Its okay to keep it as before, but expanding, instead of having to tie it into this new SP.

Let Multiplayer be our link to the original trilogy.

Let us have out old kits, enemy factions, locations, but add more to it.

Add Elcor as heavy artillery, our version of Ravagers/Scions.

Add Citadel, Rannoch, Virmire, Omega, etc, as new locations.

Expand map sizes, with more objectives.

Add more enemy factions

Blood Pack

Blue Suns

Eclipse

Indoctrinated Systems Alliance

ME1 era Heretic Geth, with Hoppers, Destroyers, Drones, etc.

Hell, I still say Mass Effect Multiplayer could be its own game.  Keep the players as small 4 man squads, but you could upgrade to Battlefield sized maps, where you move from objective to objective, rather than just fending off waves in one small location.

Waddya think?  I imagine this being better than making up a whole new multiplayer, or scrapping multiplayer entirely, plus it would be great nostalgia for fans of the old trilogy.

I'd prefer If it's Based in Andromeda, Though I don't care much.
I doubt it'll be in the MW Though because a theme connection with SP (as in ME3 and DAI) will likely be in.

Based it in Andromeda, except make it an arena simulation like the Citadel DLC in ME3 had.

Then, you don't have to try and make it lore friendly.

This is a good idea, simulation-based training for N7 recruits - similar to what Halo does.

Then they can't re-use assets from the main game

i was thinking they could be like the SP character reviewing historical vids of the war, so kinda like that, yeah.

You don't even know what MP is but you want it to be a ME3 clone for nostalgia, wow.

Little idea....nothing major... Mass Effect Online...

It would be the MP we have but it would transcend the individual games. It wouldnt be limited by any single game's time frame. So pretty much just take what you are saying and detach it from the "titles" of the games and let it exist beside all of them

clone?  no.  Expansion, continuation.  The ME3MP still had a LOT of untapped potential.

I'm worried that Andromeda MP would just be a clone of ME3MP because they have to start from scratch again.

I hear that, abandoning even a single character or power from the current MP would be a waste beyond imagining. There are still so many factions, characters, and powers that can be added

Assuming we're colonizing new planets, or aiding the expansion of settled worlds then you already have the base right there. Holding off strongholds, cities, and other urban areas being settled, or that were already settled, from pirates, slavers, or whatever the primary enemy alien race(s) are.

I'm all for the inclusion of MP, heck I'd say ME:MP is probably my favorite of all time (I certainly have put more time into it than any other MP) but there's no reason to not expand. I'm sure they'll include many of the same kits, or close to them, I'm also sure that if any race gets left out, they'll have an equivalent, or close approximation.

If the series continues its trend, then odds stipulate that there will be even more power progression (4 levels, one split no weapon customization into 6 levels per power, 3 splits, and weapon mods). We have no info at the moment, but if it continues into 7 or 8 levels, with 4 splits, and armor and weapon mods, then I'm sure that will be reflected in MP. I also highly doubt MP isn't being carried over after how wildly successful it seemed to be.

I wouldn't mind seeing historical battles recreated either as co-op missions myself. Human vs Turians in the First Contact war anyone?  :D
