It's a bummer that the rifle can't be used by a Vanguard. I think
collector's edition owners should be able to have some type of
collector's edition weapon. At least in Dragon Age you had a cool
helmet or a cool staff to choose from .... please add a pistol or tool
so that all classes get a piece of pie ../../../images/forum/emoticons/joyful.png.

You CAN use it, you just need to train in assault rifles. You just need to wait until you get the opportunity to do so.

The Collector's armour and rifle seems like a gimmick to me. I don't think I'm going to use them. I got the CE mainly for the art book and the Making of DVD.

I am def going to miss starting out with ARs on my vanguard. My trusty HWMR or whatever got me up to 15:34 on survival Tropical on Pinnacle Station haha

Forgive me if I'm wrong about the skills in ME2, but aren't Vanguards more proficient in Shotguns and Pistols like in ME1, or is there the ability to be just as skillful in any of the different weapon types now?

The former. However, you can also add a proficiency at some point of the game, I think. I don't know how, I don't have the game yet.

I like the armor, but the rifle sucks.

Havent used the rifle at all really. Same with the armour. I got the CE like mentioned above for the other bonus content.
