While a brand new galaxy to play and explore in sounds grand, it ducks and dives from the previous three games that have built up an interesting foundation that the fourth game should capitalize on.

The game will not be held in the Milky way,i can live with that, not particularly happy with it but it is not the end of the world.Personally i would of thought with the end of the Reaper and the destruction of most races major colonies and infrastructure it would of put most of them on a equal footing for a "colonization" rush.

After all the Milky Way galaxy is a colossal area and even though we had hundred of places to explore it barely scratches at the surface, the fact we are upping sticks and fleeing across the galactic void just to avoid complications the story line of the previous games brought up is pretty weak,if you can do it for Inquisition why not Mass Effect.

I fully understand Shepard role as the main protagonist is over, however the consequences of his/her actions (or lack thereof) should have long lasting and far reaching effects.

The ARK mission was likely launched prior to the Reaper invasion, between ME2 and 3 by the Council who began planning for the mission after ME1.

The people traveling wont know what happend in the Milkyway unless they got a functional Quantumentanglement device... I'm goign to say that the milkyway side of it got destroyed permanently closing that possibility if they had one.

I agree, after dealing with the Reapers there would have been mininmal drive for going to Andromeda. Also, why call it ARK unless it's an ARK to save you from certain doom and destruction? The clues are all there. It's clearly the Councils lifeboat where they try to save every species of the milkyway and bring a few of everyone type.

We're playing Space Noah, or accompanying Space Noah to Andromeda.

It's also convenient because it means the people onboard wont necessarily know how or if the Reaper threat ended. No matter what happend they have no idea.

Everyone died?
Destroy happend?
Control happend?
Synthesis?

They never saw the Reaper invasion. But they were probably seen as the last hope for the civilisations and species of the milkyway considering thousands of civilisations had fallen to the Reapers, several of them with a lot more Resources.
