Since people are so concerned about how much unlike the setting is, I can see them staying pretty close to those six class. I expect it will either stay pretty close to Mass Effect 3 or there will be "core" skills that you must take and several related skills you can pick.
I think the classes will be loosely based on those templates, but will be slightly modified into new classes with the information they gleaned from adding all those classes introduced in the ME3 Multiplayer.
I want a melee focused class.
As long as charging is still a thing, I'll be happy.
Lets hope they don't have that charging but that was part of the Omega DLC. You charge you die.

Pretty sure they'll add at least one new class that goes with the exploration theme. Not sure what exactly, but yeah.

This.
So. Much. This.
As long as biotic explosions, double pull, and double throw are still around, I don't really care. But I am pretty attached to Adept as a label, so I hope they don't get to revamp happy.
I hope we do have the same 6 classes. However:
1)I don't mind the exact definitions of these classes to always be up for changes, as long as the broad themes remain (Combat, Biotics, Tech, Mixes).
2)I don't mind ideas of hybridization. This could mean, for example, choosing to start as Soldier, then an event happens (insert plot, whatever) that actually lets you pick another, like Vanguard, allowing you to use abilities and have attributes of both classes. (If you want an example of plot reasoning, it could be something like Matrix's "I know kung fu" hahaha.)
I think Bioware has a damn good thing going with the basics like Carnage, Pull, Overload. These have become iconic for the series and I hope they don't change. More advanced sounding abilities are great. Obviously (to me), SP and MP ME3 DLC experimented with more stuff, and we can expect things like jetpacks (duh now), biotic bubbles, weirder strains of biotics, more explosive and powerful degrees of biotics, greater and more interesting stealth and drone use, more ammo types, new tools to make Soldier slightly more interesting (lol).
In a broader POV, I think the combat will capitalize on larger and more dynamic environments. ME3 somewhat moved into this, but it looked like more of a design experiment and not a focus, and ME2 was an outright corridor shooter, and ME1 was just an attempt at being any sort of shooter.
With Frostbyte, we'll see some similarities between Battlefront, Battlefield, Mass Effect, and more. Of course tons of differences, but engine will count. Bigger environments, possible vehicular combat, more impressive effects, possible increase in destructables, increase in verticality and long-range shooting, etc. Much of this will be what all previous games 'tried to be', in different ways.
I see no reason why they wouldn't have the six classes.
Now what they may do is add specializations for the classes, sort of like in Mass Effect 1 was more in-depth.
I think so, just hope they tune down biotic detonations.
I mean, I had loads of fun playing an adept grouped with Liara for synergy but that **** was broken and made the game way too easy.
I hope so. Sentinel and Engineer are the ones I care about most, but I'd also miss Vanguard.
I hope that the combo classes are well balanced with the basic ones, and I really hope that Reave is still around.
I don't see why not. Those 6 classes cover pretty much everything.
You could incorporate a melee build into Vanguard. The problem with it in Mass Effect 3 is that melee was just kind of bad in general in SP, and MP at the start until they buffed some things and added new gear/characters focused around it.
What I do hope for is being able to equip different omni-weapons as your melee attack. I need my omni pimp slap.
I always play as an Infiltrator, so I truly hope that class is still available.
I think that a paladin-like class would have been interesting. The ability to deploy an omni-shield in one hand and advance under fire. A tank class essentially.

I wouldnt mind some change to the old class , I wasn't impressed with any of them . And new ones would be nice as well as a deeper system for allocating points and ability gains as well as Bonus powers .
I'd like to see a medic class, more characters per class to choose from like in MP and a freely customizable character (selectable powers) as reward for finishing NG+ while unlocking a difficulty comparable to Platinum in MP
