Yes...when the game was good and you had tactics.

It could be worse. They could teabag you before moving on. Not that I would ever condone such behavior. *cough*

No never. Nope, not Cirvante. No siree Bob. And he'd definitely never say "What's the matter? Never been teabagged before?" Haha. I guess I'm "honored." The price we pay for falling in combat isn't enough, but we have to be desecrated as well haha. It was pretty hilarious and unexpected.

You still miss the bigger picture. You don't ask the right questions, and you don't have enough context to answer the questions you do ask.

Wow, I thought you were observant, but I guess I was wrong. In my original post I asked for the most reliable way to earn xp the fastest, but above the question I actual gave you some context in that I was comparing mainly a ranged run versus a speed run. In addition to this context any gamer with experience would know that when discussing xp generation we look at it from an xp/per hour calculation since gamers tend to game in hour chunks (1, 2, 3, hours etc.) and most games mesh well with determining a run or runs for xp that fits within an hour. Furthermore the flow of this thread clearly went in the xp/per hour direction once some of the posters supported that speed runs would typically lead to more xp for multiple runs in an hour when compared to ranged runs.

Further context from my original post was that I am on the leaderboard so obviously my gear is considered top gear, and I mentioned that most of my games are usually with players below me on the leader board or randoms. So you knew that there would be few times I was running an optimal xp group. However, you bring all this up and still fail to realize after several times of me mentioning it that I no longer needed the detailed information I was asking for as there are too many variables and no one wants to put the effort in to collect this data, me included.

It's just sad you couldn't say "Your welcome for the xp per game ranges I provided, and you are correct no one including me has done the detailed data collection you were looking for as you are right there are just too many variables to control to make it fun to do so"

You even support me again in that you said my question was answered in a "generic" way, and I agree and admitted this, and that this was going to be enough to satisfy me since no one has done more detailed testing. To your point on Prestige per hour, I actually listed some information in my post that stated 1 promotion per hour is very possible with the optimum setup of team and classes, but most likely for a lot of us, including me 2 promotions in 3 hours was more likely. This equals approximately 0.66 promotions per hour which is close to your statement of half a Prestige per hour.

Some further numbers I ran recently were a mixed group of damage and support, with 1 of each class type and 2-3 players around 100-150 promotions and 1 random. Doing Perilous speed runs on Chateau getting free doors or all doors but not stopping the flow of combat for doors, ended in abut 12 min runs average at 25k per run average. Thus 125k per hour and since I listed the actual amount of xp needed to level to 20, which is 194.2k then this was 1 promotion about every hour and half. I also did some ranged FC runs with a higher level team, mostly support, but 1 warrior and it was taking around 25 min per run (no dragon of course) and were getting around 50-55k per run. So it took 4 runs to get around the same xp as 8 speed runs both ending up with close to 1 promotion every hour and half.

While no one has done detailed number crunching in a controlled test environment, and probably never will. Speed runs will offer more xp/per hour if you can complete them in half the time to 2/3rds the time it takes to complete an equivalent ranged run. When comparing old maps and FC maps, if you can do a speed run on FC in only a few min more than on an old map that is peak xp generation, but most players do not have the stats to support this due to increased archers, more open map, and if holding a choke point then you are no longer doing a true speed run, but either ranged or hybrid and the additional time is not as effective as just speed running an old map. Earlier posters have already mentioned this though and stated ranged builds for FC better for most and speed runs for old maps better for most.

I have played with a few top players that can turn an old map ranged run into almost a speed run due to their ability, but this is a rare occurrence for most of us. Still like I have said the goal currently without a new difficulty or other method to generate more xp, if you can promote 1 time per hour you are "In the Zone" so to speak. Chances are this will be a static group of mostly higher level players and more support classes in the party. Also keep in mind like I stated in a reply to Piffle that the other positive side effect of speed running is that you get completions faster if you still need them, and you should get more gold per hour unless you are purposely ignoring doors and pots.

I am happy with the outcome of this thread overall, and as I continue to collect data I will post my results here or in a new thread. I do not expect anyone to do speed runs if they prefer a ranged run or some other way of running, as having fun is still the priority. I like speed runs, but I also like getting as many doors as possible without slowing down combat. I clear rooms alone a lot or with 1 support, and like to clear the rooms we go. Speed runs to me ensure all players will be involved in the run no matter what class you are playing and I get more completions this way. I will play ranged with some friends when they have an open slot and none of my speed run friends are on, but I've seen how quickly you can generate gold, completions and promotions when in a good speed run group so this is my preferred method.

Don't worry this thread has not devolved into anything. It's my thread and I had a right to defend it, and while doing so I have kept adding more information. I admit I wish things happened a little different, but I have said my peace and have moved on. I appreciate the information all posters provided and like I said I will continue to add information I collect here or in a another thread.
