What kind of announcement or feature would make you go "nope, I'm not buying this, then!"?
What would make you turn this game down?

- If it tried to slip something into my drink. No means no!
- If they added a bunch of romance options but didn't focus on actual story content for said romances.
- If you are in it.
- If I was a rich man, nanna nanna nanna nanna na-na-naaaaa!
- If I have to do more fetch quests.
- If I have to do more fetch quests in order to gain power to progress the story.
- If we only have one new alien companion and most other characters are old races.
- If most new races are relegated as villains, mooks, and no real 'good guys/player allies'.
- If multiplayer doesn't receive the support and development that it deserves.
- If Krogan Soldier isn't a kit you can unlock at launch in the multiplayer.
- If Elcor are everywhere and not performing shakespeare.
- If 'The Blue Writer's Pet' somehow appears in any way shape or form.
- If we get an AI that just recycles the EDI storyline.
- If Beerfish posts in this thread. (Naw I love you we cool.)
- If I post in this thre- well. . .****.

MMO.
This. Other than that it takes alot to drive me away from Mass Effect.

Also, Shepard, but that's already confirmed to not be in MEA, which just leaves Reapers.

This wouldn't make me definitely turn the game down, but it would heavily damage my anticipation of the game:
Discovering that Arc theory is 100% correct, and that this really is an expedition that left the Milky Way before the end of ME3, somehow without Shepard's knowledge, somehow escaping the Reapers, and having zero connection to the world back home.
I want continuity.
I want the ME3 endings to be referenced.
I want to be able to import my save and have little details connect me back to the previous trilogy.
EDIT:
Setting the game in Andromeda makes our previous decisions easier to handle - I respect that. Heck, I like that. But I don't want our previous decisions to be cut off entirely simply because of the ME3 ending fiasco. And I don't want the ME3 ending fiasco to mean that the Milky Way post-ME3 is a world that we never see nor hear from again.

Fortunately, I don't foresee that kind of catastrophe outside of my nightmares.

I can't think of any one particular thing but thats probably because at the moment I'm not sure if I'm even going to get it.
All the problems and issues I had with ME3(not simply its ending) burned me hard and my faith and trust in Bioware to release games I enjoy took a huge hit.
Right now I'm committed to learning more and more so I can share that knowledge here and communicate with others as I always have and I'll find out closer to release whether or not I'll pick it up.

Uh. "You can no longer create your character. You're all playing that N7 dude. And he has a settish personality, so your choices will be limited."
Or if it honestly looks like the gameplay is terrible, the characters are all horrible people, and it's so edgy grimdark that I want to gnaw my arm off to escape.
The choice of music in the trailer did a LOT to assuage my fears, to be honest.

Nothing? There are already so few games with good writing.

If Liara is in it.
To answer OP's question: bad reviews from people whose opinions matter to me.

You of all people would make this kind of thread. It is a Mass Effect game there is nothing that would drive me away from it.
This. I love Mass Effect, I love BioWare. I don't hate EA but I don't love them either. If EA isn't unappealing enough to turn me away then it would have to be pretty drastic.

My only real absolute deal breakers are a fixed protagonist (insofar as a BioWare game is concerned) and it being an MMO. I have a high tolerance for a lot of things, but for a Mass Effect game, either of those things would make it dead to me.
