Could both Jade Empire and Dragon Age exist in the same world?

The known world in Dragon Age is just one continent with some small islands surrounding it. The map we played in Jade Empire was also incomplete. I was thinking, since both games are set in a medieval fantasy, it wouldn't be much of a stretch to have them both exist in the same world. Lore wise it could be a challenge, but think of how awesome it would be. For example, while playing the game (starting in either somewhere in Thedas or in the world of Jade Empire) we suddenly come across an undiscovered continent. Then we later discover that that continent is either Thedas or the Jade Empire.

The map would be huge and the contrast between the two continents would make the game unique. It would make an awesome MMORPG, like an East vs West scenario. Personally, I'm not a big fan of MMOs but if its Dragon Age or Jade Empire I'm willing to have a go. Other wise, I'm all for a single-player experience.

Maybe I'm asking for too much, but hey I can dream can't I. What do you guys think?

It would have to be a reimagining, at least.

I'd maybe accept it, as long as Bioware put all their writing might towards tying into concepts and lore from Thedas so far.

I'd prefer it be its own thing though. There's the jokes/theories that all Bioware properties (save for maybe SWTOR, ha) tie in a grand multiverse or shared universe, but so far, even if this is true/ends up being made true, Jade Empire IMO really should be its own world, not part of Thedas.

But again, I'd maybe accept it.

I want another Jade Empire game.  Unfortunately, I heard it was not a commercial success.. *Sigh* I guess no JE2.

To answer your question -- Would be interesting if two worlds collided.

Would be great if the two worlds collided!  We know nothing about the rest of the world beyond the Waking Sea.  And the same goes fro Jade Empire, although we didn't get to see very much of the Jade Empire just 4 places.

I would accept the Empire in Thedas, but I guess BW would have to do that let's pretend this didn't happen with  Sir Roderick Ponce Von Fontelbottom the Magnificent Bastard.  I bring this up of course because he carried a gun, thus far in DA there have been no guns....but perhaps the events of the Jade Empire could have happened later in the Thedas calendar.

I'm reaching!  LOL

I've been pushing this theory for a while now, and only half tongue in cheek - developers have said that ideas for follow ups on Jade Empire have made their way over to the Dragon Age games, and both universes have mysterious and unexplored lands across oceans no one has returned from. And I fully believe Sir Roderick Ponce Von Fontlebottom the Magnificent Bastard would fit right in the Orlesian Court, firearm or not (Mirabelle could have been a one-of-a-kind prototype that was never reproduced, right?).

I'm only half serious when I suggest the idea, but half serious is still part serious.

What if all video games are real.... we have a near infinite amount of galaxies, with millions of star systems in each....

What if the Writers for games (in general) are psychically linked to someone (say the protag) and are just telling the story of a real event somewhere in the universe!

I do not believe that the events always play out how they do in the games though.  Xcom 2, for example, has the aliens taking over the Earth (or a planet like it), but in Xcom 1 you can actually repel the invasion!

This is what my roommate and I speculate while we are inebriated with non alcoholic substances....

I'm find with half serious of fully series.  I do really think it could work and with little easter eggs in Dragon Age such as Cole talking about "The Great Strategist" it really begs the question if they do exist within the same world.  There is so much beyond Thedas that hasn't been explored and so very little of the Jade Empire that has been shared.

I'd be happy with a cross over game / book.  Honestly, I'd be happy if they would do anything with the Jade Empire franchise again.

Both series still have vast undiscovered lands left to explore as well as dragon gods, so thats a start. The problem is the way outsiders (demons, spirits, etc) and spellcasting work is very diferent from one world to the other but they could always use the explanation that there are several outer planes out there, the Fade and the Heavens are just two of them that happen to have a strong conection to certain parts of the Material plane (Thedas and the Jade Empire, respectively). Chapter 5 of JE even toys around with the idea of there being several outer planes with the alien evil entity taht acts as the villain of the chapter. Also from what I remember (haven't played any DA game in a couple of years. I intend to buy a new PC next year so I will finally be able to play DA:I and will probably replay the other 2 games before playing that one) the Spirit Plains are very similar to the Fade, it is possible that they are the same thing but with diferent names.

Also the Qunari have gunpowder and cannons, the sailors in JE have gunpowder and cannons. Qunari come from an exotic far away land, the Jade Empire could also be considered a exotic far away land from the Thedas point of view. What I'm trying to say is that I want wuxia Qunari.
