OK, so as I am well aware of so there that there isn't any confusion.

I know that when you are doing your 1st play-through, that during the Collector Ship Mission; you are given the chance to either choose ( and It is a one time thing with that character no matter how many play-through you do with that one Shepard) a Assault Rifle, Shotgun, or Sniper Rifle. And that allows your character if they are not a Solider Class to use all the weapons in that category, based upon which weapon you choose; like for instance you are playing Vanguard but do not really want the shotgun since (if your like me) use the Geth Shotgun, so you want to finally use a AR (which the name of the Assault Rifle is called the Revenant). That means that after that mission your Vanguard now has the ability to use AR's now and it's not just limited to the Revenant.

My question is once you have done that and saved after choosing a which ever weapon you wanted, does that allow you the select that weapon category for a new character (like in Mass Effect 1 if you got the AR mastery achievement, that meant you could then make a Adapt with the weapon skill tree for AR and have the ability to train with it, as well as not having to hip fire the gun any more you can now ADS.) which I know there is not a achievement for doing so.

Because, here is my situation, I made a Solider Shepard (kinda stuck to the cannon) but after a long time playing as that Class I no longer feel compelled to care anymore so, I want to make a Infiltrator Shepard. As, all the cut-scenes (expect the Freedom's Progress Heavy Mech, where Shepard is going into cover with a AR even though no matter your own class he has it even though you cannot use it.) is holding most people at gun-point with the SMG. But, I know that Infiltrator's cannot use AR's, but is it possible to create a new Shepard using my same ME1 import to create a new and improved Shepard with better bodily mods and special abilities.

Or, do I have to complete the game with my Solider Shepard. Because if so that would really suck, but I will do it.

I am sorry this is such a long post but there is nothing on the internet that I can find that tells me what I need to know. It's either you get the weapon training so then yeah you can use other weapons, but I want to know; Can you start the Game with a brand new Shepard and that advanced weapon training be put to use as an Extra like if you have gained the loyalty of your squad mate you are able to start the game with their unique ability. Like Barrier or Reave. I have't played this game soooo much but have forgotten if after you select the special ability if you are able to choose a Extra Gun your class is able to use.

Thank you, If you reply, as it is greatly appreciated.

Collector Ship weapon choice is unique for each Shepard, it is not related to the save import.

Soldiers get access to three unique weapons (Revenant, Claymore, Widow)

Vanguards and Infiltrators get access to training in weapons they can't normally use and one unique weapon (Infiltrator - Widow, Vanguard - Clamore)

Engineers, Adepts and Sentinels get access to weapon training.

You can't change the weapon choice in New Game Plus.

You can import a soldier from ME1, change the class to Infiltrator and pick assault rifle training on the Collector ship. Is that what you asked? :)

Well, first if you are a Vanguard and choose the Assault Rifle, you won't have the Revenant, but instead the access to all the other Assault Rifles(Avenger, Vindicator and Mattock, if you purchased the Firepower Pack).

And No, it doesn't work as an Achievement. You need to complete the Collector Ship with that Character and then import him/her into a New Game Plus so you can access that weapon you chose on the other playthrough since the beggining of the game.

I can see that you´re new to ME2, so I guess some information can be of value:

1-There are some bonus that are specific to importing a ME1 save, aside from the decisions carried over. The level you have in ME1 will also impact your initial level in ME2. Also, your credits can also be partially transfered.

2-There are some bonus specific for having beaten ME2 at least once (with a me1 import). They will make things easier for any future shepard you built in ME2 or transfer from ME1.

3-There are some bonus (the bonus powers) that depend on doing the loyalty missions of all squad-mates. There´s also one bonus power for doing zaed´s dlc (it´s easier to do it renegade style the first time because it requires no persuasion), one for kasumi´s mission and one for liara´s dlc with the shadow broker.

4-And there´s the bonus from the collector ship. Either a new weapon or the ability to train with a new kind of weapon that your class normally can´t. Personally, I would go with the widow. It packs a lot of punch.

There´s also the extra weapon that tali´s recruitment will give you, but it´s required that you beat the mission on a very difficult level.

Take note that you can finish Samara´s mission in two possible ways. One will let samara be loyal to you. Another one will give you her Doppelgänger morinth, who has a different bonus power to offer, the dominate talent (very useful for the infiltrator). You can save soon before speaking to morinth and then reload and try to end the mission in the two possible ways. A high renegade score is necessary in order to side with morinth. Then just reload your previous save and and side with samara, and you will have both bonus powers available, for all your next plays with any shepard.

I strongly advise you to bookmark http://masseffect.wi...ass_Effect_Wiki. It can be a life savior.

And enjoy ME2.

. A high renegade score is necessary in order to side with morinth.

A high paragon score will also let you side with Morinth. The only requirement that you need to side with Morinth is to pass the persuade check. It does not matter if you pass it as a paragon or a renegade.

Each time you generate a new Career (created via new game, or ME1 import), you can choose a different Class, Bonus Power, and Advanced Weapon Training.  Although the Bonus Power can be changed later in the Normandy Tech Lab, you cannot change Class or choice of Advanced Weapon Training for that particular Career.  However, since the Advanced Weapon Training does not occur until the Disabled Collector Ship mission, you can create a saved game before that event (within the same Career), and reload it in order to make a different choice of advanced weapon (without starting a whole new Career).

If you import a ME2 character (New Game Plus), Shep's Class, Bonus Power, and Advanced Weapon Training are already chosen.  You cannot select a different Advanced Weapon Training on the DCS Mission.

Hope that helps!
