So, really, nothing tangible? Assumptions =/= Financial Lost.ZeroR3D wrote...

How did they lose money when many pc gamers decided to buy points in anticipation of the release?
-Losing share of the DLC market where points are used for non-EA content (XBL, PSN in some way).
-Losing interest in future DLC purchase, including RtO.
-Not everyone buys points ahead of time, and given RtO's issues, doubt many will again.
-Losing momentum (cost, time, and even market hype) in providing other DLC also translates into a financial loss.
Even if you don't believe in economics/marketing (<_<), the resources (time, money, labour - which all have financial value) spent on "fixing" RtO are a loss already (or unexpected project expenditure, whatever you want to call it). That is, if we believe their release schedule was honestly set for holiday season '09.

I dont mind if they're improving the quality of the DLC and making it longer as well as fixing the bugs.
How much polishing does one little DLC with play time of 15-20 minutes require? Coming out soon? New year is also "soon again", so to say. I seriously doubt that it'll be made into anything more lenghty as well. I am surprised and not in a positive way with the whole way this RtO "thing" has been going on. Starting to think that I should see if there's a way to "return" these 400 points since they're probably gone stale already. Few times over.

Good point but I would like to add that the main issue (since the release of the Xbox DLC) was due to the title update rather than RtO. From what I'm told, there aren't any bugs in the dlc itself. I think it was just a safety precaution Bioware did when taking the delaying the DLC.ZeroR3D wrote...

From what I understand, there was an issue with the DLC that only became visible once it got to the title update portion (ie DLC code not playing nice with title update code). So I'm pretty sure the issue originated in whatever they handed to MS. As for taking a month to re-cert, it might have taken a while to determine the exact nature of the problem IF it had passed so easily undetected through previous testing. I'm sure they're also taking a few weeks to work out their release to XBL process, in conjunction with MS cert teams. I'm sure. <_<

Is that why I feel so dirty when anyone says "RtO"?

I like that.
Maybe this is nothing more than an afterschool special. One of thing shows that's meant to build character.

I hope they are changing it to orphan those who pirated it.
Then pirates would have an exclusive version unavailable to paying customers. I'm pretty annoyed by exclusive DLC content as it is... exclusive for pre-orders, collector's editions, digital deluxe editions, editions purchased from vendor a, b, and c, have DLC 1, but those from vendor z, get DLC 2, and if you buy a t-shirt stained with Dr. Pepper you get some other DLC. Please don't make it a bonus to pirate the software. That will only serve as a further excuse for publishers and developers to restrict DLC from their paying customers.

As per the above, I just didn't pay close enough attention before spouting off. My apologies.
