces... but fortunatly i got a kinky taste and i am not very fastidiously and therefore i like my face.

I would love earrings. And many type of piercing.
Always hoping for the chance of a non militaristic background.

Here hoping we get some proper armors for female NPCs. As for casual outfits I can tolerate catsuits, singlets and skin-tight clothes but make sure the male muscular biceps/abs are visible. Some sunglasses would be nice addition to it too.

If we do have the option to pick a non military background, I'd love to have a nose or eyebrow piercing in the CC. One thing I did end up loving about DAI was how the options in the CC varied based on the PC's origin, like DAO.

If there are origin options here as well, they should continue that tradition.

I prefer the aesthetics of the ME1 armors over the others. They tended to be smoother, or less visually busy, with less overall combined 3-D or 2-D breakage (not sure how to accurately explain what I mean).

I want to be able to redo my face after the game starts so that I do not have to replay the intro, and also so that I can fix minor things without redoing everything. It would be nice to be able to save face designs you have done so that they could be used later if wanted, for example to use the same face with a different class. If there was a way to do this on the console I missed out on it (other than using a pen and paper and estimating the slide positions).

1. A decent pixie cut please. I'm not a massive long hair fan - it's a pain to animate, I get it, so as long as there's some well-designed short hair which doesn't look like it's been glued on, then I'm fine.

2. No gender-specific animations. Waste of money and time imo. Just an improvement on ME2/3's running would be nice.

3. Practical armour. No heels. No breather masks - full helmets please.

4. Bring back scars. I'd like the option of tats too.

5. If NPCs get nice hair options (looking at you Miranda), I want access to that too.

To be honest I'd rather they distribute that instead into making worlds more detailed and alive - interesting NPCs who move about and you can follow, funny ambient dialogue, details you can interact with, environment changing with time (say, a town is being built), no lazy 2d sprites or half-assed environements, moving nomadic groups, interesting interiors - if we're going to do space cowboy properly, I would want a decent bar with a variety of drinks, regular bar fights, bounties who drop in and out, able to play or ruin games (pool, poker, whatever), and generally dick around and then pay the consequences for it (getting thrown out if you get too drunk, please) - stuff to do beyond endless fetch quests (never again). The trailer puts an emphasis on these beautifully alien landscapes and I'd love them to be actually alive rather than DA:I fetch-quest bonazas.

As much as I'd prefer to have separate animations for each gender I wouldn't mind this. Unfortunately, given BW's track record it's unlikely. Instead, we'll probably get a single gender specific animation (male) and have both genders using it.

Interesting discussion going on here. Might as well chime in :)

Appearance:

- scars should definitely come back. Their exclusion in favor of Renegade lava cracks of evil and Paragon baby-smooth perfection took away something special from the character, methinks. Now that we are not Lazarus!Shepard, perhaps they could make a comeback?

- tattoos - that would not be a half-bad option (love tattoos, have them IRL), however, facial tattoos only are... yeah, not sure about those. Saints Row 4 had the option to have tattoos anywhere on your body and while that did not amount to much, there were scenes where the character wore shorter sleeves/pants and the ink would show. It was a nice touch. Considering that even Shepard had the option to wear short-sleeved (or, at least, not a full long sleeve) shirt in the previous installments, it would be a nice touch. Yes, it is a silly little thing, but its the little things that count :)

- I am not touching the question of hair with a seven-foot pole.

Armor:

- it would be nice to see the heavy/medium/light armor variety come back. I suppose ME3 had this to some extent (my biotics-heavy Vanguard wore something that almost looked like a hood-less sweatshirt with a few pieces of armor slapped on top of it), but just having the distinction and variety across these three separate classes would be nice. Though from what I have been hearing of Andromeda on that front (layers! Everybody grab some layers!) makes me rather intrigued.

- some people have mentioned duster coats - YES. From purely visual standpoint, the Vanguard Coat in DA:I has got to be my favorite heavy armor. It just looks so damn cool.

Please no futuristic cowboy ascetic. No cowboys, no space pirates. The music in the trailer was enough. ME franchise has had enough problems with its design style (changes from ME1 to ME3), we don't need incorporating a silly gimmick.

                                                                                                   <<<<<<<<<<>>>>>>>>>>

But that is what representative promotional cinematics are all about. To provoke a response, even if the cinematic contents has nothing to do with the actual game. An excellent reason to avoid getting sucked into hyper enthusiasm for the game.

I need to respond to this.

Scars and tattoos should be avoided at all costs. Shipboard uniforms will hide the tattoos, anyway. But, as a compromise Bio can make them optional, in which case you can submerge your fancies at will. As to Paragon/Renegade mechanics... get rid of it! It serves no purpose/influence in the main story arc. So, why bother?.. unless the devs want to give the players a placebo to make them feel better. Plus better hair. That plastic crap in DAI is just that.. crap.

About armour.

The ".. events take place a long time after..." suggests humans had time to advance their tech... especially if the Cluster is up for grabs with competing groups... as in neccessity is the mother of invention. Ergo, I expect combat armour to have both passive and active sensor suites. Plus the team should have airborne reconnaissance platforms available to them... not a Mako for Christ's sake!. So, duster type armour makes no sense or would if it is a Japanese Anime.

But, Bio will think small, and simplify combat for the sake of the MP game with built in micro$transactions for those that want better gear and beat the crap out of players with "standard" armour/weapons.

In the end, MEA will have familiar combat skill sets, aliens, pirates, mercs, another "Citadel" with another Shep to save the day.... nothing new here... But.. I'm still hoping it will be a game that I can buy.

I love sleek and futuristic design for both armor and clothes. Don't like mechaish bulky stuff and MOST importantly I hate space cowboys! Don't bring that bs in my game not as clothes and neither as companions or npc. I'm fine with the rest.

So, I just played the Intro the The Elder Scrolls online for the first time.

Loved the hair and accessory options. I wish I could swap them with the DAI ones, or better yet, just mod them into DAI.

That degree of variety would work for me.

Black Desert's character creator is capable of some very interesting things. I doubt Andromeda will have anything like BD's hair modification, but dreaming is ultimately harmless.

EVE Online's is one that had me download the game purely for the purpose of toying with it. That has more to do with body customisation, though.

Wow, out of likes but that is so beautiful.

I should look into playing Black Dessert just to get a chance at that CC.

I don't demand something quite this involved, or with a lot of body customization, but if they could adopt elements of this I would be over the moon.

Well, darn. I just bought last week it and it took almost two days to download and update.

Of course, it didn't take long for something to go buggy, now that I think about it again. The first combatant I face, and he didn't know I was there. I had to reload.
