Those characters aren't in the background.  

 

They are Promotion Lords and that's just how they appear to mere mortals.

Res a single Promotion Lord will be the individual challenge.

The community challenge will be res 5 Promotion Lords across all platforms, which we will all fail, cause as the other thread says "Promotion Lords don't die." Punishment will involve Dark Spawn boss being replaced by random Promotion Lord, and sudden ill-timed disconnects from the game if carrying poorly planned resistance potions.

(When do you know you've beaten a dead horse? When you hit "p" on your tablet and the predictive text instantly goes to capitalized "promotion.")
