There's force stagger that will do the trick but all enemies have some increased stagger resistance after an initial stagger event.

There's also damage which there's half the time no way of knowing how much it will take, a javelin or claymore shot to the face is usually adequate but I would thermal clip before hand to try and make sure.

In the later stages of Banshee/Praetorian grabs the animation seems to be unbreakable without rockets. I mean I have shot a Banshee twice as a Human Soldier with a Raider point blank then Thermal packed and AR'ed and shot twice more and it didn't break the wrist to the gut thing.

Probably something like the goon animation when he's unstaggerable.

I think it basically depends on the health of the said enemy. I think the only enemy that we can break a sync-kill fast enough would be the Banshee and a Praetorian...A Brute, Scion, Atlas and even the Phantom sync-kills are just too fast to try and break. I will say that very rarely i have saved a few teammates from phantoms right as she was raising her sword, i would hit her with a B/C to break the animation...it doesn't happen all the time tho...

For the most part if i see a teammate about to get synced, i will whip out the rocket, because that will guarantee a save....other than that i will try to hit them with B/C (yeah i use the phoenix ALOT... :D )   or i will hit them with Smash (which actually works half the time... B) )

I've thought of this too since he seems like it sometimes.

Somebody posted a picture of a decapitated Praetorian before.  It was Glorious.  They said they used a Krogan Soldier Full Melee Build with Batarian gauntlet. I have tried to duplicate it with no success. When do you punch it in the face?...When it has maybe 2 bars of armor left?

It has to be the killing blow with the melee. It has to be a gibbing melee. No idea if the plate has to be blown off or not for it to completely hollow out the Praetorian or not though, I wouldn't think so but I seldom melee Praetorians unless playing a Krogan.

You can also save yourself from certain synch kills with properly timed Ops Packs.

Pretty reliable against Phantoms once you learn the timing.

Brutes as well if you can pull that off.
