Honestly it actually sounds more like some of Mass Effect 1's geth sound effects to me...

I thought so too.

Yeah, it did a bit at first - but then you hear the noise the Reapers make when they start charging their laser. Either way I think it's either referencing the return of the geth or the Reapers (in a way), or both. Or maybe just highlighting the ongoing conflict between organics and synthetics.

Bringing back the Reapers to ME:A as a threat would only be a further slap in the face to the ME trilogy fans. That's like saying that crappy ending you had to choose in ME3 didn't even matter.

As I've said in another thread, the possibility of intergalactic travel being within reach of humanity makes it possible, and in fact quite likely that the Reapers had it too.  And as such Reaper colonies in other galaxies are also likely.

Unless of course it just gets handwaved away.  But what are the odds of that happening?   <_<

I'm hoping they sent at least one Reaper to scout out another galaxy... basically Andromeda's version of Sovereign, a vanguard. It could be close to death when we find it and once it learned it was the last Reaper, it could join us somehow (similar to how EDI joined us on missions?) I think that'd be pretty cool. A "friendly" Reaper that we can properly converse with.

What I think is we might run into remnants of Reapers trying to take over Andromeda and bring it to a cycle like our galaxy. The Reapers just failed at it because they didn't expect the Galaxies population to be as powerful there since they based their plans on how they do things in the Milky Way. Thats probably the most they should give us with the Reapers is that they tried and failed to put Andromeda into submission for a Reaper Cycle.

Well, they made everything else we did not matter when they chose to run away from the Milky Way.

That could actually be interesting. Reminds me of Murmur from that fake leak about the ME3 expansion pack.

Perhaps the Reapers sent a small force, or even only one Reaper to scout out Andromeda but found an already advanced civilization waiting for them. Perhaps some protheans even found their way into Andromeda before the end of their war with the Reapers and so were already experienced in fighting them. So the Reapers failed their scouting mission, leaving the one that could potentially become our squadmate.

Just say "No" to Reapers.

That stupid plot messed up one galaxy. Let's not have it mess up a second one.

They don't have to be a part of the plot to have a part in the game, though.

I hope there is wreckage of Reaper which can't move but can talk to you. It is too weak to destroy itself so it's stuck in endless agony. It could teach you about past... AND POSSIBLE ROMANCE. Just kidding, just kidding. Tho talking with reaper would be awesome. Also, leviathan. BioWare senpai, notice me!

Wouldn't it be great to be a Reaper? You could indoctrinate anyone to love you "unconditionally".

Finally senpai might notice me... I would love to be reaper cyborg. Their attempt at adjusting to fighting Shepard other than indoctrination. Only a dream...

This is exactly what I was thinking, except it maybe transfers itself into an AI body to work as a squadmate too. That would be awesome. Reapers are AIs, so maybe it could learn to love.

I wouldn't mind seeing Reaper remnants and ship corpses in space/on planets, I'd actually welcome that but I wouldn't want them to be the main plot.

I'd like to perhaps see a couple of dead Reapers, too, but then again, I loved the Reapers in the original trilogy and like Commander Shepard their time has come and gone. Leave them in the Milky Way and give us a new foe to contend with.

They don't have to be the foe though, there just needs to be one Reaper that we can interact with. Basically the Reaper equivalent of Javik who can shed more light on the Reapers for us

The more reapers the better. Also need more cerberus! Don't really need justification for cerberus to be there. Like always.

That's definitely not the same sound sample used for the reapers.  Generic futuristic machine noise.  Nothing more.

Considering that they only come to the Milky Way every 50,000 years and it would only take them 230 to get to Andromeda Galaxy, having some reapers there isn't as crazy as many think.

Some people Really dont like to think I mean really its like they need hand holding every step of the way.

I'd be surprised if the Reapers were the main enemy, given how tightly tied in they are with Shepard's story (and especially the ending).

Part of the whole point of going to another galaxy is to escape the corner they painted themselves into with the Multicoloured Lights/Starchild ending and consequences thereof.  There is no way Bioware is going to design a game where all the consequences of that will be played out, nor will they choose a canon ending, so the best bet is they're going to ignore it altogether.

I could see there being perhaps elements of a former Reaper presence in Andromeda.  Outposts, crashed Reaper scout ships, that kind of thing.  Perhaps it could even tie into the plot, with some big bad using the (now dormant) Reaper tech, reverse-engineering it and putting their advanced technology in service to their cause.  But Reapers themselves bring things back to the trilogy storyline, which Bioware seem keen to avoid.

And in the Mass Effect Universe, they're distinct Reaper sounds. They're not going to recycle one of the most iconic sound tied to their most iconic bad guys are they?

Wait, what reaper sound are you talking about? Because the only gurgling sound that even remotely sounds like a reaper is seemingly coming from that flying alien life form.
