Why it's necessary: DLC has to be approved by the publisher separately from the base game.

What's the issue: You can't play old game saves if they include unapproved DLC content.  Case in point: All of my Mass Effect game saves include the DLC.  Since the DLC hasn't been approved, I can't run new game plus or boot up my saves.

Wow that's messed up for console players, I wonder if EAware are going to address this issue, or will it be too much effort on their part. It would be pretty poor to have the ME series on an Xbone with none of the dlc content, pretty much unplayable without at least the extended cut.
